It may be just me but your version of HDR looks pretty weird to me. Colors arent vibrant...I`m not touching on sharpness etc..just the entire feeling/color of that pic...it just looked weird.

I did some HDR when i just acquired my a200+kitlens. I did some HDR using photomatix using 1 JPEG only and it din look that bad too....however, it might be different preference la..

If you think its time to upgrade ur gear to get sharper images, do think twice...I dont think another cam will give u better sharpness...just my 2 cents

Btw, what other software do you guys recommend for HDR? Photomatix is pretty troublesome and I want a software that allows me to merge pictures only...i don wana do extra touching up etc.....i shot a lot of shots on my recent trip with -2,0+2 exposure....(because of the sunlight and i dont have a gradient ND filter) Any suggestions?

i dont really like it too.i used to like HDR when i just got a DSLR...but no choice la..shooting under super bright sunlight, i need 1 underexposed and 1 overexposed pic:)....correct me if this isnt HDR:)

but then whitey wont help much for traveling la.....i saw 2 guys in siem reap...one using whitey the other using UWA/WA....great combination i guess:).but the whitey guy is damn free la...

I think i seriously need a better tripod...i saw some guy using this manfrotto/giottoz (if not mistaken) that is so flexible that we can actually just twist the head, up,down,left right.....without any screwing/tightening..any good third party tripod around in kl? i heard of victory but where to get it/

hmm..i dont think D5000 can make ur pic sharper than ur current A350.......Assuming that you are using kitlens for both....

stick with ur kitlens 18-70mm and make full use of it. do you have the pics you took from D5000 and A350?
