I am wearing a Oakley Dictate 4.0 frame together with high index hoya compat lenses that costs RM1600++ after discount.

It's a titanium frame that is light, very strong and very durable. Most importantly, it's stylish and people have a different mentality on you. Especially for those shop assistants who can recognize you are wearing Oakley, they tend to make extra efforts to serve you better.

Overall, it's a quality product as I always drop it on the floor without the need to worry. The only problem that I have is the pewter/matte black color is dropping out perhaps I am too rough using it tongue.gif

I had an old SPLICE with Ice lens...
Got stolen along with my bag... Sigh...

That model has been discontinued and it was one of the only frames that could fit my flat fat face (Triple F!)
Now looking to find a similar fitting pair of oakleys...

I tried the JULIET and it was comfortable without touching my cheekbone (Most oakleys i tried touches my flesh below my eyes)... But they just look too small on my big face...

Does anybody have any experience with the X-Metal XX?
I know they are bigger so should be a better fit but i can't seem to find any shops that carry this model, they only have Juliets and Romeo 2 and Half-X...

i bought my intake 2.0 with normal high index lense for around RM700 from focus point.. i think its a good buy, other shops selling the frame alone for RM650.

During sales you can find focus point giving up to about 30% sales for oakleys. you can actually bargain a lil with them in Focus point. =)

actually, is it necessary to go for polarized lenses as i read somewhere that normal lenses might not give enough protection and in some cases might even be bad for eyes?

yeah some1 answer for this question i wanta know too.

Hv a square wire 2.0 polarized. planning to buy half jacket standarad frame, polarized very soon - inspired by Ben Foster in The Messenger lol what color lens is it btw if anyone knows. I tried it on, damn love it.

due to that, I'm planning to sell my SW2.0, do u think it's wise? Since it's out of production edi...and i wonder wht else i can do wit it any more, can it be used as RX? or there is a specifically SW2.0 RX? if so, what difference is it.

And want to ask why is Juliet so special beside the price? srsly, i wanto know.

Thanks

Anyone got other Oakley products besides glasses/shades?
I would imagine Oakley-freak would have their clothes, backpack, watches etc!

I still love the lens, prescriptions are just too expensive.

Had my first Oakley, square wire in early 2000. Lost it during work assignment. Then bought a Rudy Project with similar design. But just not as comfy. Probably psychological thingy smile.gif
Then bought a e-wire. Still having till today. Looked old fashioned so only wear during driving. Current pair - Crosshair titanium. Hope to change the e-wire lens to polarized.

Beware when you buy a polarized Oakley...

Once you get used to it - it's hard to go back to any other sunglasses - especially if its non-polarized.

Im just got my second pair of shades - just to have one in each car !

Reliance Bangsar, Jalan Telawi 2. Picked up my Pit Boss there.

Repost from the sunglasses thread, and since all my shades are Oakleys, why not post it here? tongue.gif

QUOTE
Got the Oakley Ducati Inmate and the Jawbone with two lenses while was in Melbourne, and 2 days back, the Oakley Pit Boss. Reliance Bangsar has all three Pit Boss models, I had a hard time choosing between the matte black titanium frame/black iridium lens and the polished black frame/black VR28 lens. End up with the former because of the frame contrast (matte black & titanium does this nicely). I was dead set on the VR28 lens, since I brought back memories of my first sunglasses, the Mohave (yes, that TV Shopping kind! laugh.gif), plus the VR28 lens enhances detail and depth perception, perfect for my work. Had to settle for the normal black iridium on matte black/titanium since I like the frame so much.

The VR28 Pit Boss is still in Reliance though, and Karen sorta foresee me coming back there to reclaim it, so we'll see. tongue.gif

My other older Oakley glasses also include Oakley Juliet with Fire iridium, a banged up Penny, Ducati Monster Dog I've lost in the Indy Jones ride @ Disneyland (all the heaving and hurling in that ride thrown it off my cap where I placed it cry.gif), and a Thump 2.

Their respective images in the spoilered section below:-

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
I'm waiting for my Oakley Plate either from Nuremberg or someone from Australia to help me buy it from the O Store there. Not sure if I should pick up my own C Six for my next LA trip, but considering hard on it.

As responded by others, CoolShades stock some of the clothing line. Alternatively, you can head to Oakley Malaysian HQ, Revelstoke at Megan Avenue, for a more expanded lineup.

