If you go apple store now, they say the 8GB version is updated. got any differents with the 32 and 64GB one?!, if i have just only around 1.54GB of songs, which version should i get?

Haha, the so called updated is firmware upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.1 I guess. If you don't really those new features in the 32gb version like voice control stuff, then the old 8gb will do.

What differents they have accept the voice control? Apple say they wanna make it a gaming thingy, is the gaming experience of the 8GB different then the 32 and 64 ones?

Yes, the 3rd Gen has a faster ARM processor (800Mhz) which promises up to 50% increase in performance. In addition there's now support for OpenGL ES 2.0 for better 3D graphics, the same as iPhone 3GS. The Voice Control feature requires a headphone with in-line mic to give voice commands at the press of a button.

P.S. I'm quite disappointed with the lack of camera. So interested in augmented reality apps but looks like i'll have to wait. In the meantime, I'm keeping my 2Gen. All the talk about it being a gaming device is unacceptable. Look at the DSi and even PSP has a camera add-on..

8gb no OpenGL ES 2.0? So if i buy 8gb now, worth it? Well, you see, i'm still new to this iPod things, if i get the touch, it's my first iPod i every had.

I'm so confused...I thought the 3rd Gen Ipod touch is 16/32/64gb? So now it's only 32 and 64gb?

EDIT: Confirmed 2G has OpenGL ES 1.1.

IMO Apple is trying to separate the Touches into 2 markets:
1) 8GB 2G - For casual users who want to use the iPod Music/Video and App Store features plus occasional gaming. Ideal for budget conscious too.
2) 32/64Gb 3G - For handheld gaming enthusiast or heavy iPod users who want the latest state-of-art features and big capacities.

Went to Mac City at cineleisure just now, the sales person told me that stock for new iPod Touch already in malaysia but not for sales yet coz the new iPod Nano launched recently.

OpenGL ES 2.0 is better 3D performances. Bro cspace, may i know where did u get the information of iPhone 3GS is currently using OpenGL ES 2.0...i can't find source Mind to share ?

If the new iPod touch comes with the camera, i guess the price would not be cheap. Mayb next generation iPod touch come with camera

Most stores now sells Ipod Touch 8GB at RM779 ie Machines KLCC and all decent resellers at Low Yat. Infact most of the old stocks are a bit cheaper now. Ipod touch 8GB at RM779 is a very good buy

There is no iPod Touch 8Gb 3G. Only Touch 8Gb 2G for RM779.
Touch 3G comes in 32/64Gb flavours.
