100mil is peanuts now considering all the big money offer from citeh and RM
better utilize the current crop and wait for next season

And he got help from a team of great scout...

The only man I want to see replacing him is Jose Mourinho.. everything the old man have, already in Jose body..

Look how Chelsea struggle after he left..

For me Fergie just taking it easy...as he know that if he wanna buy some one now..the player value will increase more then double due to Real Madrid money, City un-realistic player-evaluation, and its well known United now got tons of money to dispose...

zhirkov coming to chelsea?

http://goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/07/...medical-reports

also.. MU in for ashley young?

http://goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009/07/...or-ashley-young

now.. i think young shouldn't leave Villa just yet. He should play another season and look at things next season. O'Neill needs to get his priorities straight and address his midfield and defense a.s.a.p. if not, young, agbonlahor and others might go away.

sometimes i feel pity to those midtable/bottom clubs selling their best players to top 4 clubs.it's not fair just because the top 4 clubs have the money doesn't mean they can buy the best players from other team.other team also wants to be the champions or at least breaking into the top 4.

I can find two flaws in your argument:

1) It's not as though the "big four" pinch players from other Premier League sides all the time. They do sell players to other sides as well.

2) To say that the "big four" spends the most each season isn't accurate either. Sunderland were one of the biggest spenders last season, and look where they ended up. With bad management, it doesn't matter how many players you buy. If it were down to that, you and I would be football managers now. Other than Sunderland, Spurs, Aston Villa and Manchester City all spent a fair amount of money. Look at Man City this season and who knows how much Pompey have to spend now? If anything, the "big four" have more appeal because of our popularity and maybe even history and tradition. Kaka turned down a move to City only to sign for Real later. Why?

The most important thing in a football team is a teamwork among the players wink.gif Anyhow, it's not official yet whether it's CR9 or not, i fancy the chance of Benzema wearing that number.

Prem rivals interested in Valbuena

Liverpool and Wigan are reportedly locked in a battle with 'several' rivals to sign highly-rated Marseille midfielder Mathieu Valbuena.

user posted image

Valbuena is a target for a host of clubs across Europe as doubts grow over his long-term future at Stade velodrome.

Reports emanating from France have suggested Wigan have tabled a bid for the diminutive midfielder, while the likes of Liverpool, Everton and Chelsea have credited with an interest in the player.

Valbuena's agent, Christophe Hutteau has confirmed Wigan have expressed an interest in the 24-year-old, but that the player would prefer a move to a top club in the Premier League with Liverpool also monitoring the skillful midfielder's situation at Marseille.

"Mathieu would very much be interested in playing in England as the Premier League is the best in Europe," Hutteau told Sky Sports.

"Wigan are interested in Mathieu, but I think Mathieu would like to go to a big team in England.

"Liverpool are also interested in Mathieu, but so are teams in Spain, Germany, Italy and Russia.

"I think Mathieu will leave Marseille and I think it is very possible he could play in England this season."

Yes I remember Valbuena clearly as well having played Marseille 4 times in a few years. Would be a decent signing. Energetic and full of running. Seems to have the traits that will endear him to the Kop.

INTER PRICED OUT OF CHELSEA DEAL
Inter Milan have given up on signing Chelsea duo Ricardo Carvalho and Deco for the time being.

The duo had been linked with a move to the San Siro where they would link up with former Porto coach Jose Mourinho.

Reports had suggested Inter sent a representative to London to talk with Chelsea about a possible deal for the two Portuguese players, but the Italians' transfer consultant Lele Oriali insisted that was untrue.

He told Sky Italia: "Inter don't need emissaries, the president didn't send anyone and neither did I.

"Having had the fortune of being able to speak directly with Chelsea, we know that they are ready to negotiate over these two players, but the asking price is too high.

"The deal is not as simple as it might seem. It's unrealistic for us in the current conditions. At the moment the deal is closed, and we don't know if it will open up again later on."

Hmm, I thought they'd want to sell Deco and bring in some fresh young bloods?

Bad move by Carlo. I'm sure that the Portuguese duo wanted to get united with their countryman.