Growing old does that to you. I have wireframe Oakley myself, approaching the Rayban look. It's not just about the frame anymore, especially when protecting the eyes which is my bread and butter. Oakley lenses are the reason why I chose them. The frames are just icing on the cake.

Guys, something to ponder, I plan on buying Oakley Prescription which is Dictate 4.0, now this is my first time wearing spectacles so do Oakley Prescription stock lens comes with power? Let's say my power is 180~200, can I ask the optometrist to adjust the stock lens power to my requirement? Or do I have to purchase different lens such as Hoya High Index? Thank u~ smile.gif

Hey guys,

got some question here for oakley fans.

planning to get my 1st oakley today at times square.

i tested few models such as monster dog, gascan, oil rig n the latest jawbone as well.. the prob is, it felt kinda tight n the frame doesnt fully fit in my face. im not fat,so i dun have very big head or wide faces... = ="

so is this normal for u guys? coz all these models above is non-asian fit type. but it ald felt so small n tight. doh.gif

as for radar it feels good n comfortable..

i don't think you could get polarized lens with frame for that price coz the lens alone cost around rm400+ ? unless it's not ori blink.gif ..mine is Polarized Radar Path SGD$390 (rm900) ...price 30% cheaper than shop coz 1 guy in Sg is doing bulk ordering from US rclxms.gif

I finally got myself my first two pairs of Oakley (and also my first two pair of sunglasses)!

A Polarized Titanium Square Whisker and a Radar Path. Got them both from Oakley Vault for a great price.

After checking em out, I feel that I prefer the C-5 alloy version of the Square Whisker (which I tried out at local shops). The titanium version is just too light that it feels like plastic and flimsy. The C-5 alloy version gave me a much more concrete feel. I had the same verdict when trying the Nanowire 4.0.

This may sound odd to you, preferring C-5 alloy over titanium, so I was wondering if anyone has similar thoughts? Or maybe it's just me being a newbie to sunglasses blush.gif

Oh well, I'll just grow to love it I suppose. Titanium should be much stronger anyways, I think laugh.gif

Also, my Square Whisker is pretty imbalanced. Any ideas if the local dealers would entertain me if I ask them to help me adjust, given the fact that I didn't buy it from them?

PS: The carbon fibre vault is awesome!

Sign up with Comcast . They allow goods purchased in the US to be shipped to an address in Oregon ( where there are no sales or state taxes ) , purchases consolidated & shipped back to Malaysia. All this for a fee of course.

It depends on one's facial features eg Nose Bridge & temple length . Again this is generic & there may well be individuals who find the non-Asian fit suits them best. I for one could never find RTW shirts to fit due to the short sleeve lengths they sell here.

Sign up with Comcast . They allow goods purchased in the US to be shipped to an address in Oregon ( where there are no sales or state taxes ) , purchases  consolidated & shipped back to Malaysia. All this for a fee of course.

BTW best make sure you order Oakleys with Asian fit unless you happen to be a Caucasian or possess Caucasian like facial features

thnx ya

No -they provide a payment & mailing service.

1. If you have an AMEX card , they have a tie up with them
2. They facilitate payment when US credit cards are requirement for payment
3. They furnish an Oregon address ( where there is no sales tax ) to enable purchases to be consolidated before shipping.

I used Shipito. You might want to look into comGateway as well. Shipito's default address is blacklisted, so I actually had my Oakleys sent to a staff's own address (at least that's what I think happened). Not sure if comGateway's address is blacklisted or not.

ComGateway has a tie up with American Express & includes a service which enables them to pay on your behalf ( for vendors that require a US credit card )

Both provide such service. Not sure what benefit of having an Amex would be for comGateway, but they do have more payment options than Shipito. The problem is with their delivery address, whether or not comGateway would go that extra mile if their address happens to be blacklisted. I know Shipito does, but have no experience with comGateway so I can't say for sure.

In general, comGateway should be cheaper for purchasing from Malaysia (unless bigger, BIGGER packages, Shipito would be cheaper). Shipito is cheaper to where I'm at though biggrin.gif

Just curious ... if we place the Oakley in the car everyday, indirectly under hot-sun (Malaysia weather) but inside the car .. would it affect or deteriote the lens condition (ie polarize or iridium, etc), of cos not affecting the durability of the frames since it is design to be "hardcore" ..

Read it somewhere in the web that lens would slowly discolour off.

