That's a good thing indeed
I wonder when can we get this rclxms.gif
*
Frankly, from my point of view, they should look for other miniature fan suppliers out there and fix the damn fan noise rather than charge the customers to buy that heatsink.

If open the fan mode + additional heatsink, wouldn't it better??
*
Actually, if you use that large heat sink, there is no point in using the internal fan as the air will not circulate at that area anymore.

The fan is originally use for the smaller heat sink so that can go through the fins to cool it down.

err...my point is do a design change or part change rather than ask the costumer to buy another heat sink...

Display settings: HDMI, 1080P

Sound no problem. It's not the display issue. It's displaying great. Just that for some movies, it stops half way. When I tried to re-play, the movie starts back from the beginning. I fast forward back near to where it stops, and play. When reach the same part, it stops again. Now, it already happen to 3 movies already. File not corrupted because I can play in PC very good and smooth. Confuse now??  unsure.gif

Is AC Ryan better anyone?  hmm.gif

Now I know the Xtreamer is picky with files...

An interesting comparison done by mavvy from xtreamer.net for temperature for three different types of cooling system for Xtreamer.

Have a look on the data for those who concerns about Xtreamer temperature.

He should have measured the db as well since it is one of the annoyance item in Xtreamer....of course the one with the heatsink only with fan off should win....but what abt the others?

Guys,

I have a problem while playing the animation movie MADAGASCAR (mkv, 1080P). It jitters all through out the movie (green and white spots coming out of the picture). Anyone of you have gone through this problem?

FYI, the file is not corrupted because I've tried playing through PC and the PQ is excellent.

Oh ya, not only the picture, the sound also jittering.

(Settings on xtreamer: HDMI cable, 1080P 60HZ)
*
Thats funny, Maddy FHD is easy to play, have you tried other files yet?

Actually, for me...720p is good enough, 1080p is too big file ut not much difference, but BDISO is stupendously huge and over-glorified.

But thats just me....cabut...haha

I'm using Samsung F3 1TB HDD.
*
Samsung F3 is a high speed model...and dispense a lot of heat (but WD Blue and Black worst).
I know, I'm using one...and for a media player...no point getting a super duper high speed HDD.

The best so far is Samsung F2 (Eco version) 1.5tb....but the 2tb is getting more popular cos' of the price.
So far I've been using Hitachi..but now, I find myself with lots of Samsung F2 around. Even my 2.5inch HDD (I've 4 Hitachi) also beginning to change to Sammy.

sad day...lost one of my SAMSUNG HDD suddenly....out of nothing the 1.5TB died..after i manage to arrange some files (lucky i was able to transfer around 300GB of file)

try to retrieve using apps but cant do much, just not able to read anything at all. serious damage..send warranty to samsung in PJ and must wait at least 1 month or more to get new replacement...

this is what happen when u abuse the HDD too much !
*
Bro...it died inside the Xtreamer Pro....or...you put it outside like on a table etc.

Have you tried TestDisk? Works most of the time
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk
But you will have to rename the files again....better rename than downloading.

did you try cold state recovery...

my boss did it once and he manage to recover all the data

this is what he did...

put your HDD in the freezer for 1 day

take it out and quickly transfer all the data

shortly after transfer all the data the HDD will be dead... but hey he got all his data!!!
*
been there, done that...and nope, it didn't work for me.

what is the app used to recover files? my pictures suddenly lost!! want to recover it but my HDD still working. any chance?
*
Try this:
http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk

But you have to rename the files again....most recovery software is same...but its gonna take you a few hours to recover if your drive is huge

guys, my xtreamer hd capacity has full already. thinking of buying external HD. may i know the cons playing movies via external HD (usb)?
*
Cons with External HD?...

Well..only minor...
1) Need additional Plug point (if you are using 3.5inch external HDD)
2) More wires to arrange nicely
3) Depending on HDD casing...sometimes more current usage.
4) Additional space to put it.
5) Be extra careful if you have kids..they might drop it.

Video playback is all good..I recommend Samsung G3 external.

if u just add few more bucks u could end up getting 2TB !
*
Not sure bro, but 2Tb not picking up....most opt for 1.5TB

most see it like this...between 1 to 1.5TB need to add RM50....but between 1.5 to 2 need to add RM70...
Thats not including the movies inside

But in actual

Actual size:------Diff-------RM----Per GB price
931 (1TB)-------------------230----0.247046187
1396 (1.5TB)-----465------280----0.200573066
1862 (2TB)-------466------350----0.187969925

Price is estimate only

2Tb is the cheapest per GB...but the Price of RM350 turns down most ppl
