Yes, that still applies.

When you done convert to postpaid you can't change to prepaid, but Mobile Number Portability (NMP) will do...

hey guys. how fast is EDGE? im planning to buy a smart phone and probably couple it with EDGE because its the cheapest.

Maximum 220kbps.
But usually around 180-190kbps, that is the fastest I could get.

is it stabe? does it take too long to load, say, BBC, endgadget, facebook mobile?

I believe it is stable. Just don't change place, or you will dc or maybe not dc but slow. About long load, it is about same fixed line when you're speed around 180-190kbps... should be no problem...
