StarCraft II Poker Set: Available At Blizzon 2009

user posted image
user posted image

Play like the marines and bet it all! Exclusively available at BlizzCon, this terran-themed StarCraft II poker set includes everything you need to start your very own interstellar poker night, including four sets of Vegas-style poker chips, two decks of cards, and a handy case to keep everything together. Each playing card features a unique design by artists from Blizzard Entertainment’s cinematics department—and it’s the closest you’ll get to a wild night in a Mar Sara saloon.

This set was designed to be a “field issue” poker set. The designers imagined what a set of cards would look like after having been played for a period of time and what they would do to the cards. The result are these unique cards scarred by countless battles on the Terran front.

Each case contains 98 chips, 2 decks of cards, and 5 dice.

Interested in getting one? Perhaps it's a good idea to bulk it & gain some vespene gas in return? tongue.gif

Wait, where did Blizzard confirmed D3 (or even SC2) will be out in 2010? biggrin.gif
Way too early to say D3 or SC2 will be out in same year

Imo, there are high chances they will be, but again it's Blizzard, I really do not take anything for granted.

They are among the very very few companies that can say "Lol, suck it" to fans going apeshit about release dates and push back of it.

They get away with it because they do deliver when it comes out and because they do make some good games.

It's really gonna be out when they say so, predicting release dates before Blizzard say a fix date is like predicting the weather 6 months in advance imo...

as far as i know, blizzard has only announce SC2 to be in 2010 due to battlenet development for the game...
in other words, the game is close ready but the battlenet issues is the one slowing it down...

I think the campaign is another issue too that is stopping SC2 from releasing early.

Who knows what those lazy asses are doing they can blame it on anything. Lets just see when the beta comes out b4 we even think of the full release.

Out in 2010 could be 31st dec of 2010 for blizzard.

Close to ready still means that that have to settle beta 1st, and since beta hasn't even been announced means that they just have unfinished work.

What i know is MP is really close to completion now.

The campaign and Battlenet 2.0 is still half way.

I rather see a complete game than a half assed one with loads of problems.

I think they just want to be extremely careful on SC2 so that they dont piss off their Koreans friends.

It still makes me wonder why it takes so long. Are they still unhappy with it?

Battle.Net is no where near done. They are still looking for web designers and even lead designer for it.

WoW expansions are based on an existing game where the engine and everything is done. A better comparison would be Warcraft 3.

Yeah,you got a point.

They just started Battlenet,though.

I think thats the major reason why they delay it so long as there are quite a lot of things to implement.

Yar, I feel SC2 is the "big" thing that is coming out for Blizz right now, and they definitely dun want to come out with a crap, they know really lots of people are waiting on it and will be very very pissed off if they come out with a bad game or half assed one, including solo campaign.

WoW is their milk cow, they keep it around to make lots of benefice and fund their others projects (I have nothing against WoW, I played more than 3 years so it's not blind criticism), xpacs are not that bad to come out tbh, they have the mechanisms perfectly tuned down now (do not stand in Fire/Ice/Lightning/Poison/Little Ponies etc.). Northend has more or less a complete design already so it's copy paste and reskinning.

SC2 is a new game.

WOW is already there, they are just adding additional stuff. unless there're graphical, technical or gameplay total breakthrough.

Unlike other studios.. Where they usually pressure to complete games with the mimimu, set of time so they can make money.

Blizzard have no incentive to do so.. As WOW is generating income daily so by giving WOW fans something to look foward to every year will keep the subcribers alive.

SC2 is just an icing of the cake.. So thats why they are taking their goddamm sweet time on it.. So they use all this tech trees and poker game set to keep the hype running..
