@cyew86,

I'll be stopping by LYP tomorrow. Since we are targeting the same range of LCD, would you please list out the ones you've shortlisted?
*
AOC 2434PW or the cheaper alternative, 2436VW iianm (5ms and no HDMI)
Viewsonic VX2433WM
Acer H233H
LG W2361V-PF
Any other Samsung 23/24" monitors within the same price range (below RM700)

those are a few that i was looking at these few days, but most of them do not have really good reviews or does not have any reviews at all. so perhaps you can see for yourself in LYP tomorrow smile.gif

That's like everything I'm looking at also.

Will let you know which one I'll pick.

BTW, there's someone selling Samsung P2350 @ Garage sales. You might want to give it a look. I know I did =P
*
saw it, but prefer to buy from reputable sellers or a shop
do not want any issue when it comes to warranty later sad.gif

QUOTE(Dreamworks @ Sep 7 2009, 07:47 PM)
The AOC 2436Vw also does not have a height adjustable stand, and no support for swivel... Iianm, it's also priced at RM699 here in Penang, same price with 2434Pw but less features doh.gif
*
iirc 2436VW has adjustable stand and support for swivel as well, and it is selling at a cheaper price than 2434PW in KL smile.gif
the main drawbacks are 5ms response time and lack of HDMI input

Hmm... Really? I always thought the unit is tilt-able, and that's all.
I'm on the Mainland, it's one of the shop around Prai Megamall (Pacific). But I bought my 2434Pw from a shop in Jusco Seberang Prai City, they have all sorts of models on display, I didn't bother with their reso... Only compared the colours between LCDs there laugh.gif

By the way, there's also one thing I didn't like with my AOC... It comes with an external AC-to-DC converter, Dell ady have these kinda things build into the monitor itself sleep.gif

Manufactures and their naming schemes... Ish... So confusing sweat.gif And uh, the Color Boost feature is useless too, makes everything look overly vivid and artificial.
*
there is another 2436SW which does not have those features doh.gif
somehow 2434PW has lost its appeal to me, eyeing on Samsung P2350 and 2494HS now, or maybe LG's

How is the IQ of Angelo?

@ cyew86

Same here also since only Samsung have some decent reviews. I am eyeing P2350 since it have 2ms response time. I don't care that people will say you won't notice the 3ms faster. The review showed it and I love the feeling that I am getting 2ms response from my lcd. Haha.

Btw have you ever considered ASUS VH242H?
*
just read the specs, 5ms though. but u can try go and see for yourself tomorrow, and let us know which you bought, and do a small review as well tongue.gif

reject all the 23.6" LCD......vote for 24" LCD

1. Benq G2411HD
2. Acer P244W
3. Samsung P2450
4. Dell S2409W
5. Dell U2410
6. Dell G2410
7. HP W2448HC
8. LG W2453T-PF
Actually waiting for Benq v2400 eco .....but don't think it will arrive....Dell U2410 is too expensive..........LG one don't have HDMI.......

left Benq G2411HD and Samsung P2450......
Have to wait for Samsung P2450 to drop price.................

if we all have unlimited vitamin M, we will reject 24" even, and go for 30" instead laugh.gif

I am running my game @ 200+ FPS but I doubt the refresh rate can keep up with it.

It all comes down to the feeling that you are getting 2ms response time from Your LCD.

happy hunting for the LCD today
let us know which model you have bought later smile.gif
i am more inclined towards LG and Samsung now

seems like the bezel got led or something.
but why mine doesnt seem like it.

it's not LED iianm
it's the plastic itself tinted with red color or something, which makes the bezel looks brown-ish

there are people who mod their LCDs by attaching the panel to acrylic frames, and install LED in the frames themselves. looks darn classy (but distracting for sure)

@ TwoThirdsMajority

I'd say you can never go wrong with Viewsonic VX2433wm.

It has everything you would need. Price is also quite a bargain for a 23.6"-er.

I went to evaluate some LCDs yesterday and found out that oddly Viewsonic is better than Samsung P2350.

does it come with HDMI cable?

how about DVI cable?
hows the text readability on this monitor?
any inconsistency in color display? e.g. appearing vibrant towards the edges but often duller towards the middle of the display?

There's a member here who posted about P2450. I think he doesn't recommend the monitor.

@cyew86

Only HDMI cable is not included. Others are complete.
Text is fine. No problem at all. As for color, it is perfect so far. Very vivid.
I have yet to optimize the settings but it is wonderful for now.

alright, thanks
going to get it end of this month biggrin.gif
