went to ALL IT in Ikano yesterday, saw the LCDs on display, noticed that Viewsonic VX2433WM and AOC monitors (not sure which models) had some serious image noise problem (and heavy backlight bleeding for AOC's). Maybe had something to do with the connection, but all other monitors from the same source had no such problem (playing Advent Children Complete Demo I believed).
Samsung and LG monitors looked fine, but Samsung 2494HS showed the best IQ among others despite having only 5ms response time (my eyes could not see any difference anyway). The color was vivid and bright. Samsung P2350 was on display as well, loved the design, but the image displayed was too dark and gloomy for my liking. LG monitors did not seem to be as sharp or as vivid as their Samsung counterparts though. I was tempted to get BenQ G2200HD which was selling for RM489 only, but that model was not on display, hence I could not determine its IQ This post has been edited by cyew86: Sep 27 2009, 04:56 PM |

OT a bit, my laptop has one stuck pixel there. any recommendation on how to fix the problem? read some articles online, suggesting some software, and some LCD massaging technique, useful?

QUOTE(owikh84 @ Oct 9 2009, 09:55 PM) confirm not dirt, just that do not know whether its dead pixel or stuck pixelfrom what i've read, dead pixel can't be fixed, while stuck pixel can hoping that it's just a stuck pixel, one tiny blue dot there, running the fix software now, let it be for few hours and see what will happen later |

QUOTE(BeastX @ Oct 10 2009, 06:00 AM) It's the sub-pixels that are defective... the red and green maybe dead, you'll need to cycle different colours to determine it i don't even know whether it's dead or stuck pixel now. its less obvious against blue background, but still can notice it vaguely, and the software could not fix it. gahh, going to leave it be, just sad that it's quite new, but glad that it's not my own laptop, although i treat it as my ownQUOTE(lingloong @ Oct 10 2009, 11:50 AM) FYI, AOC is OEM manufacturer for Dell & HP LCD last time. They break into their (Dell, HP, Samsung, BenQ) dominance this time around to manufact they own branding to compete. So no issue bout their quality for me. Plus their warranty policy is easy and available widely in Msia read somewhere in this forum that AOC will replace the monitor if there is one dead pixel, but from what i have read from the official website, that's not the case, will only provide warranty if it has more than 3/5 dead pixels |

QUOTE(kianweic @ Oct 13 2009, 09:19 PM) Another update on Samsung repair services: totally lost confidence in Samsung huh?It has been 2.5 weeks, again they ding dong around my Samsung T240. I am not sure whether the spare parts has arrived or not (from Singapore apparently, must be sending via walking) I am also not sure when can I get my LCD monitor back given that I did not received any replacement unit for my use for time being. QUOTE(SecrET_of_RainBOw @ Oct 13 2009, 09:23 PM) AOC 2434PW, Viewsonic VX2433WM, Samsung 2494HS are all quite good QUOTE(hpares @ Oct 13 2009, 09:39 PM) Hi guys, i lol'd at your friend. i wonder if the tv in his house does not have any speaker attached on it I intend to get 1 HD LCD but I seriously cannot differentiate between the picture quality between normal lcd and hd lcd. Visited all IT hypermarket today and saw samsung p2450 ( i think ). Not really much different from mine 932bplus (19inch). Can anyone tell me how to differentiate? Intend to get 1 to watch HD anime and PS3 ( not yet get 1 ). Still thinking between p2450 and AOC 2434pw. Of coz AOC 2434pw will save my money alot . But isit in term of picture quality, did it lose to samsung p2450? And summore my friend said AOC 2434 got built in speaker, which might spoil the lcd itself. And AOC only got 1 RGB and 1 HDMI input and no DVI right? Which mean if after i buy ps3 my pc can only use the RGB port.Afraid that keep plug in and out the HDMI cable will spoil the lcd. I wonder should i save the RM 300 or not. Need advise. Thanks. anyway, a full HD monitor can display HD movies full screen (1920x1080 reso) with great details AOC 2434PW has only 1 D-SUB and 1 HDMI input. but iianm, you can get a HDMI port splitter to connect two devices together |
