No it's not overheating problem. My PS3 can still turn on and play and stuff. Just that It takes a lot of tries jsut to turn it on.
Here is exactly what happens, I press the power, the light goes green for a second (I can hear the fan and HDD) then turns yellow and beeps twice then flashes red (no more sound). Try it again and the same thing happens. After trying for a few times (sometimes 10+ times) then it turns on properly and works well as long as I don't turn it off.
yeah I won't be surprise if its YLOD. Sorry to hear that bro. My 40GB had funny color glitches before it crashes and I needed to repeatedly try and turn it on, sometimes it became okay after I made it stand on its edge. Most of the time, no.
All this seems to point to some defect that is caused by the motherboard slowly bending out of shape from being too hot, therefore making the contact area between the chip and the heatsink become smaller. That in turn makes the chip go even hotter and making it crash.
If you check the video on how to repair YLOD it basically shows you how to reflow back the contacts of the chip to the heatsink.
Guess I made the right choice to get a new one. Sending it to repair will just limit my gaming in some way again as well.Bernard said 5 hours per day gaming eh and cant play latest games?
