my phone bill (celcom) - for data plan - charge me RM85++ for the usage. i did not subscribe to anything.

worst part is, did call the celcom CS. ask them to block it or disable. they said cant. the funniest reason they told that im using maxis line (mine is 012 but port over to celcom for the past 1 year). they keep on said cannot disable (i didnt tell them im using iphone). haiii...

look like i need to subscribe to data plan unlimited RM68 from celcom. haiii...

same case like me..they cannot disable the 3g data...how come they(service provider) cannot block/terminate/cut the 3G date?
n also they cannot check the usage as i m also encounter the leak date..
already turn off everything but my billing is increasing..when ask about when n how much im using the 3g data.. the rep said wait for the bill.

I have similar problems and at last I realize that iPhone is like a "high class pet"...if u wanna use it to the fullest you gotta spent on the "food" (chain costs)...what's the point that if turning data off is worked but you lost those push capability and the luxurious of internet on your finger tips? I myself after wasting some hard earned money on those ridiculously expensive pay per used data....manage to find 2 solutions:
1. If you're on hotlink : there is a bi-week data package 100MB on RM18 which will cost you RM36 monthly. (Offers end on June....hope they'll extend it or come out wit better one then)
2. If you're on DIGI : go for the smart plan which will cost you RM58 monthly on unlimited data.
My 2 cents... hmm.gif

Im on postpaid. I think i should call them first. Anyone else with similar prob? any solutions?

I think muman7 has the correct approach.
iPhone is like an high-end pet, and you need to feed it. otherwise, why bother?

I faced an issue with DiGi's GPRS Pay per usage and is now having bill shock for two months. Been using my iPhone for almost 10months and this is the first time such issue happened.

Here's the status of my iPhone:
iPhone 3G 16gb 3.1.3
Jailbroken without Carrier Update
SBSettings turned off Edge already,
3G turned off,
Cellular Data Network's settings are all blank.

OMG the bill was like three times of my normal usage..but the question is how can iPhone uses GPRS while all those settings are taken to prevent usage?

Anyone help? I had called DiGi and tried to make a report as well as escalating the issue to billing department (i think is their usual routine)..

hi guys, i just called maxis to disable my gprs/3g.
They asked what phone im using so i told them im using iphone. Then they told me :'sir, even if we disable ur gprs/3g, you are still able to connect to the internet."
i was like, wtf....after i disable but im still able to connect to internet?? @@"
they keep repeat and tell me that iphone is a smart phone.
lastly, they decided to put me into the maxis black list for internet thingy...

@johnny12262711: How can you connect when you are disabled to use that services? But have you tried to disable the settings in your iPhone? Or it is not effective?

It seems that my case was similar to yours..but when there's no settings what could possibly be the reason that caused iPhone to connects? Or is it that telco trace your usage by how many data request you made regardless of whether you have the settings right or wrong?

I got a message from Hotlink telling me that I've received a free Biweekly (250MB) Mobile Internet Pass. What does this mean? Does it last forever?

As for Celcom, RM68/month on 3G Unlimited Data service..
The caps is 5G, but if you exceed 5G they will slow down your speed but with no extra charge...
So far so good for me.. I'm quite a heavy user on data service.. never exceed even 1G!
On the net with my iPhone is a great thing! The speed and I never have to worry about if I ever burst my limit huhu...

Ooo before this I was on BIS-BlackBerry for my data service.. at RM98 and after I converted to iPhone, I've asked the CS to cancel my BIS and now am happy with the current service...

Yeah, after almost 4 months of 'wondering' hmm.gif , me change from Maxis to Celcom while I am using BlackBerry then... thumbup.gif
And yes.. I have never been happier to see my monthly telephone bill.. thumbup.gif
From the day one I am with Celcom... be it with then BlackBerry Internet Service or now with iPhone Broadband service...
The best part of all is, I never need to worry if I ever exceed my telephone bill limit - be it the exec 50 nor the Broadband service... never ever..
Maybe there's some hickup here and there - not everyone's perfect tho, but I just love celcom... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
