QUOTE(law1777 @ Sep 1 2009, 06:55 PM)
why would u want a naza/kia car when u got toyota/honda/nissan/mazda/mitsu to choose? i reli dun understand u lo. lol.. this forte looks like a copy of honda civic.. even the rim also same as 2.0 civic
*
lets say if the price is right <70k
why would u wanna go for a b-segment car for more than 80k while u can get a c-segment for less than 70k?
kia is not that bad afterall blush.gif which i seriously hope they will be even better

Added on September 2, 2009, 1:33 amthe only thing u wanna think of will be the resale value. tho resale value is based on the market

My main concern is the engine power of 1.6cc. Will it be underpowered or just good enough? Launching the 1.6cc will makes its price more competetive. Kia is selling Forte 2.0cc in Singapore. Better do a test drive once its launched.

NAZA has killed itself for the past few years, hopefully they have learned their lesson and hope Forte will bring back them alive.

I just hope KIA move in and handle their car themselves. This will definetly be very much better than NAZA.

erhmmmm for the power, maybe u can take the sentra 1.6 as an example... sentral 1.6 still ok lor, a little bit underpowered
but when u step the pedal to metal, its quite nice also when the engine roars thumbup.gif

i believe what he meant is its using the same old engine with some tuning to make it smoother in terms of acceleration

same old 1.6l engine.... hmmm
but 1 weird thing is, spectra with the same engine sucks petrol like nobody's business while this dont? maybe because of the tuning?

Kinda expected underpowered feedback from the available power plants.

Koup really reminds me of d Hyundai Coupe wit its "Looks faster than it can really do"

Well, its actually the same if you compare with 1.6l nissan sentra, not much different i believe...
sentra is also a c-segment car with 1.6l engine in it
altis is also a c-segment car with 1.6l engine in it
latio sedan c-segment car with 1.6l engine in it
waja c-segment car with 1.6l engine in it
previous gen lancer c-segment car with 1.6l engine in it

Naza Automotive Manufacturing Sdn Bhd will produce four new car models next year to achieve its target of securing 8 per cent share in the passenger market by 2012.

Group executive chairman and chief executive officer SM Nasarudin SM Nasimuddin said the rebadged Kia and Peugeot models were in the medium-range segment.

This year, he said, the company expected to secure only 4 per cent market share or about 24,800 units.

"We believe and are confident that with an enhanced network, the 2012 target can be achieved," he told reporters after presenting offer letters to 25 employers in the automative division to undergo a diploma in manufacturing management course.

The eight-month course is in collaboration with Society of Business Practitioners United Kingdom.

Nasarudin said Naza would launch the facelift model of Naza Suria and Naza Force next month.

The Naza Group would also undergo a rebranding soon, he added.

"Naza want to make Malaysia as an assembly hub for Peugeot and Kia for the Asean market and produce specific models for Malaysia.

"We will try to convince our partners about our assembly plant in Gurun that has the capacity to produce 55,000 units annually so that they shift their assembly operations to Malaysia," he said.

This would lead to long term cooperation between Naza and the two car makers, and boost Peugeot and Kia sales in Malaysia, he said.

Naza was also in talks with Kia Motors from South Korea on hybrid vehicles.

"I am sure the company has green technolocy and we will discuss the plan to bring the green technology to Malaysia," Nasarudin said. -- Bernama
