Wait a minute,are you using Steam to play L4D2? If you are not using it to play L4D2,the reason that your L4D2 demo is crashing is not because your rig is having any problems.It's because pirated Steam games have heaps of problems.Crashing,AI Node Error,bad textures,lousy frame rates and the list goes on.

In short,never pirate a Steam game,as you get much more problem than the legit ones.

Say you have downloaded 4 out of 10 GB which is 40% when you stop downloading.Then,you restarted Steam,and the download progress shows 0%,it's not redownloading the whole game again.The 0% means the 0% out of the remaining 6GB you have to download while the other 4GB already in your com.
