QUOTE(Panda @ Sep 4 2009, 03:02 PM) West Ham - illegally signed 2 world class players (Tevez and Machesrano) - 5.5m fine Chelsea - illegally signed 1 youngster - ban from transfer windows for 2 seasons FAIR or not? Still, who are him to DEMAND for explanation from FIFA. He's not even a player registered to FIFA. |

Running around lyn.net and shouting "I demand an explanation from FIFA" just look utterly stupid. |

Put it this way, if your club was the one which was handed the fan, as a fan you will jump at the severity of it! All the big clubs are doing the enticing bit, I'd think Arsenal was accused of that several years ago when they signed a whole lot of youngsters back then. The fact is that FIFA wanted to state their case to tackle this whole issue, and we were the first ones, given that we had this Kakuta case going on with Lens.
In a similar vein, Eduardo's retrospective 2 match ban for simulation handed down by UEFA. Again, so many top players do it, now only they come out and say they will start to crack down on simulation. Must start somewhere I guess. The only thing I see may be potentially unfair is that both FIFA and UEFA MUST be consistent from now on, no matter what the outcome of the appeal. Meaning that they must enforce these types of punishment across the board for ALL teams, no matter the EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, etc etc, from now onwards, to avoid making themselves look silly after these 2 fiascos. |

The thing is, aw13, there have been precedents already regarding cases like this; just elsewhere and not on English shores.
This article sums it up nicely: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/david-conn...ts-transfer-ban The last part of the article: QUOTE Those in English football inclined to a knee-jerk criticism of Fifa, or Sepp Blatter, for supposedly having it in for English football should perhaps think instead about applauding the world governing body for taking a stand. Read the article, Chelsea aren't the first ones slapped with a 2 transfer window ban. But they are probably the most high profile one. This post has been edited by verx: Sep 4 2009, 05:33 PM |

Yes, verx, that's why I say they must be consistent. I don't mind the ban, I'm sure we'll rise through it with our heads up high, I just hope that the other big clubs will get their cases dragged out and reviewed as well.

About the loan things..
Q: Can Chelsea now bring in some loan signings? A: No - the ban prevents them from registering any new player, even on loan. Q: Can they bring their on-loan players back? A: Yes, because the players are already registered with them. At present, Jack Cork, Liam Bridcutt, Shaun Cummings, Jacob Mellis, Patrick Van Aanholt, Scott Sinclair, Franco Di Santo, Lee Sawyer, Ryan Bertrand and Tom Taiwo are among those at various clubs around England. |

Even if a player makes an inappropriate contact with another club without alerting his club(illegally), he can be punished if action is taken. Just like ashley cole's case.
