may be the exposure bias was turned to -0.7 that causes this

if the condition is still good, that's a pretty cheap price for a second hand SB-600. Jst go for it

Tamron 18-270mm is little bit cheaper than Nikkor 18-200mm. Sharpness is good throughout all focal length. Only problem is AF sucks in low light condition. VC works like a charm, even better than VR

Added on May 31, 2009, 8:56 pmThe white shirts 2 girls wearing fool the metering system of the camera. U can increase the exposure compensation to make it brighter.
Usually i'll look at the photo after i take it and adjust accordingly and take the second shoot if not satisfied with the first one

I'm using Sigma 18-200mm. I bought a used one in cheap price, but still like new cos only 3 months old. With that price, I'm satisfied with the pics I shoot with that lens. If u gt fund, get a Nikkor 18-200 or Tamron 18-270 VC

18-105mm & 18-200mm Nikkor has VR
Tamron 18-270mm got VC and built in motor for AF

Downside of Sigma is it's soft at 80-135mm. However sharp at both ends and AF is fast.
Nikkor lens is always expensive compared with third party.

Tamron and Nikkor are sharper than Sigma at the middle range..

Actually is 35mm f/1.8G. It cost RM800.

U now saving ur pictures in RAW format??

By shooting RAW, u can control various settings like white balance, exposure and it's the uncompressed highest quality u can get

ya, compress after PP-ing the photo. Keep a original file after PP-ing so that the photo quality will no be degraded again and again after each PP-ing

Then have to spend more money for HDD

Take good photos there and take full use of ur SB-900. And come back and share ur pics here

By the way, new Adobe Camera Raw can even change the white balance and exposure in JPG files. It's really convenient to have that function

Then I suggest u go for AF-S 35mm f/1.8G which is reasonable cheap and produce good IQ
