I finally got myself my first two pairs of Oakley (and also my first two pair of sunglasses)!

A Polarized Titanium Square Whisker and a Radar Path. Got them both from Oakley Vault for a great price.

After checking em out, I feel that I prefer the C-5 alloy version of the Square Whisker (which I tried out at local shops). The titanium version is just too light that it feels like plastic and flimsy. The C-5 alloy version gave me a much more concrete feel. I had the same verdict when trying the Nanowire 4.0.

This may sound odd to you, preferring C-5 alloy over titanium, so I was wondering if anyone has similar thoughts? Or maybe it's just me being a newbie to sunglasses blush.gif

Oh well, I'll just grow to love it I suppose. Titanium should be much stronger anyways, I think laugh.gif

Also, my Square Whisker is pretty imbalanced. Any ideas if the local dealers would entertain me if I ask them to help me adjust, given the fact that I didn't buy it from them?

PS: The carbon fibre vault is awesome!

I thought Oakley Vault do not ship to international location i.e. Malaysia?

That is correct, and they're pretty wary about it as well. I had the help of an intermediary.

I used Shipito. You might want to look into comGateway as well. Shipito's default address is blacklisted, so I actually had my Oakleys sent to a staff's own address (at least that's what I think happened). Not sure if comGateway's address is blacklisted or not.

ComGateway has a tie up with American Express & includes a service which enables them to pay on your behalf ( for vendors that require a US credit card )

Both provide such service. Not sure what benefit of having an Amex would be for comGateway, but they do have more payment options than Shipito. The problem is with their delivery address, whether or not comGateway would go that extra mile if their address happens to be blacklisted. I know Shipito does, but have no experience with comGateway so I can't say for sure.

In general, comGateway should be cheaper for purchasing from Malaysia (unless bigger, BIGGER packages, Shipito would be cheaper). Shipito is cheaper to where I'm at though biggrin.gif

revelstoke really mark up like mad even for small items.
wanted to order this - http://origin-www.oakley.com/products/1332/3042

USD20 and they want to charge me RM100...claim got tax la...shipping la...pfft.

They probably know you don't have much alternatives. Consider if you buy it yourself via US drop, assuming shipping of $10, total already >RM90. Depending on drop location at US, there might be tax there that adds to the cost. Easily exceeds RM100.
