I plan to buy lcd tv for my xbox 360. I have seen the previous post, but i still cant make any decision. Is it hd ready enough for xbox 360, o full hd is better? my budget is rm 1800 - rm 2400

I don't recall any 360 games that have Full HD native.. Guess HD ready is the better choice if solely for 360 gaming

full hd better de..1080p..=)

y not consider lcd monitor?i use BenQ 22inch..1080p full hd, 2ms response time, hdmi port ready, 10000: 1 dynamic contrast (tis one a bit low, the more higher the contrast..the better the colour present)...then i buy a edifier speaker..overall is good for me d..low budget..=P

22 inch should set u back around 500-600 bucks. with speakers, add another 150. A decent speaker set should be enuff. unless you want to make a home theatre system, an lcd monitor is great. biggrin.gif and cheap too

Actually, the box for the Wolverine Origins games says it supports 1080p. It actually does looks nice and sharp on my lcd, even tho mine is only 1080i. Disembowelment and all.

davidssk: My opinion is that an LCD monitor will do great, but you better ask yourself how you prefer to game. Tho sharper, the LCD means you have to sit in a chair and lean in to play. An LCD TV means you can sit back on a couch and play.

sometimes the box said "1080p supported" doesn't mean the game is native 1080p...

it depend on your viewing distance. basically small screen will produce sharper quality compare to larger screen with same resolution, let say full hd (1920:1080 pixel). if u have large room better buy lcd tv with 32 or 37" full hd. if small room 24" 1080 lcd monitor is sufficient/. i hope it help tongue.gif

if i'm not mistaken 24" lcd monitor price around rm1000+-. grab a good speaker will cost not much than 1k maybe logitech or altec lansing.

IMO better to buy 32" LCD TV rather than 22" Monitor. tried both before, and i'll feel 32" give more enjoyable experience. currently my PC hook up to my monitor and tv, and every time i download HD video clips i'll ON my tv to see those clips coz it's more enjoyable. like the latest Arkham Asylum gameplay clips. drool.gif

i got sony bravia 32 inch at home oso...then benQ 22inch lcd monitor jz for gaming..when connect to bravia..it seem same la.unless ur eye very sharp... tongue.gif

both their spec is amost same..jz the bravia have higher dynamic contrast..so it look brighter and colurful a bit. but v my BenQ display, i dun tin is "gap" very much v my bravia juga, trust me,lcd monitor ad work very well dude

...the only gap is the price lo..haha...

my benQ i bought at RM580 at lowyat..speaker..Rm110

when u buy lcd monitor, makesure u check the resolution..some "hd ready" lcd monitor doesnt mean is resolution 1980 x 1??? de...i dun remember the figure d.so..check de resolution, must can support highest n 1080p (not 1080i)...then check the response time..better is 2ms,so u wont c any "shadow" when u play "speedy action" game...compare to 8ms or higher de, 5 ms response time oso consider good d. then check got hdmi port not..better is hdmi port ready lo..if not u nid use vga - dvi cable....the graphic will more a less "downgrade" a bit. then finally, check the lcd monitor got HDCP not..something like high bandwidth content XXX..sorry i not so remember the full name n short form.. sweat.gif ..tis is important dude..got tis u oli can play games v ur xbox360 or ps3 v no problem..or not the display will "run" .. smile.gif

hope the info helpful for u.and sorry for i not so remember the term, but i sure of nid check those spec b4 buy lcd monitor.

then, viewsonic is cheap n good brand with 3 year warranty... tongue.gif samsung 2233w oso not bad..u can go low yat lepak or other electronic shop.good luck

With that budget, just go for Full-HD, no harm there.

Hurm, I have no idea what Full HD and HD ready means, not going to research it, or bother reading people replies that tries to inform people of it.
It looks totally fine when I played in on 42.

Definitely go for a 32-incher LCD TV over a 20-something incher LCD Monitor. Feels so much better.

As to whether you want to spend the extra on a Full-HD TV, well, at these (relatively) small screen sizes it isn't really noticeable. I'd say get a HD-ready LCD TV, and use the remainder of your budget on a set of 5.1 speakers.
