QUOTE(giorgene @ Feb 7 2010, 03:06 PM) they offered me exactly the same salary as my current job, im just joining my current company for 1 year, which means I don't have any increment if I accept this offer, seems like im losing 1 year experience and i heard that their increment is low, but good bonus to compensate.. let say next year i want to change job, if i stay with current company, i can accumulate 2 years experience with same company, I can ask for higher salary. if I accept the offer now, next year i probably couldn't get that amount of salary.. the most important thing to bother me is, my CV not very good, first job 10 months, second job 9 months, now third job 1 year.. Are you a PR? If that's the case, I reckon they will assumed you will left after 6 mths or earlier if you obtained PR status.

I really cant imagine how bad the traffic is on Fri evening.
I guess it will take 4 hrs to pass through both customs before u even begin to start ur journey on the highway.

For those who which to cross the causeway, be prepared to jam 2 hrs in SG custom and 2 hrs in JB custom before you can even start your journey home.

Wow, just came back from Singapore Casino which I have just won SGD75 playing baccarat.
The casino only houses only a single general floor but the space occupied is very large, larger than Malaysia Casino. To enter the 2nd floor, you need to be a VIP showing proof that you have $100K (if I am not mistaken). Overall, Singapore Casino looks damn grand (like a Oscars Hall)... but I still loves the Msia Casino as it have more "Casino Feel". The Spore Casino is too boring despite being grand.
Many gaming tables are not open.
For free drinks, it only has chinese tea, plain water and teh tarik. So, Msia casino is better as it provides not only the above, but free orange juice, bandung, milo and cappoccino as well. But definately loses to Macau Casino lah in term of free drinks and free food.
Many croupiers are still inexperience, their action are rather too slow in distributing the cards or in paying the winning bets. I heard wispers that a women beside me got rewarded additional chips she won.. Walao Eh!!!
For Sporeans and PR, I believe you all are aware that a $100 levy will be imposed (you may however, enter and exit the casino numerous times within the 24 hrs timeframe.)
For Work Permit holders, you only required to show your Work Passes as it has a photo embeded into the pass.
For EP holders, you may however need to show both your EP Pass and your Malaysian IC as EP Pass do not have a photo embeded into the card.
Hope the above info did do great help for those who intend to visit the Casino.
Today, the Star Malaysia published that a Chinese National won $1.5m just by playing Baccarat alone.
I also heard rumours that the authorities may impose the levy on WP/EP holders very soon to deter all Banglas workers and Indon maids from flooding into the casino during weekends to enjoy live pretty girls show and free drinks but do not intend to gamble.
So, please go to the casino As Soon As U Can while it is still free....!!!!

QUOTE(wlcling @ Feb 23 2010, 11:52 PM) no chance to enter casino yet... $100 alot of money to me... i think use it to go buy toto more worth it Tell u, use $100 to pay levy... then use $100 to bet banker in baccarat (50-50 chance winning), if win then stop (at least u win back ur levy), if lose, bet $200 again in banker, if lose bet $300 so on and so forth... u bet 10 times, sure got 1 time is banker. QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Feb 24 2010, 12:10 AM) lol.. my friends told me d stories about d ppl visiting d casino... i laugh my ass off... i think the gov is gonna remove the 100.. at least allow 1 entry free per year lar my ep got picta leh any1 working in the casino? EP does not have any photo. U earning above $2.5K? EP is just an very very ordinary card laminated with a plastic cover only. Unlike work permit (if ur paid is below $2.5K), it is a proper card like Msia IC whereby there is a photo embeded into the card.

QUOTE(seantang @ Feb 24 2010, 12:52 AM) Doesn't the casino take a commission on the winning hands when you bet on the banker? There are 2 types of baccarat. 1 is "No Commission".. the other is u need to pay $2.5 or $5 as commission (for the casino to buy new deck of cards as some jokers might have destroy the cards during play)

QUOTE(wlcling @ Feb 25 2010, 12:11 AM) usually there is a max bet limit to counter this system. also if you do your math correctly, each time you lose, you are supposed to double the previous bet (i.e, $100 then $200 then $400 then $800 and so on) I understand, the only weakness is you need alot of capital. On the other hand, how often u see all 10 games in a row all banker wins or player wins or how often u see in a roulette game whereby 10 games in a row all open odd numbers or even numbers?

Work in SG and stay in JB is a BIG NO NO.
I rather spend S$600 for a room in SG than to rush through the causeway everyday and sacrifice 4 hrs a day.
