u can't really know unless u touch it ya self coz there's no pwm sensor on biostar 790gx boards. at vcore < 1.45v, d mosfet still manage to handle prime imo if they're properly cooled. smile.gif

@ kunta,

sweet chip u have there, hopefully u'll get d DC issue sorted out quick. nod.gif

tmpin0 = nb
tmpin2 = cpu
so my tmpin1 = suppose to be pwm ke? noob here
thank ah khoo

i guess the volt not enough since at stock vcore 3.6ghz 3hrs pass.. when shaved 1 notch... it pass 30 mins only..

pwm is the ferrite chokes ya? noob here..
i did put some ramsink on it... it quite hot..but not too hot la..

what is the DC issue? hehehe

i supposed pwm = chokes + mosfets. no so sure too... sweat.gif

u need to care more bout d fets rather than chokes coz they're more vulnerable imo. so far i never heard of blow chokes, only blown fets due to high volt on cpu. smile.gif

DC = Dual Channel. biggrin.gif

oic..will transfer the ramsink to the fets la.but the choke hotter compared to the mosfets...
the dual channel..nothing i can do about it.. tried everything..if the ram is the culprit, i will try with cloudwan ram 2day.

Last night i rummage thru my PC parts treasure chest n i manage to find my old CM aerogate II..

Just a question here guys, since unlocking cores will disable the cpu temp diode, how accurate would be an external temp reader like aerogate meh? hmm.gif
I assemble everything and at idle it shows my cpu at around 44~49c.. If i'm not mistaken u need to minus a few celcius for external reader right??

Thinkin of using it permenantly to tell the cpu temp ah hmm.gif

P.S> Just to put the temp reader wire ontop of the cpu, i took out my CCF and slide it under it without reapplying a new layer of TIM is ok right? Ker i need to reapply?

yeah..be like me...oc with no TIM at all.wakakkaka.but i repent edi. sweat.gif
ur cpu temp diod not func ya when unlock..hmm.. i wish the temp i observe while unlock is accurate..
y dont u just try with the lock core and compare the temp reading with the aeroagate one..

woot bro, ur usin d big brother of cm aerogate 1 which i'm usin for fan controllin. i have 2 if 'em to control all d fan inside my case... smile.gif

as for d thermal probe, u can't sandwich it between d cooler & d ihs, just stick it at d side of base of d cooler. temp wise i think it's safe to take +/- 5'c. wink.gif

Miahahaha, it's an old thing i bought dulu2, but i stop using it coz it was kinda hard to do the cable management with my old CM Praety.. sweat.gif
Right now i only connect both of my large case fans to it, the CCF fan is still using its own speed controller + connected to the mobo..

U mean the thermal probe isn't supposed to be sandwich between the cooler n the cpu meh?? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
Aisey got to take it out ler tonite.. But if i just put it at the bottom of the HSF would the reading be accurate meh? sweat.gif

sandwich a thermal probe between heatsink base & ihs is always a non no bro, i used to think d same way u did but i was corrected by someone of higher knowledge back then. smile.gif

finished installin everything but still need to mod d side panel... imo those premium case should allocate some space at d right panel for hidin cables, it's kinda hard to hide even sleeved cables, we need something like this... brows.gif

Owh i see.. Looks like i gotta dismantle everything back.. laugh.gif

I hear u bro, my case also like that, what make it worse is that my sidepanel has those antivibration/noise foam n that makes it a lot more harder to find space to tuck in all those wires.. sweat.gif

Added on July 7, 2009, 11:28 amBy the way guys, just a little lite reading for u all (it has nothing to do with OC tho sweat.gif ):

Many thanks to our friends from AMD for supplying us with motherboard and processor and to Asbis for the video cards we needed for our test. Without them this review would not be possible.

wan to ask..
uncle did said that even if we run at stock vcore and max oc with it, the proc will slow down (i called it dying) eventually.
let say..stock vcore can 3.5ghz.. but later i lower down more vcore.. will the proc slow down also?

Hmm..Slow down?never heard before..I thought VCore only related to the CPU stability..The slowdown must have something intefering with it

Miahahaha, that's normal ah, every review we have to take with a pinch of salt tongue.gif

I would say that every processor is kinda like a car engine, thru the time efficiency will get better comparing when the engine is still new..
But after a long time like an engine also internal parts do wear down n efficiency will go down n dying is a probability too laugh.gif
In my opinion ah tongue.gif