BTW, do you all know tht cleaning kit refill is for life in US. See the responses from Oakley CS response.
Surprisingly, this is not applicable to Malaysia regardless if it is at Oakley stores or not.

hi peeps!

me too was at the clearance sales!
anyone caught the frogskins on auction?

i din manage to find i wanted either ..the usual though old stock, old models but the prices for some were realli attractive eg. saw a dude scoring a romeo for 6xx

anyways ..will be going to get wat i want elsewhere (adding to me atm 3 pairs) if ur wondering ..i'll be making the acquisition from a shop in ss2, next to babyland/ savemart ..they are giving me a 30% disc (almost comparable to the prices online) as opposed to the much reputable "reliance" which are giving me only a 10% sad.gif anyhoos if u peeps venture there -look for Paul -real nice accommodating dude and yes dey do custom orders as well biggrin.gif

need some help here!!

there are some 'wrinkles' the surface of the lens of my sunglasses. not sure what's the problem. went back to the shop (focus point) , but as it's more than 1 year old, they want to charge me rm400++ to change the lens.

would like to know is it normal for the repair cost to be so expensive? or are there any other alternatives where i can get my sunglasses repaired?

thanks very much for your advices.

if it's a pair of sunnies ..lens can be changed ..y nt ask one of the sellers to get you only the lens and you change it urself ..assuming of coz your sunnies is a model like the radar, whisker etc.

Besides using the Oakley lens cleanser, can we use normal light PH soap like bb's shower with water to wash the lens? My cleanser is abt to finish but dunt want to waste $$ buying another bottle yet .. Like i said, in US .. refill is for life .. sad that this is not applicable in Bolehland.

I was wondering, what is the price for polarized Oakley Hijinx in KL particularly the one with matte black/gray color. Any idea whereabouts in KL I can get this Sunglasses? I crave for this stuff and want it ASAP.

Cheers

I like Oakley Juliet all these while, but still dodn't buy it even my company can claim. this is because I'm short sighted and if change the glass, it will cost me another 1.2k. Total will be around 2.4k with the frame... Don't think worth it. Currently I have 2 pairs of Oakley prescription glass

hmmm hmm.gif

I used to buy a lot of Oakleys before the warranty policies changed many years ago. Till now my total number of Oakley eyewears are:-

Prescription:-
A-Wire 2.0 Dark Carbon
Straight Line 2.0 Pewter
Ratchet 4.0 Black Chrome

Sunglasses:-
Half Wire Dark Carbon/Gold Iridium
Penny Polished/Black Iridium

Had the A-Wire and Straight Line claimed for warranty and got new replacements twice, i remember it being so easy to claim back then. Now you have to pay so much to claim and I don't even know if they still give you new replacements or just repair and that's it

will gather up my stuff and take a group photo for my Oakley glasses collection soon biggrin.gif

Hey guys!

I have my Oakley Eyepatch since 2007, however, the lenses have succumb to heavy wear and tear.

I would like to know, where can i get replacement lenses? I have tried asking some optical shops in shopping malls nearby but have been quoted up to rm300 and 2 months waiting. Is this normal?

Would appreciate any help given. Thanks

I think the shop in Fahrenheit88 is the one near the front entrance.. across from Sincere Watches.. it's an optical shop but they sell Oakley accessories like tees, bags and footwear on top of Oakley eyewear.. can see on the side display facing the escalator inside, some Oakley bags on display

I usually go to Reliance in Bangsar. Love their service.

I've not bought anything from England Optical but they do have good amount of Oakley too.

reliance bangsar is average from my point of view...nothing to shout about...
they carry alot of other brands, if you are looking for just oaks then yeah it's just average..but if you are opening to other varieties with decent price...reliance is worth dropping by....

england is more fun to "window shop" if you know what i mean hehe.. rclxms.gif

Buying from US seems tempting...I m looking for Hard-cover case for my Plaintiff and it seems that price quoted in Malaysia kinda pricey comparing to buying online.

Being such, any of u know where to get nice hard-cover case (ori/compatible...of course must b usable and cheap..hehe).....I open to all ideas...

If you physically buy from O store or any other authorised shop in the US then I personally think Revelstoke should accept it for warranty claim provided you can show the receipt...

Warranty comes from Revelstoke. From my last conversation with them few years back I was told that no proof of purchase from authorised shop means they won't accept the sunglasses even for servicing. I went there myself and spoke to the customer service lady.

On the other hand I also once spoken to a local "grey" importer here claims that the Oakley he sells there were no issue at all from Revelstoke not accepting it. How true I don't know as I have never had my oakleys required to be sent for warranty or had any issue.

What I see is, if you are concern on warranty...buy from authorised distributors...if budget is more important to you then save the 100-200 bucks for a grey import but make sure deep down inside your heart you truly believe it's really an original one...even if it's not you gotta tell yourself it is because you made that decision...And of course accept the risk if Revelstoke reject you if your Oakley required warranty claim...

What I see is, if you are concern on warranty...buy from authorised distributors...if budget is more important to you then save the 100-200 bucks for a grey import but make sure deep down inside your heart you truly believe it's really an original one...even if it's not you gotta tell yourself it is because you made that decision...And of course accept the risk if Revelstoke reject you if your Oakley required warranty claim...

unfortunately, oakley.com don't accept non US credit card nor ship out of US. Use any agent like comgateway and the total cost came to only about 80 bucks cheaper compare to buying from Focus Point. Done that myself...I find it...very stressful because of the waiting time and low savings lol...

I find this below method works better for these little savings:
if you are a Bonuslink card holder..

4800 BonusLink Points = Focus Point RM50 Cash Voucher

it's easily achieved in 1 year for me who only use it once a week for petrol...so if you have a whole family driving..supp them the card and get them to pump only Shell..this can easily help you buy an Oakley cheaper than from anywhere out of Malaysia..ORI with receipt and warranty... rclxms.gif

damn I feel like some stingy auntie trying to save on every penny but this method works for me...heh

i traded in my broken Ti wiretap in before...basically it broke at the temple after years of adjusting.
and i had no receipt, but revelstoke still accepted.
of cos it was slightly more expensive without a receipt, but it was still cheaper than buying another grey import Ti wiretap.
and i got 6 months warranty with it.

btw, the SG distro for oakley also accepts such trade-ins, and it's much cheaper than revelstoke...
even if u take bus go down and back up, u still save abit...just all the hours wasted to do it is of cos not worth it tongue.gif

dec 2011.
so yea, basically i still got 1 more month warranty left.

tho one thing i notice, my old black Ti wiretap was stiffer than my current pewter Ti wiretap.

now also looking for oakley bracket, cos that seems to be the only other one that can fit me apart from wiretap...and its asian sizing so better.

I bought an Oakley hard case, which is steel bullet shape type for 120 bucks, but for normal plastic type of case ask for 100 bucks, to me I reckon is kind of steep.

They probably know you don't have much alternatives. Consider if you buy it yourself via US drop, assuming shipping of $10, total already >RM90. Depending on drop location at US, there might be tax there that adds to the cost. Easily exceeds RM100.

RM100 is about right actually...the only way is bulk buy a few more and distribute the shipping cost...I might be interested in picking one up as well if there's a group buy tongue.gif

plus since oakley.com don't sell out of US there's additional 10% charge if you use hopshopgo's service. back to square one..no sales tax but "service charge" from agent.

revelstoke definitely not...have to use agent/proxy...shipping should not be more than 60USD (approx. 1KG and via fedex) so you need to have 6 items to level the shipping cost so it stays under RM100. Not very worth to save that few tens of ringgit unless you're getting some shades which is not available in Malaysia. And it has to have a price tag of above 500 in KL retail price (after standard discount).

if it goes over RM500, then will get hit by customs 10% tax.
below that usually no tax.

as for the watch case...6 sounds about right to keep it below RM500 with shipping included...now where to find others who are interested?
plus the watch case from what i can tell is produced in very limited quantities...so if want have to order fast.

I've done once 2yrs back...4 oakleys + 2 cases..total came to about 380USD just the value of the items...came in through fedex with no tax...I've heard people getting katana in without issue at all so I guess probably just luck sometimes whether they filter the package or not..I'd say go for it if we have enough interested parties hehe...

watch thread would have some interested I'd say tongue.gif

none legit ones within the US except if you use middle person service...those that offer service here to help you buy from amazon/ebay...

I always go to Focus Point or England Optical

I could get hold of oakley shades from oakley.com directly if anyone is keen to do a bulk...price should be what's shown in the website + 10% service fee + USD25 shipping (each pair). Currency rate at USD1 = RM3.3 (charged by credit card). still cheaper than buying retail and this would include poslaju shipping to your door (within peninsular Malaysia) when they arrive me in KL (most probably can be covered within the USD25 shipping cost). The only down side of buying it from oakley.com is that you don't get the warranty as oakley doesn't give International warranty coverage. for servicing of x-metal shades Revelstoke would still accept them. Would need 3 pairs minimum to start. Limited to only sunglasses since apparel there's duty tax coming into Malaysia.

