To sum it up...when you buy an SLR camera... you are buying into the SYSTEM not just the body. So...we must also take into account the cost of the lenses, flashes and accessories.
How was the KLPF ?

Bloody ell  !!! RM 168 for some velcro and card type material?  I can probably make one myself with things I buy from the local hardware shop. 

Just bought D5000 as my first dslr. Not really worried about the faulty power issue as I guess most of the shops already "cleared" those stocks from the shelf. Still learning the right setting for each shot. Grains are visible with ISO1600 and above.

Overall: good image quality, many image retouch features, good grip with solid feel, fast AF, surprisingly easy to use.

I'm not asking for D300 body price.. I'm asking for D300s Anyways, I'm thinking of changing my lens la. Or maybe buying new. If change. Change 18-55mm VR to Tamron 17-55mm f/2.8. If buy new, maybe 35mm f/1.8G. Which option better?Or go with both options?

Guys, between the Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 and the 28-75mm f/2.8. Which one better?The price is roughly the same right?Doing survey for my next prime lens~

the d90 kit lens 18-105VR... the previous tamron 1750 2.8 built in motor slow..i've missed a lot of important shots with that slow lens...

even the 1855VR/18105VR has a faster focus lock..trust me i know 1st hand.

My recommendations :

1. Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 HSM
2. Sigma 24-70 f/2.8 HSM
3. Older model of Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 without motor - No new ones anymore (Will NOT af on d5000/d60/d40 bodies)

If you're interested in the older model of tamron 1750, you can still find people selling it 2nd hand. The major concern of buying this lens is that most of the made in china version and some of the made in japan version have back/front focus problems and you need to fully test it with a focus test chart and also on your own to make sure that you're getting a good copy of the lens.

what about the tokina 16-50 f/2.8?
that's also a good lens

What do you have in mind? I say this because the cheaper Tokina 11-16 f/2.8 performs much better than the more expensive Nikon AFS 12-24 f/4.

Maybe Sigma 10-20mm?

maybe try and also look at tamron 10-24

decide between tokina 11-16 2.8, tamron 1024 or sigma 10-20...

D5000 product recall.

Very upset as i bought it last week at Gadget World. Not sure if this product under nikon malaysia warranty. I tried calling gadget world service centre but no answer. Now not sure if i had bought an AP set.

Lesson learned always check the warranty card from where.

Make sure they give proper receipt. mine looks like pasar malam.

If got time will go there latter.

Aww man... I brought my camera in case I have time to send to the service centre, then realised I brought the wrong Nikon... T_T

brought my F65... swapped the 2 cos I took the smaller bag during the weekend~

Hand written receipt? Actualy some forumers mentioned before we should get 3 warranty slips and should ask whether the warranty is from Nikon Malaysia or not. I just followed lah. So far so good...
