i wonder why they didn't just fix it with a new firmware rather than sending to service center.. maybe its hardware-related problem.. sweat.gif

Still experimenting with the settings, shots, etc... love it so far smile.gif

Btw I wanna ask other owners, when you click halfway, it should focus lock with a beep right? But mine snaps a photo the moment it gets a lock and beep. I thought one should press all the way down to snap. But no matter how softly I press, it still focus locks then snaps. Not really a problem, just a lil annoyance. I didn't face this prob with my film SLR... Any idea guys?  blink.gif

I'm planning to go back to the shop after work to ask the fella... unsure.gif

my friend bought a D5000 faulty batch, although no error was found during the first week but i urged her to bring it to the nikon center. just 1 hour service(her request), the technician said her camera is the first one that doesnt need any major repair rclxub.gif

HI everyone. i'm new here and i'm new in dslr too. i'm planning to buy my 1st dslr. i'm eyeing on D5000. some of my friends recon me to buy 500D instead b'coz of the built in motor. is the built in motor really that important? i understand that without the built in motor i cant use AF lenses but only AFS lenses. is that really important?
i'm very undecisive between 500D and D5000. can anyone help?
*
u're asking in Nikon thread, of course we'll say go for D5000 laugh.gif its tilting screen, Liveview, HD-video recording, plus very good creative image manipulation software on the body seems very interesting for dslr starters icon_rolleyes.gif

Just to confirm on the upcoming event this weekend, will there be booth selling cameras like PCFair for camera instead? Haven't been to such event and furthermore I'm not from KL.

EDIT: Nevermind, saw the list of exhibitors at the website smile.gif. Thinking to get a D5000 kit during then if the deal is good.
*
i dont think camera prices at KLPF will be low like street prices.. blush.gif

thanks you very much for the advice. frankly, i'm a real big fan of nikon. but people around me told me that i should buy 500D instead coz the specs and etc are musch better. even mags reviews says that 500D are much better compare to D5000. whatever it is, i went to a store and hold both cam for the first time. nikon suits me the best. i've decided to go nikon. to me, most importantly are the feel, weight and the body looks more solid than canon...
*
ya, go to the store, hold each one of those shortlisted, feel it yourself.. then grab a red lightsaber la laugh.gif
