No one playing Harimau Kayu 10 here? Finally bought teh game yesterday. A bit better than 09. The new putting system is very challenging - altho can switch back to the old system via games menu.
Got new live tournaments - participated last nite - end up in 41st position LOL. and i'll take part in US Open ! - virtually lah LOL. btw, the game got trophies... woohooo - but i cant import my golfers from previous game |

just bought the PS Eye, grabbed a few games from kei-end,and thanks to him found out how to remotely enable "PS Eye surveillance" XD
by entering the chat room,you can view the camera and anything in it's vicinity effectively making it a remote security camera  just tried it by using the internet,(my house connection-1Mbps line) and it's surprisingly smooth. next up need to go to a friends house(free wifi in my experience isnt very stable ) and test it out to see if it's as smooth as what im seeing now or not  |

I just saved my ps3 from the dead just now. Every time it started I got a frozen XMB with no icons. Thanks to recovery mode I chose the rebuild file system option and it went back good as new
Wiped out one season worth of jdrama on my hdd, backed up my savegames and cleared out my SFIV install. Selecting cammy from the list started the whole issue. I'm guessing doing an install on a nearly full HDD caused the SFIV install to be fragmented, and that made access time slower, screwing up the ps3 system |

Just bought GT5P...after a very long wait for it to come down in price...29.99...so that's about RM105..
Oh snap PSN Store MY sells it at RM198 and you have to pay extra RM10 to buy the PSN Top up card and since you have to buy 2 PSN Top up card...you paying RM 20 + RM94 for the same game but in Simplified Chinese (Yay since I can't read chinese).. Good luck PSN Store MY. p/s: MGS PS1 classic have to wait till next month laa nampaknya |

Demon's Souls When you are in the Nexus, exiting to the XMB will cause your PS3 to auto-restart previously. This, has been fixed. |

Tested 'Open Remote Play' just now.
Works exactly the same as PSP remote play, but you can use it on your PC/laptop.  |

Yeap, 2.8 has blocked ORP.
BTW, for those of you who has shared PSN content (games) with others, double check your game info and make sure the game is associated with the user ID you downloaded for. I've received some reports saying that after the 2.8 update, they couldn't start the game they shared with others anymore. They simply needed to re-download again and activating the content again from the master account. I know this problem has been around before even 2.76 as I've encountered it once. But after 2.8, it seems more apparent. Just a heads up. |

Gyus, I just got my PS3 yesterday. And I updated the firmware to 2.80 cause I was prompted by the system. After downloading, my games will not load anymore. Someone please help me!!!!!

Sadly my ps2 went kaboom long time ago and i missed several few of ps2 games like kingdom heart2 and ff12.
might be good news for me and i played PS1 classic FF7 on my PS3 Been expecting this move since they eagerly selling ps1 games, then why not ps2? |

Read the first post on this thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/921614 on the basic understanding of the firmware & proxy, and you will have to redirect the ps3-updatelist.txt to a file in your computer. Use CTRL-F to jump to the proxy section faster. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/639964 The URL depends on your PS3 region: fus for us ps3, fjp, fuk, fhk etc. edit: I noticed the format of the ps3-updatelist.txt has been changed by Sony (if compared to the afterdawn guide) the new one is: CODE # US Dest=84;CompatibleSystemSoftwareVersion=2.7600-; Dest=84;ImageVersion=00007f46;SystemSoftwareVersion=2.8000; I think you have to change the CompatibleSystemSoftwareVersion into 2.3600 to match your current firmware. The line denotes the lowest firmware permitted before being prompted with the mandatory/must-update screen. But if it still fail, change the second line, according to the afterdawn guide. Oh in the newest 2.80 firmware "Comment" appears when you triangle over your user avatar in the friends list instead of in Account management where it used to be in version 2.6 and stuff.
So just clear your comments and then log back in and it should be fixed. Known bug from previous fw releases that still hasn't been fixed. |

Well vorchiel, I'd say just ignore those keyboards with 1001 macro keys on them. Worthless on the PS3. |

i think i gonna skip WipeOut Fury- too much game backlog.
Last week i've picked up Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! for PSP that only available on PSN. Originally it was going to be a PS3 game. The game quite fun and addictive - but not for everyone. The game has only 8 level - i already beat that - and unlocked the hard mode. Oh, i've tried an experiment in Tiger Woods 10. You see my TW10 is Asian version - but the update on SG PSN store is always late. So i load the game but using my US account - buy a golf course at US PSN Store thru the ingame menu. Load my save game in my SG account - anddd... the new course is there ! Probably this game has no region lockout. |

Good news for future PS3 gamers maybe.
Sony has just announced that the cost of production for a PS3 has decreased 70% since its innitial launch. iSuppli estimated that the 60GB PS3 costs around $840. 70% off that cost means only $252 per PS3 made. And this is only an estimation, it is certainly a little bit lower on the front side. Keep your fingers crossed for something of a price-cut come this Gamescon when Sony will have their stupendous 3-hour long press conference |

what i am worried is they will start using cheap parts = easy to break PS3s. Then its gonna be a trend to have 2,3 ps3s for a gamer.

guys, i've read in the star today, citibank is offering (i cant confirm if its available now or soon) a credit/debit card, where you can set the address in the US.
The reason for allowing this is to allow us, malaysian to buy directly from US websites. So, ebay, gamestop, or whatever US websites that sometimes only allow US address or free shipping within US now is available to us. Here's how it works : The US address that we can enter is the Citibank Warehouse. So any purchase that we made via websites will be shipped there. If we have other purchase from other websites, we can easily store there together for 30days. Then in one pool, shipped them to Malaysia. To make it easy for us tracking the total cost, each item is individually invoice the total shipping cost. The only thing that interest me at the moment is once i got hold of the debit card, i can top-up directly into my US-PSN account! or get hold of any special limited time sales offer there. Need more info though. Is it available now? The article said the courier service in DHL, i wonder if other method of shipping is available..... plus is there other 'hidden' cost? DLC top-up is my first priority. I wish they can set one in europe. So R2 DLC is ok, or Australia for R4..... what do you guys/gals think? |

Looks like theres a new batch of fake DS3s all around. Improvements they made over the old fake DS3 (which wasn't around everywhere during then). 1. They included the reset button! You can actually reset your controller now. 2. The labels are rather correct, but still they are not in the correct size. 3. So called, even more looking "original" back sticker than Sony's one. Really though, the original has a protective film that can be peeled off. The bar code is sealed onto the protective film, if you take it off, the code comes off. The fake, once you take it off.... the entire thing is off! I'll seek out more findings. |

With the $100 price drop.... I'd still plunk down for the old PS3 if I'm to become a new PS3 owner. 40GB less space though... could be a problem for people who never just wants to upgrade for whatever reasons.

But I really think they should make it a multi-AV solution. Composite and Component combined all in one like how the 360 previously does (although it has also reverted to composite only now with the new Elite bundle). But ah well... People will come in saying how much can a HDMI cable cost right? Btw on the new firmware 3.0, I like how the What's New option been redesigned. Currently they're all just annoying RSS feeds at the moment and I always turn them off on any new PS3 consoles. There could be some issues though... especially with the PSN store for the video service. I'm betting for US PSN users who aren't from US innitially will get a full blank 9-slots when we hover it. |

Sony did say that video services will really take off soon for other regions and countries. So since Malaysia is an officially supported region now, well... I'd say sometime around early to mid next year. If we're lucky Sony may just pull another suprise next month in TGS!
I think the slim yea... would come 2 weeks to a month later. But it'll be interesting to see if all Sony outlets in Malaysia drop the price of the PS3 starting today, which I probably won't see happening until atleast next week. The current black color does make the PS3 Slim very cheap looking.... exactly like a china-designed item (okay, I KNOW it is made in china! lulz!).
There should be more colors. White and Silver will definitely help the PS3 slim not look so cheaply made. |

Firmware 3.00 comes out with Slim in September, then one month later a flood of hot games will be released. looks like sony planned this to make sure people will buy the Slim just to play all those hot games.

for those using streamyx:
if you are experiancing very slow speed on PSN, tmnut could have capped your streamyx connection. how to find out? just do a test on tm speedometer and if your 1MB or 4MB connection has been slowed down to 512K or less, then you have been capped! You guys should give the WET demo a go.
I was expecting this game to totally flop, but atleast from the demo... it was decent. I like the 1980's style and for once, the QTE isn't abused to kill bosses or what not. Give it a go guys. |
