hahaha okok cause i remembered he's driving a spectra... just suddenly when he talked about the FC, i got lil' bit confused

i'm from malaysia, got myself a spectra5 while they were clearing the old stocks. coz spectra5 and forte uses almost the same engine, so i decided to share my oppinion here too.

my fuel tank is 55L , i didn drive till the fuel light comes out, but very confident that it can reach 600 coz i still have about 1.5 bars left when I reach 550km...even if the light comes out, i still have about 8 litres of fuel in the tank, that will go another 100+ kms before my engine died off.

so 55L can go as far as 700kms on 100% highway.

I m wondering whether the electronic claculator for fuel mileage in our car these days is accurate or not. My company used to rent 6 Persona and I found that even on same road distance and driving style, all 6 Persona give different value from 7L/km to 12L/km. Dont really trust these gadgets. So those car shows which shows poor FC should use the conventional way to record and if there is a big different, then should report to SC for faulty gadgets.

I guess best pratice is the conventional way of fill up full tank and set mileage to 0, drive for about 200km and refill to full tank. Take the mileage distance driven and litre filled to full tank for actually FC.

My 6 year old Vios does not come with this electronic gadgets, so I am very used to the conventional way.

Yeah.. trip mileage dun tell lies... usu will reset upon pumping... then.. reset again... yes.. its close... so far.. but not pin point..
So, for us.. it varies by a few kms..

Hearing that.. think 700km for 100% highway is very efficient. i guess that the norm for auto la.. cannot match city driving.. which kills 20~30% of it..

I do hope that they will have at least the Manual version of the car here..so people like me who prefers manual can save slightly extra =P

Also..Naza's doing some carnival..can we expect some news from them about the Forte since Kia is participating as well? According to the brochure I receive at home at least has Kia involved =s

they have the forte parked at the warehouse for freaking long time...
i believe we can spot the Kia Soul as well if they put out Forte!!

This looks more like cheapskate-version CKD than CBU How much would electric windows cost anyway?

To be fair, the lowest spec Forte comes with the same dull grey dash... whereas the SLi has the faux chrome.


Compare that to the Koup's shiny piano-black console surrounded by gunmetal parts, which is also likely to appear in the 2010 Forte SLi sedan if rumours are true.


Naza better not be stingy, otherwise it's little wonder why people are still going to stick with the Japs.

The Soul's sales are pretty pathetic in Australia because of the relative high price. It's only a 1.6L 4 speed auto but it is tugging a hefty weight which will be even heavier when loaded with stuff in the cavernous boot.

Too bad for the Soul, since it's radical and funky exterior will make one standout amongst the traffic.
Kia, throw in the ThetaII please.

This is more applicable for taxi use.

This entry level Forte will not be able to sell if Naza is going to price it for over RM70k.

Anyhow, Msia is different from Spore, so most things will not be the same with Spore. Don't put so much high hope or will be more disappointed when the Msia Forte is launched with gadgets and function below specs. Spore has set the car market requirement quite high with standard stuff like leather seats and so on.

So cross your finger. Friday is coming soon, so lets c what big news will the PM announce in the 2010 budget. Then lets c when the car maker will launch their awaiting car models, namely Perodua MPV and KIA Forte.

someone told info from Kia SA.. the high spec is even better than the singapore version.
we might able to see the high spec comes with push button start and leather seat as well...
that's really tempting if price is 82k.

Sg forte comes with this gun metal finish already... with red stitch on leather trimming as well... its really much better then the silver version...

now really missing is the push button and immo...
of course there are many more parts that is missing.. i.e safety power windows... etc..
