iPod Touch + iPod Touch 4.1 User Thread v3

FaceTime
FaceTime on iPod touch lets you hang out, catch up, and goof off with friends in an entirely new way. With just a tap, you can see what your friends are up to — literally. Witness a prank in action. Or watch your friend on the other side of the country crack up at your stories from last night — new iPod touch to new iPod touch or iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And all you need to get started is an Apple ID and an email account. You can choose an email account you already have or, if you prefer, set up a new one. You’ll never see fun the same way again.

Retina Display
The Retina display on iPod touch brings out the awesome in anything on it. That’s because it’s the highest-resolution iPod screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPod models. In fact, there are so many pixels, the human eye can’t distinguish individual ones. Which makes graphics and images stunningly sharp, and text amazingly crisp. Just like the printed page.

HD video Recording
“You should have seen it!” is a thing of the past. Because with iPod touch, you’ll always have a great HD video camera with you. Say you’re at a party and you see someone popping and locking. You’re ready to capture the moment in all its glory. In high-definition 720p video. You can record video in low-light settings, thanks to the advanced backside illumination sensor.

GameCenter
It’s time to make a game plan. The new Game Center app on iPod touch lets you add more players to your gaming network. Invite friends to join. Then totally dominate them. Take a look at how your score ranks against your friends and other players of each game. Compare game achievements with your friends. Put together a select group of friends to play with. Or choose to automatically go up against people you don’t know in a multiplayer game. So get in the game. And get your friends in it, too.

Sleek new design.
iPod touch has an all-new design that makes it the thinnest, lightest, most amazing iPod touch ever. Holding one is all the proof you need. With its curved design, iPod touch is now a mere 7.2 millimeters thin. Its engineered glass front and stainless steel back feel sleek and smooth in your hand. Turn it on, and you're instantly blown away by the brilliant Retina display. iPod touch is the perfect combination of stunning design and revolutionary technology — brilliant from the outside in.

A4 Processor
The Apple A4 chip is behind, or rather underneath, all the fun you can have on iPod touch. Apple engineers designed the A4 chip to be a remarkably powerful yet remarkably power-efficient mobile processor. With it, iPod touch can easily perform complex jobs such as multitasking, editing video, and placing FaceTime calls. All while maximizing battery life. And fun.

Gyro+Accelerometer
Smooth moves. iPod touch just learned some new moves. It now includes a built-in three-axis gyroscope. When paired with the accelerometer, the gyro makes iPod touch capable of advanced motion sensing such as user acceleration, full 3D attitude, and rotation rate. Translation: More motion gestures and greater precision for an even better gaming experience.

Two Cameras
Pod touch captures video with two built-in cameras. It shoots amazing HD 720p video from the back camera. And with its advanced backside illumination sensor, it captures beautiful footage even in low-light settings. All while the built-in microphone records conversations, music, or any audio at the same time. And on the front of iPod touch, the built-in camera is perfect for making FaceTime calls1 and shooting self-portraits. It’s surprising how much fun can fit into something so small.

Built-in speaker.
A built-in speaker lets you hear the music, dialogue, and action without headphones, perfect for casual listening.

Longer battery life.
Now you can keep on rocking (and watching and playing) even longer. Improved battery life means iPod touch provides up to 36 hours of audio playback or 6 hours of video playback — enough to watch three or four movies between charges.*

Rock ’n’ run with Nike+.
iPod touch offers built-in wireless support for Nike + iPod. All you need to do is insert a Nike + iPod sensor into your shoe and start running.

Music
Flip through your library by album artwork. Create Genius Playlists on the go. And add to your collection by shopping the iTunes Store from any Wi-Fi hotspot.

Movies + TV Shows
Movies and TV shows pop off the 3.5-inch widescreen display. Choose from thousands at the iTunes Store and take them with you everywhere.

Internet
Browse the web with Wi-Fi. Get rich HTML email, including attachments. Get directions and live traffic reports. Feed your YouTube addiction.

Hey peeps,

My band performed 2 songs with the iPod Touch @ Mac+iPod Discovery Week in MidValley yesterday. Check out the video @ http://www.discoveryweek.com.my/

It's not easy to perform touch base instruments as we are so use to our real instruments. Overall it's really cool.

Anyway, today will be the last day of the event. If youre free, do drop by. I'll be presenting Logic Express @ 2pm. See you there.

5 July, Sunday
11:00am – Asphalt 4 Competition Finals
02:00pm – Logic Express
03:00pm – Introducing iPhone OS 3.0
04:00pm – Performance by “Otam”
05:15pm – Performance by “Qings & Kueens”
06:30pm – Gameloft Game Previews
07:30pm – Final Cut Pro

Aiyah i dun jailbreak tongue.gif Oh yes also 1 more thing about the languages .. they say got new keyboard layout to support all language ? So you can type japanese and chinese, etc? How does the keyboard works ? Chinese can say use "han yin ping ying" but what about japanese ? Can someone enlighten me or best still post some screenshots of the keyboard ? tongue.gif
*
Go to Settings/General/Keyboard/International Keyboards

Select the language you prefer.

For Japanese, you have Qwerty or Kana.

For Chnese, you have Simplified with Handwriting and Pinyin and Traditional with Handwriting, Pinyin and Zhuyin.

Head to your Text or Messages and click on the globe icon below the screen to access the prefered language.

Btw..My band performed for Mac+iPod Discovery Week last week and here are 2 music covers we did with the iPod Touch. It's fun but yet challenging.

Videos were really good, congrats on the performance =D
think i'm going to go download ishred now...

Was wondering, has your band experimented with using these kind of music apps on the itouch for song composition to later play on the real instruments? Seems ideal just to whip out a touch to try out or show someone a short bit. Although I guess it might not work out quite as well as that in actuality. Just thinking what the limits of apps like that have, seeing as you guys managed to play entire songs with them =P
*
We don't own any iPod Touch. All first timer using an iPod Touch to whip out 2 tunes..hahahha but one month of fooling around with it helps to accustom our feel and time in playing the instruments.

I play the bass. The one right behind the guitarist wearing green T.

Given if you have read the pinned thread linked for you earlier, you would have created the US iTunes acc and there's even a tutorial provided in pdf format for you to follow.

Just incase you did not read, here's the link again. It's good to keep a copy of the pdf for reference.

If you're using it daily, just set it to auto sleep mode. Don't have to shut it off unless you decide not to use it for a long period of time/day.
