i think the problem is caused by fw 2.42 la. i read on the net, seems other people also face the problem.

oh n im having the prob too.
symptom: the loading icon is displaying forever on top right of the screen after i inserted any disc. no disc icon displayed.

Well since you're asking, da stories goes like these¬

Last fasting month, at noon time i'm getting home for a break, during at home i decided to try the option for remote play thats give u an access to turn off you PS3 system via internet, so i just enable the option & left to work again...when at work place i'd try to access the PS3 from my work place, as far as i remember i couldn't manage to on the system from my office so till i return home the PS3 will be in stand by mode then (red light on + wireless light turned blinking)...

after office hour, went i've got home as usual i play warhawk then after a few session turn to 1942 wiv kuya_abe then wut da game name that helping peeps thru da city wiv zombie? owh forgot dat one...
during that play hour while waiting da bukak poser...i've received a a call from a one of sis of mine in kemaman that said my dear sis that stayed there was real sick...then after berbuka i'd decided to goes kemaman to see her.

so i turn my PS3 off normal shutdown then the PS switch later i start the journey to kemaman...

i've been there for a week bcoz my sis pass 3 days later, when i'm return home, the 1st thing i log onto was my PS3, i turn on the PS then put my finger on the on/off switch & wallout its turn on alike ussual for 2  second then turn yellow & blinking red...

i found dats weird...i turn on again & it wont respond, then i off the console & try many possible method even strip down da console itself...

i google da possible solution but nutin come out, so i'd decided to lay it down till sum light shining thru...

one day tuan ketua rezuan buzz me telling there're some peeps dats manage to solve da prob so i'd sent the unit to benard for checking out da system...hope that it still can be repaired...if not i'll be getting da made in malaysia one laa diz time around
