yeah, if u get just play the 15 or so games that comes with your modded wii u can say what mumiechen says. lets call a spade a spade. modded wii have problems, and lets not deny this fact. modded wii sellers won't tell u this. hardcore modders won't tell u this either. but i am not a hardcore modder, neither am i a modded wii seller. i am just a gamer. and most people reading this forums are also like me. so please don't twist the facts about modded wiis.

if its up to me, i actually promote modded talk. coz people must hear all sides of d story. there are NOT MANY sites out there that talk about modding from a gamer's perspective. u only hear the modders talk loudly about it. these modders are also gamers of course, but when they talk its always from a modders perspective, and they are always bias. so discussing about it here will give a balance perspective.

to moderaters, that is something to ponder. but piracy is of course a big sin, and that without reservations i agree.

that's exactly what i am referring to. as a gamer how would they know how to fix thier modded wii? sometimes they don't even know they bought a modded wii. people come to this site the typical question they ask is "Should i buy modded or unmodded?". if they ask a question like this, i am very sure they are better off with an unmodded wii. coz if u are a modder, u won't even bother asking this question. Therefore we shouldn't say to him go talk about it somewhere else, coz he will go and do exactly that and will have found out later the consequences. i know i been hard on them in the past, but i shouldn't be like that.

let me understand this guys. if u have a modded korean wii, u can't use the disc channel, period? but if u have a us/japanese modded wii, u can use the disc channel for your disc games? like that?

so both my statements are true? i was referring to whether can use the disk channel or not for these wiis. i not asking what region can use d disk channel.

k thanks guys. so to summarize, going back to my original question:
if u have a modded wii, u can use the disc channel for game region as per region of the installed firmware. so if your installed firmware region is say, JPN (J), then u can only play japan region games. your game have to be geniune. non geniune games can't use the disc channel. so the disc channel on a modded wii behaves like the disc channel on an unmoddded wii.

it will work anywhere in the world, but i think u referring whether u can play games bought in malaysia. nope it can't. malaysian games sold in malaysia are US region, whereas uk consoles play Europe region games.

modded korean wii sells about rm850 if "new" ("" is used coz how the lleh would a customer know? there's no proof whether its new). but i notice they usually bundle it with compulsory accessories to make it about the same price as a original factory default wii, which is around rm9XX. so there u go. but my humble advice please don't give business to these korean wii sellers. it was never meant to be. don't support them.

if i have my selfish way, i would advice not even to go modded. coz modding is avenue to piracy. pleae don't lecture me about modding is not piracy. is like saying sex is not pregnancy. but we all know pregnancy is caused by sex.

i seen that one. it comes in white usually right? the c and z buttons is on the sniper magazine, held by your left hand. the wii remote sits on the gun barrel, and the nunchuk close to d trigger so u can 'thumb' it with your right hand while finger on the trigger

i imagine it on certain games only. definitely not the ones that u need to press the +, -, 1 and 2 buttons on the wii remote quite often, coz this will require u to move your hands from the magazine to the wii remote attached on top. this is quite cumbersome and u will loose the 'wiining edge' in competetive gaming. maybe for rail shooters can la.

but it looks rather cool.

video games in general don't fit well with accessories that resembles the real world. seriously la. maybe in the future when we have 360 degree virtual reality then these real world acessories will fit. until then the wiimote/nunchuk is just perfect

i have all d wii exclusives: nsmb, mario kart, grand slam tennis, ssbb and boogie superstar.

the rest are band games u can find on other platforms wii coz i have invested on the hardware already.

as u can see, i only have less then 10 games on d wii, but i am totally satisfied, coz up to today i still play them.

as for my ps3, all my shooters are there. and i have 4 of them. and that too i am totally satisfied, coz up to today i still play them.

when i was first going to buy the wii (i was a noob in console gaming before that), i was going to get a modded wii, coz everybody is getting it. in fact i was so closee in buying it but back down after i read about the issues of modded wii. i know that every issue, some genius will come to fix it, and over time u will overcome it. but i was thinking why go through all that hassle. as though i got lot of time, and it makes me feel like a desperate white collar thief. but my concern was game availability, and not price. but i was in philippine that time, so game availability was not a concern at all. the shops are full of it from ceiling to ceiling. i can just walk in and find d game u want. so i bought the unmodded wii. i came back to malaysia, and wow - no games to buy. i remember i was looking for 2 games in the market - cod:mw and ddr: hottest party 2. i go to retail shops don't have, i post in lyn don't have. for 3 months i looking for it don't have. only got in PA, but the price is too expensive - selling at 54 USD, and i always scared that once i commit i have to wait 2 weeks for it, which i would pull my hair if within that 2 weeks i find it in malaysia. i finally got fedup i bought my ps3, and bought my cod:mw2 for my shooter fix. so there u go. my game being unavailable on the wii i blame it on pirates. damn pirates.

u sure? u walk into a popular pirate shop u have all 3 binders - 360, ps2 and wii. 360 is less abuse to mod then wii. that is why u find more ori games available for 360. u can't hardly find a unmodded wii nowadays. but an unmodded 360 is easily available
