What's up with the French to the English? Did they have any political issues?

i thought it is 2 transfer windows only ... so 1 year only lah ...

there's another case still pending and the punishment is deferred until the case is resolved ... so, there might be another transfer window for chelsea to buy player kaw kaw before the ban takes effect ...

but imma definitely not siding with u guys ... players have been tapped up by man yoo too many times liao

i don't care more or less about this issue. i am pretty confident on our current squad. what for new signings. after reading for a while about aguero, i didn't find him that good. but when talking about karim benzama, it's another story

Hmm come to think of it 2 transfer window means 1 years and not the reported 2 years. If it start on next season we still have this coming January to reinforce. Even if the ban start on next transfer window i think we will be fine with out squad depth unless some crazy injury crisis.

It is until Jan 2011. Can be considered as a long period. Considering most of Chelsea players are aged. Quite troublesome. You can't just throw in youngsters to play your system. You need to assimilate them with the experienced ones so that the team could be better. Well, unless you're Wenger. But, how long did he take to make his Arsenal side a great one?

Won't go into your personal affairs with MU.

I am not sure why FiFa is doing this. Whenever there's an issue with an English club, it would be highlighted immediately. Eduardo's case. Fletcher's ban. And now this?

They have never considered on latino youngsters being tapped up by Spanish clubs aren't they? Or Italians for that matter. Ronaldo's case? I'm pretty much sure they were buzzing like a bee one or two years ago when Chelsea and United used their spending powers to buy players. We need to curb this lah. That lah.

Nothing being said on Ronaldo nor Kaka's purchase by RM? Benzema? Alonso?

Correct me if i'm wrong...the ban says no player registration till january 2011...

does that means chelsea not only can't buy any player...but they also cannot loan any player...is that true?

Take this opportunity to train and grow the youngsters. Chelsea already have a very good squad and you guys just need to blend the youngsters in the first team. No doubt your squad is aging but the quality is there, just avoid having 2-3 top players getting injured for too long.

I remember a few days ago I read a headline under soccernet that Roman is going to complain to FIFA about Man City's spending. And in which I reasonably think that it has really got to the nerves of Blatter and Platini.

Cannot register means cannot play, no point buying/loaning player which cannot represent the team.

The penalty is a bit too harsh i'm afraid....

If you guys follow football long enough... you guys should remember what happened to West Ham two seasons ago, they illegally signed Tevez and Manchesrano (not only one player but TWO!!!) and only be fined 5.5m. Tevez scored the winning goal at Old trafford on the last day of the season and kept them up in the premier league.

Why Chelsea got different treatments compared to West Ham? I demand explanation. mad.gif mad.gif

5.5m fine or players signing ban until 2010? Which one would you choose?

West Ham - illegally signed 2 world class players (Tevez and Machesrano) - 5.5m fine
Chelsea - illegally signed 1 youngster - ban from transfer windows for 2 seasons

FAIR or not? vmad.gif

The 2 cases are different. There was no breach in contract in West Ham's case. There were irregularities in the transfer and thus they were dealt with by the English FA. Chelsea on the other hand has been caught red-handed by enticing a player to break a contract with another club.

What people need to understand here is that Chelsea have gotten a young player with potential technically for free because he hadn't signed a professional contract yet. Now that is definitely not fair.

That said, Chelsea are going to appeal and the punishment will probably be reduced to just the next transfer window ie the winter window which is generally just like a slap on the wrist.
