My Xtreamer's remote control interfere with my wired remote control for Edifier S530D speaker. The wired remote control for the speaker have its own IR receiver, so everytime I press any button on Xtreamer's remote control, my speaker's wired remote control pick up the signal n changed any settings on it.

I already tried to separate them as far as i could.  Is there anyway to avoid this ? It's very annoying.  cry.gif

Since you are using wired remote to your Edifier, you can add black tape to the IR lens on the receiver.

hi guys

I'm a newbie on homemedia systems.. Today i just checked out a shop with both Xtreamer and HDX-Bone. But unfortunately when the salesman tried to plug it in, both didn't work.

Both didn't have internal HDD then, and both were right out of the box.
Xtreamer - showed only the logo then TV complained no signal
HDX-Bone, didn't even show anything, tv just complained no signal.

The sales guy tried diff TVs but all showing the same thing. Is there some sort of installation / setup process for Xtreamer?

Also, comparing Xtreamer vs HDX-Bone, which one is better?
all my movie files are on my HD (MKV or WMV or AVI). I have no blueray disk, probably won't have for a long time.

Biggest MKV file is avatar at 1080p which is about 22gb i think..

As a general....the sales guy got no experience with Media Player...

There is always a button on the remote named 'TVout' or 'Video' that toggles the Video output.

During the first time...for most media players..there will be no signal to the TV...so you have to go in to the menu 'blind'.
But developers created a shortcut button on the remote to specially do this. So, when you plug it in to a LCD or CRT whatever, you can just press the button to see which one works with that type of connection.
Very useful button when you bring your media player around especially when plugin to hotel TV and your Home LCD.

Both Xtreamer and HDX-Bone are capable players.

For home use, I prefer a real player like Xtreamer rather than a portable one like HDX Bone..unless you are a business man whole goes outstation or overseas frequently.
Portable units have limited capability when needed to play highbitrate stuff like your 22Gb Avatar.

Hi azbro

thanks a lot for your advice.. i did notice that button, but i didn't know what it does.
Does that mean upon plugging in all the wires, i just need to hit that button for it to detect?

At the moment i'm more leaning on HDX-Bone because of it's android capability.

yes, hit the button a few times...few seconds apart.

Portable players like HDX bone has limitation....heat, limited functions, small remote...etc...not so good when you are using it at home.

But if you want a portable player...HDX Bone is a great choice

Hi.

Thanks for the quick reply. The green artifact will appear anywhere in between the screen. Its not consistent and some scenes will contain it, some dont.

Will try out what you have advised when I get back home tonight and will update the mediainfo.

Thanks!

Is the the green artifacts present for only 1 movie....or all other movies as well?

If only 1 movie than the movie might be corrupted. But if all the movies also have than it might be something wrong when you copy paste the files into you HDD....I seem to recall a member's computer RAM was faulty....causing all the copy paste stuff to get corrupted.

Also, please check the HDMI connections, make sure it is firmly in..and never bent a HDMI cable sharply.

You should go for Vantec USB3.0 and if you have more budget...the USB3.0 Vantec twin dockers.

Or if got more budget and lotsa hardisk:
