Thank you Thank you...

One more question. I am trying to get a better lens to replace the current a350 single lens kit. What lens should i get for scenery photo. It seems like the normal lens taking photo is not as sharp as the nikon d5000.

u want to take scenary only or want to replace the kit lens?? if only for scenary, go for ultra-wide.. u'll love it.. if want a kit lens replacement, there's a lot to choose from.. 17-50, 16-80Z, 16-105 etc.. just state your budget and what features do you want, means what's your shooting style is..

For me i prefer to take scenery view sometimes with a person there and sometimes not. No need ultra wide lerrr... Maybe next time. Budget should be around 300-500.. Prefer a more budget lens heheheh..

here rough price that i saved from previous debate in this thread..
when u said budget less than RM500... can only get 2nd hand la if u lucky + quick enuff whistling.gif

:: RM 2450 :: Carl Zeiss 16-80mm F3.5-4.5 DT (sharp, great colors and contrast)
:: RM 16XX :: Sony 16-105mm F3.5-5.6 DT (good range)
:: RM 16XX :: Sony 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DT (good range)
:: RM XXXX :: Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC Macro (good close range plus F2.8 at 50mm)
:: RM 1500 :: Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro (nice macro for a std zoom lens + crazy MFD)
:: RM 1590 :: Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 DiII (F2.8 at 50mm)
:: RM 880 :: Tamron 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DiII (cheap all-rounder)

Another question i really wish to take some photo like this one on the website
http://thomashawk.com/2006/04/10-tips-for-...igital-slr.html

with the current a350 is it possible if i get a better lens?

i would suggest slowly save up and get 1 of the better one at 1 shot =)

err..there is only 1 picture in that website..if u refer to that one..i don see anything hard smile.gif..perhaps high iso is the only slightly harder thing for ur 350..but i think i saw he said he shoot with 5D now..so i guess shdnt really compare every details in the photo btwn ur 350 n 5D..the price itself tells u something

i would suggest tamron 1750 =)

wide enough for good scenery....try to use dark aperture(big F number)perhaps F/11? or F/15??? if shooting at night like the shot...try long shutter speed...but of cos if u use long shutter..u couldnt get the walking ppl like that photo...

for me.. i found sony kitlens quite decent sharp~ so i guess u better save up to get a flash either F42 or F58 before upgrade ur lenses..
afterall... the flash helps u to focus correctly and provide sufficient lights coz sony flashes got both ADI and TTL if u need it..

till today, i think that's an awesome lens smile.gif...i think its one of the best lens from sony...tried 2470 too but i stil prefer 1680 because 2470 is just too heavy for me;)....

overall its great lens and i really like it...it would be perfect with SSM! The range is just great from 16-80!

Braynumb, I might use the DOF Preview button if I shot a lot of macro, but I don't shoot macro...

Also, I already have it internalized somewhat - I'd shoot at F8 to F11 for getting most of everything sharp. F16 will introduce diffraction. F1.4 because I have to, because there isn't enough light, and F2.0 if the scene isn't too dark and I want more clarity.

I also like bokeh at F4 for most lenses... it doesn't look too exaggerated or unlike what your eye sees.
