too small dude.. serious

in my bed room, using 2feet tiles to count, I sit 4 tiles away (8ft or 96inches) from the wall.. already consider 60in diag too small.. need around 80-90inches size then only ok.. biggrin.gif

but of coz if you using X10 instead of S10 then sit further back is more recommended..

there's one salesman from another store (selling lcd tv) said that the plasma technology is outdated already..... and are being phased out....and have to clear stock...that's why all the plasma are cheap nowdays... he also said that the future of tv will be based on LCD.
it's good for him to think so.. so he dun markup so much and then we get cheaper plasmas.. rclxms.gif

How come JB selling S10 for RM3999 and Sarawak selling for RM2980?...this is BS from Panasonic..wanna sell standard pricelah..like Sony does.
Pity Johoreans sad.gif
*
no std pricing cos it's a package with the BD60.. so when split up.. so the TV price depends on how much they can sell off the BD60 separately..

since no Pros here answer, i will try la, dun merajuk ...  tongue.gif

First of all, I dun even know the TV itself can upscale, so if it really can, then no visible difference.

Of course choose DVD with more features like 'upscaling' which prolly comes with HDMI output for best results.  Then again, 'upscaling' is often overhyped, dun expect fantastic reproductions.

Finally, you buy a FullHD TV, I suggest u do it justice and get a BD player. Like that, all problem solved  nod.gif

yup all HD rez TV got builtin upscaler.. if not (no scaling) then you will only get small image on the centre of the screen and 4 side black bars..

Anyway, back to the topic. I do not understand why Pana came out with 42S10 LCD TV. They should have use a diff model name in order not to confuse the masses
I guess it's difficult for you, especially when your customer call you to order, they can't pronounce properly S or X.. laugh.gif ter-order wrong model.. tongue.gif

The elites here will probably poison you as follows:

1. PS3 or BD player? Get a Dune
2. HTib or dedicated receiver + 5.1 speakers? Go for 7.1
3. WDTV or Xtreamer or Playon!HD Get a Dune

Depends on how you zoom it, the correct way to zoom is to enlarge the video by sacrificing details on the left and right. If you zoom by just stretching the video of course it will looks weird.
*
that would be stretching.. biggrin.gif
zoom is proportional (up/down + left/right)..

the compromise would be the so called.. "smart" stretch function, zoom the centre portion and slightly stretch the left and right sides...

I just got my 42S10K fixed. Panasonic is unbelievable. They are prompt, fast and courteous. Even the 2 Panasonic guy, one is called Kanesan, who return me the set are so polite and even shook my hand and say thank you before leaving. Great service. I never know there are such a service in Malaysia.

Respect to Panasonic thumbup.gif

Plasma do consume more power.... how much i don't know.
*
probably 100-150Ws more.. depend on which model and size anyway..

we are talking about RM0.10 difference in energy (if play 3-5hrs a day) so RM3.00 per month difference...

if that is a significant amount of money to a person, then better spend more time earning money than watching TV.. biggrin.gif

The 50S looks better to my eyes than the 50X... which should be obvious..

But the 42S doesn't seem to be better than the 42X..

Maybe it's just calibration... but then, it should look better out of the box, shouldn't it?
*
if TV is smaller then you have to sit closer to see the difference,... if sit far away, then SD or HD also look the same cos our eyes can't resolve the smaller pixels after a certain distances..

just went to Senq to view P42S10, but from what i see and what i surprise, LCD 42S10 is better than P42S10, LCD is more bright (maybe its setting problem) and LCD is cheaper, so why everyone don consider L42S10 ?

choosing between these 2, haih.... sad.gif
*
cos Vibrant LCd images are not accurate video reproduction.....

Hi guys, anyone here got the 42X10k instead of 42S10k?
Can i know why a 42 inch HD plasma has a resolution of 1024 X 768 only but still consider as a HD?
The resolution is different was kinda huge compare to a LCD HD resolution of 1366 X 768.
Sorry for asking such a newbie stupid question. But really need to know it b4 getting a X10 for my new home.
Thx to all sifu in advance!!!
*
it's actually a HD ready TV (i.e. able to accept HD signals into TV) or so it's actually more of EDTV (enhanced def tv).. no way qualified as HDTV (to display minimum 720p resolution)..
