wow. that kind of article is kinda distracting but it made sense. It doesn't give me a good image from our new signing anymore. I expect him to fill the defense hole effectively and immediately.but now, i think we need some time to evaluate him.Again, we seldom see Wenger made early signings. In Wenger, we trust.

if arsenal sign benzema, can he become the new henry or anelka?
*
Henry and Anelka is something with pace, finishing, and technique. Benzema is totally different player. His style of playing is something like Tevez I believe. Control, Heading and Finishing. Something like a pivotal striker

From his YouTube vidoes, he reminds me a bit of Fernando Torres actually. He's got more skill and speed than Tevez, who's more of a grafter and workhorse IMHO.
*
Alright, I have not seen many games of him. Noticed him during his international games only. I am wrong maybe

BREAKING NEWS: Fiorentina: We Are In Negotiations To Sell Felipe Melo To Arsenal
Fiorentina have made an official announcement on the rumours surrounding Felipe Melo...

Arsenal are the only club to have made a bid for Fiorentina star Felipe Melo, the Italian club have announced. The Viola appear prepared to sell the Brazilian star with Emmanuel Eboue moving the other way as part of the deal.

Sky Sport Italia claimed earlier today that Juventus had reached an agreement with Felipe Melo’s agents, and that the Bianconeri would meet with Fiorentina officials on Tuesday in order to conclude a transfer fee.

However, Fiorentina have now posted an official announcement on their website, in which transfer chief Pantaleo Corvino sets the record straight.

Corvino claims that Arsenal are the only club to have tabled an offer for Felipe Melo, and suggests that Fiorentina are prepared to sell if Emmanuel Eboue is included as part of the exchange.

“The director [Corvino] points out that Arsenal FC are the only club that has come close to [Felipe Melo’s] release clause.

“Fiorentina, in turn, has proposed that the clubs reduce the amount of this clause by entering into negotiations the right back Eboue.”

00It has been verified. BBC Football. It seems that Wenger is quite keen on Melo. I really hope he is the player we are looking for. I like Eboue very much, but sometime we have to make sacrifices to suceed. I really think Eboue has more to offer

well then.. if melo already completed to juve, then it's safe to say that we're not shopping anymore, except maybe that Matuidi fella. ehehe.. i can't say Cana because i don't think he's leaving.

If ade news starts to resurface, u know it's bullock. but if it's damn quite, expect announcement by end of the month... Ade to AC. haih...

but bear in mind. our main objective for this transfer window is to get a reliable dm. I do not think an Ajax captain is enough. we need a few more

I still have very high expectation for Diaby, Bendtner and Vela. Our main objective from this transfer window have not achieved yet. Bring back Flamini if necessary.

Yea, he definitely deserve a first team place due to his effort. Don't forget Denilson is working hard as well. But are they good enough to provide cover for the back four and partner with Cesc well? I doubt that. I still think of getting another DM. Song can cover any defensive role anytime if the defender got injured. Senderos and Djourou are able to compete with the center back. Denilson can also cover the whole midfield or wing side if anyone got injured. It might be too many people packed in the team, but when the injury wave hits the team. We will know how to handle it with backup players. I do not want to see another repeat of last season anymore so do the other Gunner fans. You might think Song and Denilson are enough to challenge the trophy. Think again when you looked back at last season. How they got bully by those top team. They need more time. We can't afford to pay league points for their growth.

There's no any signing can assure the points or defintely will increase the possibility.
No one expected Fabregas could replace Patrick Veira but he did now.
Arsenal need someone like Gilberto Silva, a concrete wall behind Fabregas.
well, jz my little opinion.
anyway, we believe in AW!!
*
Sorry if I pissed you up with my messages. Fabregas and Wenger never replaced Veira. Fabregas is attacking minded. The closest player to replaced Veira is still Flamini. Yeah, you are right. No signing can guarantee the success, but it might be useful when the team hit by injury. Who knows what happen tomorrow. Worse to come worse if nobody come. We will have to depend the mentality of the players to survive until the World Cup or some must worked hard to get into the World Cup squad.
Just my opinion

I think selling Adebayor will the right offer will be good. Getting Chamakh at the same time to replace will be good as well. Like you guys said, fearing Chamakh will be the Adebayor when he first came. but bear in mind. Will he be our first choice. Selling Adebayor will give room to other youngster to grow. So, it will bring more benefit to the club plus we can slim down the wages. We got plenty of forward. Eduardo, Walcott, Bendtner, Vela and Ashavin all are desperate to play Adebayor's position. I just don't see how Adebayor will regain his 30 goals per season form again. I still don't favour Wenger selling him to Man City. He is still a threat, but whereelse can he go? which club can offer us a better price?I fear Man City will be as strong as Chelsea in the coming years if they continue to buy and buy

I do not agree selling Adebayor, unless there is an offer too hard to turn down - despite having a drop in form this season, he has indeed proven that he "can" be a 30-goal striker - at least better than a newcomer, especially someone from other league.

I do not agree buying another striker - we have plenty of them.

I do not agree with those who is thinking that buying a great player will dramatically improve the team. It is an ambitious hope but we do not get an Arshavin in every purchase.

