HI everyone. i'm new here and i'm new in dslr too. i'm planning to buy my 1st dslr. i'm eyeing on D5000. some of my friends recon me to buy 500D instead b'coz of the built in motor. is the built in motor really that important? i understand that without the built in motor i cant use AF lenses but only AFS lenses. is that really important?
i'm very undecisive between 500D and D5000. can anyone help?
u're asking in Nikon thread, of course we'll say go for D5000

its tilting screen, Liveview, HD-video recording, plus very good creative image manipulation software on the body seems very interesting for dslr starters

Just to confirm on the upcoming event this weekend, will there be booth selling cameras like PCFair for camera instead? Haven't been to such event and furthermore I'm not from KL.
EDIT: Nevermind, saw the list of exhibitors at the website

. Thinking to get a D5000 kit during then if the deal is good.
i dont think camera prices at KLPF will be low like street prices..