PM me if anyone is interested so we may chat...

P.S: MOG in Paradigm is selling regular holbrook at around RM570 after discount if I'm not mistaken so if you are going for a holbrook please buy from shop as oakley.com isn't selling them much cheaper after all the charges are included. (USD120 + 10% + USD25) X 3.3 = RM518.10. Better off top up that RM50 so you can get it on the spot and enjoy the local warranty too. Always research first before you buy. Just providing this bulk service for once for the time being coz I'm planning to get another pair so it'll be good to be able to share the shipping cost.

Iridium lens? Somehow a hit and miss thing. Oakley will tell you it's due to sweat. Some people say it's the way you clean it (or whatever you used to clean it). Some had no problem even using them for years. Suggest you just replace them.

As long as it doesn't affect your daily usage you should be fine. If its affecting you directly then just get them replaced. Check with revelstoke directly or order from any optical shops who sell oakleys. Would generally cost at least rm150-200. You can also opt to buy off eBay for a cheaper alternative but you have to accept the risk of buying fakes...there are also 3rd party lens manufacturer like VL selling in eBay. Otherwise let me know which colour are you looking for perhaps I can help since I am indeed planning to pick up a pair of monster dog lens, though I haven't actually decided but I guess most likely would be fire iridium. Check in Oakley website for the replacement lens colour option. I'll be getting directly off from
Oakley.com though.

I see...oh well Oakleys r never cheap...try VL from eBay if you are on a budget...heard its a pretty good alternative although most hardcore Oakley peeps will still stand by going with Oakley lens. I'd say the same IF budget permits.

ebay is one of the best options in getting oakley shades, better still if you have friends in the US. The price there are dirt cheap if getting it on sales.

Hi guys, soon to get my first Oakley Sunglasses. Going for the Shaun White Polished Black Holbrook.

Surveyed quite a few places already and the price seems to range from RM470 to RM570.

Just want to ask you guys, is it advisable to get it from other sources besides shop? I've seen it at MOG for RM570+ and also at LCCT for RM550, and I would assume these are genuine cause it's a shop.

But browsing the forums, 2 people already offered me for RM480 cause it's bought overseas and brought in by hand.

Thoughts? Advice? If I do decide to buy from them with COD, what should I be looking out for?

Came in the mail today biggrin.gif. Very pleased with it. Poor pics cause from my HP but I'll take some proper ones. Only downpoint is that it came with the standard black pouch instead of the limited edition white pouch.

Upon inspection looks genuine so I'm happy with the buy! First Oakley glasses.

initially, i was checking the radar path lens whether does it come with oakley photochromic lens.
answer is no, at least to my understanding for this asian-fit type.

I am thinking to get a pair of Oakleys as my glasses for regular use.

How much would a decent frame cost here and where should I get the frame from?

If you read my previous post I would always doubt any Oakley seller other than from authorized dealer. Plus it's not much of savings you get (<rm100). I guess it really is whatever floats your boat...hehe

wondering, 'cuz I've never bought any Oakleys or other expensive glasses before, but are they really worth the original price? I've seen plenty fake ones around and I can't see much difference in them..? Same goes to Ray-Ban

Haven't seen anyone here with Gascan or Oil Rig or maybe I missed the post. Anyways I'm an Oakley lover I'm using the Gascan now and gonna get the Oil Rig soon. The price here in Australia is not much difference with Malaysia probably a little cheaper.

I bought a fake Gascan and a original Gascan last year to compare. The difference are the fake ones are lighter and the build quality is shit. The lenses are way more darker then the original ones not sure if its suppose to be good. It said uv protection on the lens but not sure if true or not. The colour was also out. Go for originals no regrets..

No idea.

Got mine from an authorized seller.

Not that it matters anyways, in Malaysia, there's nothing much you can trust.

Agree with chiahau especially for prescription frame, the market for it isn't huge though as compare to sunglasses for Oakley. Plus their wire frames aren't exactly up to standard if you ask me...a lot of frame paint peeling problem...

Yeap.

It's not as lasting tbh. But I bought it just for the sake it's an Oakleys and it matches my style.

