If you physically buy from O store or any other authorised shop in the US then I personally think Revelstoke should accept it for warranty claim provided you can show the receipt...

Warranty comes from Revelstoke. From my last conversation with them few years back I was told that no proof of purchase from authorised shop means they won't accept the sunglasses even for servicing. I went there myself and spoke to the customer service lady.

On the other hand I also once spoken to a local "grey" importer here claims that the Oakley he sells there were no issue at all from Revelstoke not accepting it. How true I don't know as I have never had my oakleys required to be sent for warranty or had any issue.

What I see is, if you are concern on warranty...buy from authorised distributors...if budget is more important to you then save the 100-200 bucks for a grey import but make sure deep down inside your heart you truly believe it's really an original one...even if it's not you gotta tell yourself it is because you made that decision...And of course accept the risk if Revelstoke reject you if your Oakley required warranty claim...

good input..looks like the lady I spoke to may have practiced double standard? maybe I wasn't leng chai enough lol...

normal la tu.. even u buy it from use, u gonna be imposed 8.75% tax... tolak campur shipping.. more less the same

RM100 is about right actually...the only way is bulk buy a few more and distribute the shipping cost...I might be interested in picking one up as well if there's a group buy

plus since oakley.com don't sell out of US there's additional 10% charge if you use hopshopgo's service. back to square one..no sales tax but "service charge" from agent.

revelstoke definitely not...have to use agent/proxy...shipping should not be more than 60USD (approx. 1KG and via fedex) so you need to have 6 items to level the shipping cost so it stays under RM100. Not very worth to save that few tens of ringgit unless you're getting some shades which is not available in Malaysia. And it has to have a price tag of above 500 in KL retail price (after standard discount).

I thought sunglasses is not taxable? I've done once 2yrs back...4 oakleys + 2 cases..total came to about 380USD just the value of the items...came in through fedex with no tax...I've heard people getting katana in without issue at all so I guess probably just luck sometimes whether they filter the package or not..I'd say go for it if we have enough interested parties hehe...

Erm, I was a lifeguard back before then so I think it might be the chlorine that eats up the coating and yes I did stand under the sun a lot back then. Now I am just using it for driving, I try to contact the distributor of Oakley in Malaysia but seems like they do not operate anymore and the contact number and emails aren't working too. So, I don't know who and where should I refer this problem to. Sighhhhh
   

there's a lot of seller in the net in Malaysia, even in this forum.. how do you guys know if the Oakleys they are selling are the real deal and not some AAA knock off?

rather disappointed with Oakley Malaysia. the range they have is so limited. the authorised dealer said the particular model i am looking for is discontinued but when i checked the oakley USA website it is still sold. tried contacting Luxottica but they havent reply to me.. wonder if any body know of trustworthy grey importer?
