bro..just asking..y not thinking abt x10 50'?????? drool.gif

Would choose either 42S10 or 50S10...tho local S10 has lower grade panel compared to US model
Difference of G10 - 660hz, 40k Contrast, 10 bit panel maybe...+ Viera Cast and 24p Cinema playback
Since now other BD player has viera cast as well, there would double Viera Cast function if getting combo BD player + G10
So S10 is better bang for buck for myself

Anyone has S10 properly calibrated?
I am still looking for the setting in AVS forum.
Don't seem to have S10 calibration setting at the moment.
Appreciate sifu's input on this.
Thanks in advance.

I didn't actually sit in when he was doing the calibration work.

When he delivers my TV on the 13th, will look see what he does and share with you if you are interested. tongue.gif

Do we need to wait for plasma to break in first before we can calibrate it?

Think the same. got to wait...just watch TV as usual will do.
Dun really care on AVS break in procedures as suggested by D-Nice.

1st 10 hours, plasma colour was horrible out of box.
Colour is improving now but saw one dead pixel on Tuesday night.
Pink colour pixel in middle of nowhere on the screen, Panasonic tech ppl came yesterday to check out.
They would revert to me next week on warranty. cry.gif

Oh, I'm against you when it comes to after sales service for Panasonic. My previous panasonic plasma suffered from IR after less than half a year of usage and even though it's stated in the user manual that IT is not covered by the warranty, the pana service rep tried his very best to make it a big issue and got me a 1-to-1 replacement. How's that for good service.

my customer got a new replacement model from PV80 to X10 after found out the panel problem 1 year later from the purchase date.

he used to be a Sony customer. the service rating he gave for sony was pathetic, and so he switched to become a panasonic customer.

his warranty claim makes him even loyal to the panasonic product.  smile.gif

Hopefully I can have my panel replaced as well as it's still less than one week.
The dead pink pixel looks weird on 1080p output.
I'm bit picky. So as I go for full hd panel.
Except for one Tefal stove, all electrical appliances of my house are fr Panasonic.
Hope they wont let me down this time too. rolleyes.gif

From what u r saying it is a stuck pixel not dead. If u have a screen fix program, u shd be able to "unstick" it or at least try.

Funny thing is its pink...not any of the primary (RGB) or secondary (YCM) colours. Really odd. Each pixel is made up of 3 sub pixels that are Red,Green and Blue. I believe the Red Pixel is stuck. Have u tried a full screen colour screen like the break in DVD? If u have, let me know what u see.
*
Panasonic tech ppl came yesterday and tried the 'full screen break in' thingy from service menu.
Seeing the screen changing colour one by one...they concluded that's a dead/ stuck pixel in pink colour
They put down the issue into their job sheet and said that they need to refer to their boss for the outcome on warranty claim.
Notified HTkaki on this as well. Got to wait now. Can't do anything from now on. bye.gif

Apparently this thing now is made in SG.
Saw some G10 series that were reviewed online were fr China.
Bear with it. Panasonic is cutting down warranty period as well.
Think not gonna stay long with this tv. Later kena poison on other new model. smile.gif

One thing funny on this Malaysian market 42s10k.
It's G12 panel but not neo PDP. So is it upgraded G11 panel with new features?
How do they claim it as a G12 panel tv but not come with 'new' panel? doh.gif
Regardless of all the above, (neo or not neo PDP) personally I reckon this is still a value buy.

Currently using hdmi - hdmi native 1080p 1:1 pixel pc input.
Native hdmi from ATI 4000 series with 7.1.
So far so good and colour was slowly improving as tv hasn't fully 'break in' yet.
But bad as the tv is now with Panasonic for warranty claim.
Hopefully I can get it back tomorrow.

Today panasonic guys sent my tv back.
They have replaced the panel.
Guess what the pink pixel gone.
But now there is another black dot right in the middle of the screen this time.
I noticed it before they left.
At the end, Pananic brought my tv back again for warranty... Argghhh wat a day...