Other than that, I think you can get better prescription frames from other brands if you want.

Rx frames are niche market, who want to pay 650 bucks for a pair of wire frame if you can nicer ones at nearly the same price, minus the branding? laugh.gif

Well.. if u want the quality go for original, if u just wanna be seen to be wearing an "oakley" just grab a petaling street stuff.

But I always go for ori when it comes to glasses... I'm still wearing a 20 years old rayban avaitor once awhile ... how many brands can last that long?

Yes, paint peeling is a big issue with my 'thread 2.0'. But so far none of my previous frames gives me the grip as good as Oakley RX. I wear it for badminton n I don't need to adjust if every few minutes.

I peeled the icon using pin..actually i wanted to spray the icon to another colour..but when i sprayed, the ori colour started to peel off...so i just take tissue n wipe off everything n now its in silver..best if u want to spray paint, u need to sandpaper the icon carefully...then spray paint them...u could use samurai spray paint..good quality n cheap..

I love oakley since i was a kid..my rx i got it from my optometric..it cost a lot..frame alone rm800 doh.gif
Then the frogskins i just got it from a direct seller under Kaizen Maju...since they bought their oakleys directly from US..i ordered Jupiter Factory Lite from them...Revelstoke not yet bring in the Jupiter Factory Lite..and some say they might not bring it in at all if it's limited..bought the oakley sunglasses just for my personal collection...too bad i couldnt wear them often as i couldnt see clearly without my prescriptions..only could wear them when im not driving tho..maybe i should start saving and get the prescription lens for my oakley sunglasses? hmm.gif i heard oakley prescription lens alone cost about 1000+ is it true? doh.gif

hi guys, I bought a X-Metal Juliet w/Ruby Iridium lens few months back, from a seller in LYN
I noticed that the left lens is quite loose/rattling (can actually see the lens moving back & forth when the sunglass is being shaked) compared to the right lens, which is held very firmly. and the X-Metal frame itself is somewhat imperfect, there's little bit of "dots" here and there.

Of both of these problems, the seller told me that it's normal, due to:
1. the X-Metal frame is "hand-finished/chisel", hence the imperfection
2. what worries me the most is the left "shaky/loose" lens, which the seller also said normal, happens to almost all Juliets.

need some advise from you guys, is all of these true? cos I don't think that I got a fake Juliet, due to the weight, inner lens view, and "feel" of the sunglass is very original.

My ducati juliet is a wee bit loose with the left lens but it's just if I try to move it...right is perfect...your's most likely due for a tune up..send it to revelstoke, replace all gaskets and have the screws tighten accordingly..the tune up will cost RM65..should solve the problem..can even get it verified if it's a fake as a plus point..

Check this out...the x-metal frames are handled manually but I don't think 100% hand finished...no experience with the x-metal though...

it is on FB, very very cheap but guaranteed authentic by the seller.

1 year warranty from him and only him, so I guess he imports himself

I'd stay away the moment a seller tells me I can only go back to them for warranty...it's cheaper but not "very very" cheap in general...

@Calvin, is that a square whisker?

it's a common problem it seems...most of the time due to sweat overtime...what I hear is to clean it always..I make sure mine is cleaned with mild soap wash every 2-3 outdoor trips especially if you sweat alot...if you only wear when you drive and in the car most of the time then maybe clean once a month...all my pairs are fine so far..remember to also wash your microfiber bag...

funny thing is they always happen after a period of time..most likely after warranty period but if your's still with warranty please do send it back ASAP...

i have a thin and long face, most glasses doesn't look good on me.

especially the ray bans. they looks too big for my face.

but the fuel cell seems to be ok so far.
any other suggestion? probably getting another pair next month.

hunting for ducati monster dog.. end up with ducati fuel cell instead..

i have a thin and long face, most glasses doesn't look good on me.

especially the ray bans. they looks too big for my face.
but the fuel cell seems to be ok so far.
any other suggestion? probably getting another pair next month.
*
If fuelcell fits good on you maybe you can consider the Batwolf...despatch/antix/hijinx too could be a good choice for long face...

I really wonder what happened so history will not repeat itself..

No, I just use it. Never washed it.

I own
Oakley Juliet, Dartboard, Straight Jacket, Splice. With the exception of the Straight Jacket, all of them suffered the same fate. And the fact I'm not the only one proves its not an isolated case. smile.gif

My Juliet is the earlier model, with serial number.

