in hindsight, im actually really greatful that we already have PSN cards.
our store launches, and we get the psn cards almost at the same time. look at the EU. for ONCE,for the VERY FIRST TIME (that i can remember) we have something THEY do not! and this isnt a HK or SGP card, but a MY CARD! we have something the EU does NOT! i find it to be fantastic, despite the prices of the games in the PSN store being somewhat high. at least we can already purchase goods off of it. unlike those in the EU who HAVE to depend on credit cards to purchase items off of the store. when/if the price goes down to RM100 per card,i'll probably purchase one straight away. ofcourse there are those who prefer to use CCs,but how many of us have one? i sure dont. and with reload cards it's even better,IMO. controlled spending. thing about CCs is that we might get carried away purchasing anything and everything since there's no actual limit(until your credit limit is up,which could be in the thousands or maybe even more) |

QUOTE(MistaFattah @ Jun 20 2009, 12:08 AM) but when u think about it again, let say u eat McD/TGiF/PizzaHut, all got taxes what. u pay more than what u eat, what u drink. QFTas Mistafattah says above, pretty much everything is taxed. hell, even going to the freakin cinema you have to pay tax! so if you think about it,it's not an "exclusive to stupid sony" problem. the only reason some places dont "seem" to have any tax,is because they absorb it into their menu/price already.(cinema ticket being a good example) you cant expect sony to absorb 10 bucks for each of the cards. if 100 people buy the card, that's 1000 bucks already and sony+charity....well, |

lol...it's good to see some people started to use MY PSN. as like Mistafattah said before.. nearly everything is tax in here
a bit off topic, i like hod John D from Capcom reply to the request of it's fan in PS Blog especially the bolded part QUOTE So to celebrate, we’re going to make good on a promise we made a while back. After all of the constructive (sometimes, brutally constructive) feedback from the community, Capcom USA and GRIN decided to go back to the lab and work on an update for Bionic Commando Rearmed. But wait, it gets deeper. Not only are we adding trophy support (that’s right son), those over-delivering, son-of-a-guns got a little crazy and are offering a bit more: QUOTE I hope all of you recognize the important role you play in helping us make better games. Our dialogues on PlayStation Blog and the Capcom Unity forums were the primary motivators for this update, and as long as this open communication is done constructively, good things can and will happen (Honestly, all the Eff Crapcom stuff didn’t help the process, lol). We may not be able to follow through on every request from the community, but I guarantee you, we are listening. Thanks to all of you for the feedback and the involvement, please keep it up! |

it's typical business by means of more profit for cards lol.no topup card should be paid more than what the card amount is.see at phone prepaid air time card.it illegal nowdays to sell a price more than what the card amount is.there is no tax for prepaid cards period for the card those sold in that country
further more presume that psn store already has tax coz of it expensiveness(even with currency exchange doesnt fall that much),why would we are force to pay extra rm10 for every card we buy that are already made for our country. even so with rm100 in psn store, there are bound to be balance from it that we cant do anything with unless we topup somemore. it just full of crap and a rip off that we are force to pay extra rm10 for every cards we buy. for me i dont know either sony or sony malaysia or sony malaysia partner shop side that charge for rm10 for every psn cards. For some reason I tried loading my PSN my account [US has been set to default, last time I use MY account was when I registered it], to my surprise MY PSN Store is up. And to my other surprise no credit card, which lead me to here, where else can any geeky Malaysian go.further more presume that psn store already has tax coz of it expensiveness(even with currency exchange doesnt fall that much),why would we are force to pay extra rm10 for every card we buy that are already made for our country. even so with rm100 in psn store, there are bound to be balance from it that we cant do anything with unless we topup somemore. it just full of crap and a rip off that we are force to pay extra rm10 for every cards we buy. for me i dont know either sony or sony malaysia or sony malaysia partner shop side that charge for rm10 for every psn cards. Kinda agree with this one. When you think about it those prepaid card are just like gift vouchers; I'm pretty sure there's no tax from the government on this one. Because of that is the case; you'll be paying Rm 110 for a rm 100 Jusco vouchers, which I'm not sure is the case. When you really think about it when you buy the prepaid card you're just converting your money to another form, another currency. Why should this be subject to tax, it's subject to exchange rate but the exchange rate is fixed 1:1. So when the employee from Sony told you the government is taxing them, bullshit, I don't see the government taxing my jusco gift vouchers. The only logical reason why there's that 10% extra is that those prepaid card doesn't come with a high margin or worser zero margin. Since the store wouldn't be getting anything from the PSN-Store transaction they bump up the price by 10 ringgit and blame the government. How much margin are the guy who's selling those hotlink RM10 prepaid, 3%. Do you think 3% is good enough for a Sony-Store And another thing about the DLC [i know this is xbox term but people used it] goods on PSN my being taxed, I found out that a bit too good to be true. If you've been reading news on video gaming, certain states in the US has introduce tax to DLC content early this year, EARLY THIS YEAR. And some Sony employee are telling you that the Malaysian Government has this figured out on the first implementation of DLC distribution channel in Malaysia. They got it right the first time round. If that is the case, Najib deserve some respect. On some people saying that the cost of building an infrastructure in Malaysia is expensive, I couldn't agree more it's damn expensive. Do you know how much a leased line for 6MB will cost a cost a corporation RM400,000 a year. Damn Telekom. That 'll be the bane of any IT infrastructure in Malaysia. Then again the internet doesn't care where you place your server. You can have a business in Malaysia but a server operating in Sealand. You can even share facility with other Country-PSN facility. Our load is very low. So you can't say the game is expensive because it's more expensive to set up something in Malaysia. So in the end why do I have to pay premium price on these item. I even have to pay premium on the method of payment. Scarcity and monopoly, damn u sony, damn you government for being smart [if they do tax DLC], damn you Telekom [we've been at 1Mb for 6 years at the same price, DAMN YOU Telekom, 1Mb is not boradband anymore], damn you astro [keep jacking up the price, add some stupid channels], damn you Tenaga [jacking up tariff and saying bad things about ma company] Drank too much red bull, sorry |
