Yup, both company laptop HDD as well as his personal portable HDD which was the one which got him into trouble since he must have brought along his music, movies and porn. No doubt all pirated as well.

My boss now going into a fit since that fella was suppose to be on an urgent last minute assignment from a client. But now gotta go in jail while awaiting for court date. Donno why not just pay fine or something and let him go. Must be some serious shit.

I believe all of our laptops, portable HDD, pendrives, iPODs, iPhone contents are saved with pirated movies and porns... what so big deal about that?

Unless u are watching movies using an original CD inserted into your CD drive.
*
I believe that australia is pretty uptight when it comes to copyright material. Porn was the thing which did him in, they could also kena him on pirated content as well, well thats what i would do if i was the australian authority.

Update on my colleague who got detained in australia coz he brought porn.

Looks like he just dug himself into bigger dip shit hole since after going through his porn collection, the authorities have found kidde porn and now will be charged with possession of child pornography.

Stay tuned, u will most probably get to read this in the newspaper pretty soon.

My boss now saying he nearly get heart attack coz he heard that of the child porn thing plus now employing a lawyer at Adelaide to try and resolve the matter. I wonder whats the rate of aussie lawyers since we will be paying the lawyer RM750 per hour.

I heard an article about a singapore pilot who also was in the same boat as my colleague. He had to pay a fine of around 12000 aussie dollars.

The funny thing is, the lawyer we hired for him, after attending the initial hearing, doesnt want 2 continue with the case anymore. I guess the fella really gone case oledi if the lawyer doesnt want 2 get into this mess.

How long did you shower originally?  hmm.gif
*
10 mins is abit long. Are you a girl by any chance?

I notice most landlords usually complain about usage of the washing machine since it uses water as well as electricity. Sometimes i find these landlords think they can rent out a place while still keeping within their original utility budget without considering that they would be an increase since another fella is staying. Plus most ppl would be at work so they only using less then a days worth of electricity or water, and yet they can still b**** about it. It boggles the mind sometimes, but i guess there are singaporeans.

Wow, now my landlord scolding her son, again. Been one week straight non-stop scolding during night time.

Yeah, they are super conscious about water usage, don't know why.
*
If i not mistaken water charges are more then electricity. But that doesnt mean some ppl have to resort to stock piling the used mopped water to flush their toilet rather then use the toilet flush which they say is "wasting water". Mr kiasu anybody?

I'm staying with landlord also... but they are not too particular about utilities bills... they only thing they are particular is the usage of internet!! sigh~ i also dont know why since it's unlimited plan. anyway, the reason is because they keep mumbling about modem been switch on for too long, will burn easily....

so, guys, i'm planning to get my own mobile broadband.. any recommendation?

I used to subscribed to Celcom and Umobile broadband, and it SUCKS especially at night... how about here? which Telco gives the best service and yet value for money?
*
Damn weird. Nowadays most ppl just leave their modem on 24/7. Mobile broadband is very dependent on area. Best bet would be to borrow somebodies device and test it out at your area.

I am using M1 and my internet sucks big time, i constantly get around 512-800kbps eventhough my plan is a 4MB plan. When i use it at my workplace or other places, it works very well, but where im staying it sucks.

So for me, its heavily dependent on area.

Looks like coz of the seriousness of the offense of child porn that even a normal lawyer wont touch. My company now got a QC (Queens Counsel) for our staff. Now even more ex, billing at 700 aussie dollar an hour for his services, and even then the QC guy told that can plea bargain for lesser jail term to around 3 years.

So remember boys and girls, dont bring porn in australia, much less child porn.

Your company is going to bear all the legal expenses?

I am dead against porno, why on earth do you GUYS love to download million of porn when you don't even watch all of it.

Many years back, I stumbled upon my ex-bf collection on his PC, and demanded him to delete them. And you know what happpen?

He broke down and CRY! He said it was his entire life collection. WTF!

And Guess what, we broke up cause I cannot stand his addiction to porn.
*
Most probably they will. They now oledi booked a court date so see how things go, if possible try to get a reduce sentence. But i dont think they will post bail for him.

Coz the guy cant possibly pay for the legal charges and he still is an employee of the company (not that i think that will be after the court case). You have to be a really cut throat company to leave an employee high and dry. But then again it speaks loads about the company morality.

The offending material was on his personal hard drive which he brought with him. If it was the laptop (which is the companies one), then he would have had it.

nah, I'm so not into porn. But I do have a collection of 3 - 4 videos which has been with me like 5 - 6 years. Not that I watch them, but just that already developed this sense of feeling towards the .mpg/.dat or whatsoever. muahahahha.
*
Of course girls arent that into porn. Guys are more visually engaged creatures compared to women.

You have to look it at the point of not that guys dont want 2 delete their porn as to some ppl would lament if u tried to delete their collection of "friends tv show" collection. But then again ppl would say porn and tv shows arent the same but they are to an individual coz their the same thing, just in a diff package.

If you feel the effort and inconvenience is worth a couple hundred ringgit, then go for it.

Me... I hate luggage. I would rather pay extra.

I have seen some people who actually do brush their teeth while the tap is running. I also don't know why.

Dont forget if anything cocks up. You gotta claim warranty all the way from lowyat, eventhough your in singapore.

life very boring
i m diploma holder in computer science
hiolding e pass now, just collect 1 month ago [how soon i can apply pr?can advise.]

any idea what i need to improve so higher chance to get higher pay job
thanks.

Alot of ppl now in your shoes. Just change job. Since either way, to get better pay is to change job since you not happy in your current situation. If you cant find at singapore, then maybe go back to malaysia or other country.

Singapore is not the be all end all employment destination. U need to have certain criteria to get PR, like high qualification, certs and a number of years exp in respective field.

Ppl like you have just work in sing one month, dont say one year, most probably still under probation with only diploma and under employment pass, do you honestly think mom will grant u PR so soon?

I know some ppl who have at least 3-5 years exp in one field with multiple certs and they are oledi S Pass and they still cant get PR after multiple tries.

To better your chances to get pr, dont be so impatient thinking about pr, upgrade yourself and work a few year in your current situation then apply for PR.

i got my pr with my following qualification:

2nd lower honors degree in computer science , 3 years working experience as desktop technical support in malaysia, applied PR after 6 months working at singapore with a contract job as technical support. i am also a certified micrsoft professional. holding employment pass.
*
EP's have a very good chance of scoring PR. Btw, is yours just MCP or MCSE?

I plan 2 retake my own certs but it seems that now nomore of mcse , now change to MCTS or something like that.

If i not mistaken MCSE was for win 2000 and 2003, now mcts is for windows server 2008.

Pr is good if you want 2 job hop without having to ask your employer to get an employment pass. It doesnt really help that much if u going to use it as a bargaining chip for pay hike. I "knew" one fella who thought that.

Izit? I though if u work long enough in singapore and your employer will vouch for you then most probably can jump from work permit to pr.
