QUOTE(Lacus @ Jan 10 2013, 06:11 PM) Well sending for repair at SC will certainly cost a bomb than doing it at normal workshops. Is the car still in warranty? Since you always service at Glenmarie you could ask their opinion regarding the repairs IMO. I know sending to SC will burn a big hole in my pocket but no choice since still under warranty (only Yr2 of 5 years). Plus it's my wife's car so ladies are particular about workmanship, quality, etc... It'll be due for service very soon so I guess then I'll ask the SC for advice. *sigh*.. hemorrhaging badly this month with CNY coming up

if not mistaken, those are not covered in warranty not meh? servicing done outside instead of sc=voids warranty as far as i know, i don't think fixing bumpers and etc will void warranty. let me check and get back to you/

QUOTE(don^don @ Jan 28 2013, 03:06 PM) how much differ? and specs differ besides engine and ABS+EBD? 1.1 Epsilon engine is a non CVVT engine utilizing timing belt. Other than the absence of ABS/EBD, the 1.1 i10 do not have front fog lamp, and features a lower spoiler and a different rim design.

Hi, I just took delivery of Inokom Hyundai i10 1.25 Kappa CVVT on 14 March 2013! Just wondering is there any other owner of this SOLID Award Winning car besides me?
Can I ask you the following questions? 1) What is your Model (eg. 1.1 OR 1.25 CVVT/year made/reg (eg mine's 2012 year made)? 2) How is your fuel consumption of your car? 3) Are you happy/satisfied with your car so far? 4) Any quality, reliability issues with your i10? LASTLY: 5) Will you recommend this car to anyone (eg. families, friends, colleagues)?
LOOKING FORWARD TO HEAR FROM YOU!
PS. let me get the ball rolling: 1) i10 1.25 CVVT 2012/2013, White 2) 2nd fill up average RM50 good for 300km - RM0.17/km (but then this car's in Kah Bintang Yard for 12 months! According to the plastic wrapping sticker on the front seat: Manufactured March 2012! So the engine oil & lubes might dry up or hardened! 3) Happy with the car other than the HIGHISH FC! The car's VERY SOLID, Good soundproofing, Good ride and handling and lastly, Stable at speed up to 140km/h unlike my Sister's MYVI 1.5SE (A) - Bumpy if seat behind at speed above 100km/h! Oh! Ya! Autoworld's YS Khong tested this i10, TOP SPEED 170km/h and 0-100km/h in 12.2 secs! IMPRESSIVE for a 1248cc A-segment car!
4) Touch wood, NONE so far! 5) DEFINITELY and a RESOUNDING YES!!! 3x better than MYVI and Viva! Even NST CBT 3 car comparo between i10 1.1 (OLD ENGINE), Myvi 1.3 and Saga FLX = verdict/winner: Hyundai i10 1.1 (Old Timing belt engine - note the 1.25 CVVT's Timing Chain driven)!!!
They liked it so much that they voted this car 2009, 2010,2011 City Car of the Year (3 years in a row!), Also Car of the Year India 2008,
Why Hyundai i10? Winner of over 40 awards worldwide including (in Malaysia): Car of the year NST/Maybank 2009,2010 and 2011 Best City Car. Autocar ASEAN Awards 2010 best city car Asian Auto Compact City Car of the year 2010 Asian Auto 1st in fuel economy awards 5.1l/100km Asian Auto VCA 2009, Best People's car. EURO NCAP 4 stars (Safest city car around) Excellent front and rear headroom and legroom (see picture 6 and 7 above)
Despite only 1248cc CVVT, it generates 87 hp @ 6,000rpm with torque of 120Nm @ 4,000rpm. Matching Wira 1.5 in power and torque!

1) What is your Model (eg. 1.1 OR 1.25 CVVT/year made/reg (eg mine's 2012 year made)? Model 1.25 CVVT year 2012
2) How is your fuel consumption of your car? RM55-58 can only get 300km max, sometime can get only 250km. Even driving during the recent CNY where there is no jam at all, I can only get 320km. This is way far from what they claim can be achieved, so I really pissed it this.
3) Are you happy/satisfied with your car so far? NVH is really good, always wonder why Potong can do the same ? Even the power window seem ways beyond Potong's quality. But cannot drive more than 110km/h b'cos can hear the windy sound from the window. Just renew my insurance and guess wat ? The market value after first year can drop more than RM10k ?????
4) Any quality, reliability issues with your i10? Water went into headlight after just 4-5months, tot is is just temporary but end up more water so I claimed for warranty from Kah Bintang Jalan Ipoh, took them 1 month to call me back for replacement. And guess what, once replaced last Saturday morning, there is water in the headlight again in the evening. I didn't see them replacing a new one, so suspect probably just take out and wipe the water inside ??? Still not sure my next action but with this kinda of services I will never go to Kah Bintang Jalan Ipoh again!
LASTLY: 5) Will you recommend this car to anyone (eg. families, friends, colleagues)? Er, depend. If NVH is priority, then can consider this car.

Hey guys, posted these questions in the car club thread but I think it's pretty dead over there.
So the last few comments are saying that this car's FC is pretty high? Any truth on that? Secondly do you guys think it's worth buying over Myvi?
I do like the leather seats offered in the Colourz Edition though. The colours are good looking as well.

I do like the leather seats offered in the Colourz Edition though. The colours are good looking as well. FC is only marginally better than Myvi, if not similar. Whether this is high or not, it's for you to judge. Yes, it's worth buying over Myvi if you can appreciate its superior ride/handling & solidity. However due to its poor resale value, getting a 1-2 year old used unit should be the best deal.

Well it's certainly higher than expected for the size, but maybe still acceptable, depends. If I get one will probably buy a new one and make it a second car 5-7 years down the road. Really liking the limited edition ones. Any problems and i10s commonly face? You're an owner of i10?

No. My youngest sister does. She wanted a small car but didn't want a Myvi. So I recommended i10. That was before they came with Kappa engine. But no major problems thus far.

Anyone has a branch to recommend that gives more discounts or free gifts?

hi there,
anyone here managed to change tyre other than GY NCT 5?
165/60/R14 is really rare.
185/60/R14 too wide and height is different... 60% of 185
