The nicotine patch is suppose to help ease the withdrawal symptoms. Your body had been taking in so much nicotine in the past. Sudden stop will make your body having all the withdrawal sx. U dont hv to stop on your own. U can go to your nearest klinik kesihatan and ask for help cos most of the KK will have klinik berhenti merokok. They have nicotine patch, pill, chewing gums to help u. It will be very expensive if u buy from shops.
U have a good goal there. All the best to u and your health!

Actually it is easy to stop smoking. No matter how heavy one smokes, once doctor gave the final ultimatum that either you smoke or you die, he/she automatically success in quitting smoking without the need to cut down gradually la, exercise la, nicotine gum la, etc. just stop like that like a car hitting a tree.
It means if your mental is strong, then it is very easy to quit

QUOTE(Blofeld @ Nov 23 2012, 01:50 PM) A doctor once told me that many smokers who are diagnosed with those serious illness or terminal cancer are capable to stop their habit immediately. YES, immediately! But of course, there are still some who don't bother to stop. So, it's all in your willpower to stop. I can personally vouch for this since it occurred to my mom once her doctor broke to her that she got cancer. Kinda funny how my years of pestering amounted to nothing but a bad news was all it took to get her to stop.

3 times tried to to quit, 3 times failed.
1. Friends around smoking. 2. Bad cough, Flu. 3. When boring and stress, smoking is the only thing I could do.

i tried quit smoking many times but the longest i can hold was 1month only. i went to klinik kesihatan for smoker purpose and also get nicotine pil from farmasi but that' all just temporary until i get back to smoke again... like 1 box perday. Right now im using e-chigar, very popular these day until goverment notice and said it' dangerous. (i believe they scared of no income from ciggarte if all smoker turns to e-chigar). I also combine with nicotine pil. It is very hard to quit and hopefully i can quit someday.

dont need doctor to tell you anything, if you want to quit, you will
Depends how much you want to stop

my advise... keep ur mind occupied with stuff, ie gym, running, jogging and not with alcohol or munching....
dun be like me when i was in the cold turkey stage.... ballooned to a whooping 130kg!
