That's bcos you are ashame to attach yourself to anything local and think the louziness of Malaysia is nothing worth of support. So you only emotionally attach to Liverpool.

A complete GLORY HUNTER you are. What a shame to even live in this country.

I cant see any football lover who cant have any love toward its national team.

Plastic Glory hunter.very typical.

Once again you've proven your ignorance by not comprehending my reasons why. I honestly thought I was insulting you when I called you a dumbass and stupid earlier but now I realize I'm merely describing you. You've ignored the insight a gave earlier, the very same insight shared by many Malaysians if the elections were anything to go by, something of course you don't understand. Suffer to say, my reasons for feeling unappreciated by my nation are stronger than your blind faith. Prove me rigt again with another weak reply then. If anything the nation is what it is now instead of on par with a much smaller country like Singapore because of blind citizens like you who don't mind being taken advantage of. Happy with being mediocre it seems.

Kids do have a tendency not to read the news and keep up with current events. Questioning my reasons for not being nationalistic whilst not realising how big a problem it actually is. Last National Day, the had to fine businesses for not flying the national flag. Once they wanted to insist that we sung the national anthem before each movie in the cinema. Need I mention the brain drain? What about the fact that in the past 6-8 years, 500,000 Malaysians migrated out of the country. These things transcend football but I would not expect the genius that is Yuki to know all this.

Is this OT? I don't think so as I'm responding to doubts over my lack of interest in local football which is runs by the state which in turn is run by the ruling coalition, by and large.

The 'higher ups' need to understand that loyalty and nationalism cannot be enforced. If things are right, people will respond.

One of my fondest memories overseas was Warrick Uni's Malaysian night circa '98 when a whole lecture theater stood unprompted to sing NegaraKu. Ace that.

Instead of labelling those who shy away from local football as glory hunters, the local FA needs to address the issues and reasons why this is happening.

Sports IS potentially much much more effective than any stupid slogan in uniting the rakyat. Ask yourself honestly - where else have you seen a whole truckload of Chinese cheering on a bunch of Malay lads (soccer) or a group of Malays cheering on a Chinese boy (badminton)?

Calling someone glory hunter just because he supports overseas clubs is just the same as calling someone who had sex a "f***er". Technically everyone who have had sex can be called that. Is having sex something to be ashamed of? Probably not. Is it offensive to call someone that though? u tell me. Pardon me for the funny analogy tongue.gif

We all can give our reasons and justify them until nobody can deny. but at the end of the day, not everyone is comfortable being called a glory hunter. so stop being so insistent in labeling others, especially based on your own belief. If the few of u wanna see us as glory hunter, fine. But don't expect us to admit it ourselves, by saying it is not something to be ashamed of if we say we are.

Keyboards, not swords makes one invincible laugh.gif

At any rate, you need to learn to respect one's opinions, even if you do not agree with them. As Kenny Dalglish said recently you can choose to dislike a person, but at the same time still respect them.

Some of us do support foreign teams, I am a Liverpool supporter, but those who know me well also know that it is not the actual football team that I care about but the values that the club represents. A code by which i aspire to, and to which i try to live my life by.

The last time I went to a local match was Sabah v Pahang @ stadium penampang more than 10 years ago. Our normal stadium in Likas was closed for refurbishments... we stood very close to the pitch and pelted a certain Mr Zainal Abidin with cries of "Kuda Tua" and buts of ice blocks from our drink packets when he came over to take a corner. Fond memories those laugh.gif

If you ask me, I probably lost interest in local football after the match fixing scandal was exposed. Football was always secondary to me... supporting Sabah back then was like supporting the local boys against the 'invaders' (for the lack of a better word) from the peninsular. There was always a decent mix of players from all creeds of life and races in our team.

The match fixing scandal was a slap in the face. Disillusioned. Disenchanted perhaps.

Having come back from an extended period overseas and away from the local football scene, it seems hard for me to 'reconnect' with the local teams, especially when I have had warmer welcomes and better experiences at places like Anfield, Maine Road and even Stockport County as compared to watching Malaysia beat Indonesia in the mamak opposite the road. Racism, like it or not has a part in driving away fans - it is a two way street really - if only one race participates, then there will be fewer fans from other races, but if no one from the other races are interested, then how can there be participation?

It is something that needs to be addressed. Urgently. Infantile rants and name calling will not make anyone want to go to the stadium.

I think you got it wrong madmoz. The jackass is not trying to get anyone to reconnect with local football, not his agenda at all. He's trying to get everyone to join his club i.e. glory hunters extraordinaire since he readily admits that he supports a whole bunch of clubs and shifts clubs at will. Sort of, trying to justify it if you will.

No one ashamed because you can't even back up your own definition of one.

Yet again you avoid arguments and continue to spout the same rubbish. No one feels "butthurt" by your criticism because it is baseless. What's annoying is dumbasses like you exist in large numbers.

Your state team belongs to you is it? How? Try explaining and prove that you are at least 1 IQ point above a maggot.

Yeah and Liverpool fans are delusional it seems. Apparently he's not so good with memory either. Also usage of words like "the whole world can see", "everyone knows", when no ones actually backed him are is a sign of insecurity as well, requiring the affirmation of others.

Apparently you must be from Kelantan just like you must be from Somalia to understand the plight of starving children. I wonder why they invented the word, "empathy" then?

Sorry i dont interact with less intellectual name calling freak like what you are doing.Thats very low class obviously.I will report you too.

btw you say you dont feel butt hurted but you exposed yourself badly!

The saying goes, "let's call a spade, a spade". In this case though, it's the matter of calling an idiot, well an idiot to be fair. Oooohhhh, you're going to report??? Oh, please ohh please don't do it. Keh keh keh...

What do you know, first he tries to supposedly engage people in discussions, then resorting to incoherent responses and not addressing people's point at all. And now he declares a self proclaimed victory. Comedy gold there...

Unfortunately Kelantan is not a club of Liverpool or Man utd stature with history of EPL & European cup winners (world major honour that attracts glory hunters) What Kelantan does best is Malaysia cup which wouldn't interest the UK.

Your question is pointless.

but in another way round if Kelantan are rich with European winner or EPL winner history, then he support this club bcos of that CAN BE BRAND AS GLORY HUNTER.
Just like you guys.

i dont see why Kelantan cannot be compared to EPL clubs? Compare european cup winner for wat? Come compare amt of Malaysian Cup trophy

i dont think that is glory-hunting as Kelantan is relatively poor in term of glory compare to English Primier League Clubs that he might have the option to support....

your are entitled to support any team that represents where you are born... so no.. you are not a glory hunter if you upports them if they are the Champions of Asia... though it would draw the ire of the old skool fans who sticks to supports them since they played in the FAM League..

The definition has changed again. Now it's fine to support a foreign side, just so long as they are in the Conference League. Doesn't matter I your aren't born there anymore. Hard to have a proper conversation with this one hence me resorting to kid like mannerisms.

the key word here is "glory"......

when you don't have the guts to support you identity-root team but you choose to support a "glorious" other team, foreign or local, instead, then you are a glory-hunter.

its hard to call you a "glory" hunter if you want to support a team less glorious than you real home team is it....

the definition never change... just that there are generalization that i think everyone agrees that foreign teams supported by us are several leagues more glorious than our state teams... hence the generalization that "anyone who support foreign teams are glory-hunters"....

i would never call anyone who support Sunday Leagues teams in England as glory-hunters.... we just never got to this part of the discussion..
