If you physically buy from O store or any other authorised shop in the US then I personally think Revelstoke should accept it for warranty claim provided you can show the receipt...

Warranty comes from Revelstoke. From my last conversation with them few years back I was told that no proof of purchase from authorised shop means they won't accept the sunglasses even for servicing. I went there myself and spoke to the customer service lady.

On the other hand I also once spoken to a local "grey" importer here claims that the Oakley he sells there were no issue at all from Revelstoke not accepting it. How true I don't know as I have never had my oakleys required to be sent for warranty or had any issue.

What I see is, if you are concern on warranty...buy from authorised distributors...if budget is more important to you then save the 100-200 bucks for a grey import but make sure deep down inside your heart you truly believe it's really an original one...even if it's not you gotta tell yourself it is because you made that decision...And of course accept the risk if Revelstoke reject you if your Oakley required warranty claim...

Get ori mah man...hehe...more syok mah...if not any optical shop or i believe even pasar malam stalls do have hard case...

i traded in my broken Ti wiretap in before...basically it broke at the temple after years of adjusting.
and i had no receipt, but revelstoke still accepted.
of cos it was slightly more expensive without a receipt, but it was still cheaper than buying another grey import Ti wiretap.
and i got 6 months warranty with it.

btw, the SG distro for oakley also accepts such trade-ins, and it's much cheaper than revelstoke...
even if u take bus go down and back up, u still save abit...just all the hours wasted to do it is of cos not worth it tongue.gif

good input..looks like the lady I spoke to may have practiced double standard? maybe I wasn't leng chai enough lol... tongue.gif

mind I ask when was this that you got it replaced?
*
dec 2011.
so yea, basically i still got 1 more month warranty left.

tho one thing i notice, my old black Ti wiretap was stiffer than my current pewter Ti wiretap.

now also looking for oakley bracket, cos that seems to be the only other one that can fit me apart from wiretap...and its asian sizing so better.

RM100 is about right actually...the only way is bulk buy a few more and distribute the shipping cost...I might be interested in picking one up as well if there's a group buy tongue.gif

plus since oakley.com don't sell out of US there's additional 10% charge if you use hopshopgo's service. back to square one..no sales tax but "service charge" from agent.
*
ah ok, tho do revelstoke entertain bulks? or would someone here have to use a proxy to order from US?

revelstoke definitely not...have to use agent/proxy...shipping should not be more than 60USD (approx. 1KG and via fedex) so you need to have 6 items to level the shipping cost so it stays under RM100. Not very worth to save that few tens of ringgit unless you're getting some shades which is not available in Malaysia. And it has to have a price tag of above 500 in KL retail price (after standard discount).
*
if it goes over RM500, then will get hit by customs 10% tax.
below that usually no tax.

as for the watch case...6 sounds about right to keep it below RM500 with shipping included...now where to find others who are interested?
plus the watch case from what i can tell is produced in very limited quantities...so if want have to order fast.

I thought sunglasses is not taxable? I've done once 2yrs back...4 oakleys + 2 cases..total came to about 380USD just the value of the items...came in through fedex with no tax...I've heard people getting katana in without issue at all so I guess probably just luck sometimes whether they filter the package or not..I'd say go for it if we have enough interested parties hehe...

watch thread would have some interested I'd say tongue.gif
*
hard to say how customs think.
CDs are not taxable too right? so too jerseys if not mistaken.
but u bring in more than RM500 and customs will hit you with a 10% sales tax.

Erm, I was a lifeguard back before then so I think it might be the chlorine that eats up the coating and yes I did stand under the sun a lot back then. Now I am just using it for driving, I try to contact the distributor of Oakley in Malaysia but seems like they do not operate anymore and the contact number and emails aren't working too. So, I don't know who and where should I refer this problem to. Sighhhhh

oakley bought over by luxottica awhile ago.
so the old distro of revelstoke no more.
basically PITA to contact the new owners...so best go back to any authorized oakley dealer.

there's a lot of seller in the net in Malaysia, even in this forum.. how do you guys know if the Oakleys they are selling are the real deal and not some AAA knock off?
*
hmm i would say dont bother buying online unless they are authorized dealers / stock from the distributor luxottica.

rather disappointed with Oakley Malaysia. the range they have is so limited. the authorised dealer said the particular model i am looking for is discontinued but when i checked the oakley USA website it is still sold. tried contacting Luxottica but they havent reply to me.. wonder if any body know of trustworthy grey importer?
*
ya luxottica is kinda sucky at getting a quick reply.
got 1 dealer here in garage sales...some usj shop...go search urself.

also no all oakley models shown in US site is available here...thats why they got regional websites.

hi guys.. i am shortsighted... I am considering Oakley Radarlock with prescription lense for me shortsighted... any review on Radarlock for runners ( I am a marathon runner) ? Where can I get oakley with prescription lense ?
*
for prescription on that model, i dont think can be done locally due to the curvature and coating etc...usually direct from oakley.
i could be wrong but thats what i recall from before.
better u check with the local oakley store here.