I've tried tightening the left lens with a T6 driver, and it's pretty tight! but I've read from other forums, and O-review, some ppl are having "loose" trouble with the left lens too, seems like a common defect, and nothing can be done about it sad.gif

the Juliet "tune up" does it fix the center hinge as well? cause those are rivets, not screws.

the center/bridge would be inspected and adjusted...there's 2 gasket in it and they'll be changed as well if necessary. same goes to both the washer/rubber on the bottom screws below each lens...RM65 is including all this...

I believe they would do it for free lah if you are getting the gasket service done..just open, swap and tightening them back again heh...

Hmmm Went to revel stoke yesterday..

Fixed the Gasket on my juliets for RM65.. change the rubber at the ear piece for another RM32.50

About my Square whiskers.. She said its a common problem if people do not wash their lenses with water after usage.

So to everyone out there please WASH your oakleys after usage..

The lens from my Juliets are starting to have the same problem but very minimal, only found out after I took them out from the soft casing! Its polarized and cost me about RM6xx just for the lens T__T

yep, I bought Juliet (my first ever Oaks), and a Radar with Oakshop, price is much lower than market, but comes without the soft case and box, and I think the seller has kept the Juliet for quite some time, for years I think, condition is not tip-top for the Juliet, Radar is good..hence the much cheaper price I think..
as for the warranty, has to go back to him though, can't send straight to Revelstoke or any other authorized Oakley dealer. Can try checking out Reliance Optical in Bangsar, bought my Radarlock there.

Beware of fake crosslinks or any Oakley glasses.
Do a scratch test on the inner arm SKU. If it comes off = fake

That is not true.
Not all Oakleys are made in US. Over these few recent years; especially metal made type frames are now made in china, which are all authentic Oakley.
They have pushed much production to China.

You will see CHiNA stamped in most Plaintiff, frogskin LX too!
And most recents 2013 release they dont even stamp "Made in USA" anymore. Just "USA"

The very simple #1 rule to find out if yr Oakley sunglass/spec is Original & NOT fake is to:-

1. Scratch the SKU/white lettering on the inner stem.
- if lettering comes off = 100% fake oakley.
2. All ori oakley comes with microBAG with a drawstring, not just a black piece of cloth

so i recently purchased a Plaintiff Squared.lead w blk iridium lens to be exact.what worries me is that it feels like plastic.it supposed to be a c5 alloy right?of course it's lightweight but it is just have that plastic-ish feeling, not like the plaintiff chrome(is it because of the chrome?).dunno if it just my hands lol.no country stamp.i dont think plaintiff squared has that, not sure.

for comparison purpose,i just bought a knock off plaintiff squared, but this one is polarized(or claim to be) tongue.gif like vansen said, sku on the fake came off after scratch.on the ori, not. no country stamp on both models.craftmanship on the fake, the stem measurement looks a bit off(plaintiff squared stem is two metal inserted to one another, isnt it?).fake one comes with cleaning cloth, ori does not.bag: ori, black bag with label at bottom side.fake has the brown bag with the label on th upper side.O on the fake bag look square-ish,the ori is like a disc, like the logo on box.

can someone clarify this? sad.gif

here are the pics of the plaintiff squared (authentic)-bought from minioptics

anyone looking for a brand new Ducati Juliet there's 1 pair for sale in the optical shop in Tesco Manjalara, Kepong..hard to come by of these New Old Stock...price tag - whopping 2.2k!!! I reckon you'd get the standard max discount at 10% that's it...

Yoo guys how do the white matte o matters "plastic" fare?? Thinking of getting a frogskin.

Will they turn yellowish overtime??

So far the only plastic frame i have is the radarlock which is still pretty solid after 2 years of used

And the rest are metal like juliets, square wire

Frame is fine...the only thing that will turn a little yellowish is the rubber...

Hi guys,
Just want to share my passion with oakley sunglasses. Right now I've a few pairs of oakley.
1. Holbrook vr46
2. Plaintiff red/black polarized
3. Scalpel motogp

I've sold my hijinx bruce irons last year and I lost my very first oakley fives squared polarized 4 years ago.

And now I'm looking to buy twoface matte black/violet irridium. Anybody can recommend shop for me to buy?

Thanks.

Bought mine years ago at KL Plaza, that time. But most optical shops that carry the Oakley brand will have this series. Bought mine around RM1200++, if not mistaken there is a 20% discount also

Awesome model, until today still works well thumbup.gif