Even if we are going for great player, I will keep my fingers crossed until I see real performance and commitment to the team - probably in the beginning of the season - and yes, the same goes to Thomas Vaermaelen smile.gif

Huntelaar is another Eduardo. Eduardo is much more better than him. Somebody like Ruud. Good in finishing and heading. Why is he rated so highly? Because he made his name with Ajax while Eduardo made his name in Croatia league. Who the hell is going to watch Croatia league by the way

It depends on the boss biggrin.gif

If our finance is shaking, 20-25 million should be an acceptable offer.

If our finance is good enough, I think retaining Ade for "at least" another season is not a bad idea after all wink.gif

I still think 25M is the best offer he can get. I want Bendtner, Walcott and Vela to step up. Not to say I hate him but I rated him quite high due to his work rate.Every player in AFC is special.

Wenger knows what is he doing, but I still don't favour selling him to Man City

Man City not a threat -Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson has dismissed local rivals Manchester City as a major threat to Manchester United's Premier League title this season.

City manager Mark Hughes has this summer spent millions on building a squad to break into the top four.

But United boss Ferguson said: "It won't be easy for them to win anything, even with the players they have bought.

"I can't look at them as our main competitors. Liverpool and Chelsea are our main competitors."

Emmanuel Adebayor is City's latest addition to a squad which that includes Gareth Barry, Roque Santa Cruz and former United favourite Carlos Tevez.

Striker Adebayor signed from Arsenal for about £25m, midfielder Barry was bought from Aston Villa for £12m and City paid Blackburn about £18m for Paraguay international Santa Cruz.

Hughes is keen to bring in Chelsea captain John Terry, while an approach for Joleon Lescott has already been rejected.

But Ferguson believes the only place their rivals can challenge his side is in the battle for headlines.

Speaking from his side's tour in Malaysia, he added: "We are being challenged for the back pages.

"Manchester City are getting all the back page stories and they will hold that position for the rest of the season because there is a lot of interest in what they have done and a lot of speculation about whether it is going to work.
"They have bought a lot of high profile players but they have 10 strikers.

"That is a hell of a lot. I have not spoken to all the managers but the one or two I have are saying 'Who are they going to leave out?'"

"How does he (Hughes) pick a team? We are all interested."

Hughes (centre) is still looking to strengthen his squad

City's spending has been second only to Real Madrid this summer - following the high-profile signings of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Kaka.

But Ferguson sees definite differences between the way the money is used at both clubs.

"Real Madrid are different to Manchester City," he said.

"They have an unusual culture of not really bothering about money because they can use their name to write off debt. No Spanish bank will ever close them down.

"Manchester City's culture is about cash. It is about having money and using it."

Ferguson also believes Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger could find this coming season a struggle, having sold their star striker to City.

He said: "Arsenal have the biggest job to do because they have sold Adebayor and don't seem to have the money the rest have got.

"How Arsene develops his team will be his biggest test.

"The one thing we know about Arsenal is that they will play some of the best football you will see and they will create chances.

"They could easily re-establish themselves and challenge for the league again."
[I][SIZE=7]
I don't know what to say actually. I have lots of respect to this manager. Adebayor is a lost. I am confiedent the team will be able to cover his lost, but bear in mind. Our main objective have not achieve yet. A really reliable DM. Ferguson is dropping a hint I supposed. His words is like hinting our team is lack of some kind of player. Anyway, who cares. In Arsene I trust

Wanger planning to put Nasri as DM for next season ?? sweat.gif

I got that feeling long time ago. Maybe this is the reason why AW doesn't want to buy any DM yet. There are no rumors about getting a DM. He played quite well last season in that position. With Arshavin, walcott, eboue and rosicky at the wing. I do not see why we can't win the trophy this season unless we are hit by injuries.
Nasri for DM?
Aggressive? Yes, in fact he is more aggressive than Song and Denilson
Tracking? Yes, He done that very well last season.
Why not a try?

I think Ashley Cole is trying to polish somebody's boot whistling.gif After all, he goes to Chelsea because of the so-called "to win trophies" (and bragged that he has won twice but has forgotten with which team he won it). He's just looking at the greener field.
IINM, Nasri has done a decent job as CM - defensively. He's not a DM ! Do not expect him doing Makelele. AW has not announce it, it's just some misquotes from some creative reporters.

AW just hinted that he would play Nasri together with Fabregas in the midfield. For me, it's 2 CMs in the middle sharing the defensive duties.

But still, I'm in doubt of his size hmm.gif
*
I dont think in AW is thinking about DM. For all these years, he had not bought any player from that position. I think he wanted a attacking minded DM where he can swap with fabregas efficiently to attack and to defence. Just like Flamini and Cesc, Petit and Veira. They took turn to attack and defense. I think he is looking for some creative midfielder who is willing to do the dirty job. Diaby Song and Denilson does not do that effectively enough but Nasri done quite well. Well, we will see how.

Man City are close to completing a £14m deal for Arsenal's Kolo Toure and hope to sign Joleon Lescott from Everton for £25m.

Only Thomas Vermaelan is our only defensive reinforement, any other option if this fella go to Eastland? Words out that Senderos in his way out too

Probably some fake rumors. Why Kolo want to leave? No point seeing Wenger sell him. Is 14M worth for Kolo? I would say with his quality he is worth at least 25M.
