QUOTE(General_Nic @ Jun 16 2009, 02:09 PM) the colours, is like so... fake?? yup.. owned the 55-200VR got it 2nd hand, but it's a real good lens with a cheap price tag. there's also an AF-S 55-200 NON vr but i think it's not worth it as u really need the VR.the greens so bright almost blinded my eyes im usually the photographer during family outings n frens outings sometimes nid shoot subject far away... maybe i shud get the cheaper(or cheapest?) zoom lens, 55-200mm VR? there are AF 70-300 non vr and it's real cheap but it cant AF on d40/d60/d5000. im not sure if there is an AF-S 70-300 non vr but i do know that there is an AF-S 70-300VRii. but even 2nd hand the price will be well above rm1k. new will cost around rm1800. |

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 16 2009, 09:05 PM) Ahhh forget that failed HDR pic... yeah heard about this problem but in what shooting conditions does it effect you? in complete darkness only or even in dim/low lights too?About third party flash, I'm using Nissin Di622 Nikon mount with my D40, it serves me very well, I never tried Sb600 before so I can't compare. Just one issue in Di622: The AF assist light is not corresponding to the angle that the lens is pointing. Maybe you can visit Nissin di622 thread for more info about that... Again, sorry guys for showing such failure pic T.T I didn't calibrate my display when making that, now i calibrated already, my eyes are like @.@ Sorry yea did you solve that problem? |

QUOTE(mindkiller6610 @ Jun 17 2009, 06:21 PM) around rm3000Added on June 17, 2009, 7:15 pm QUOTE(jessafreak @ Jun 17 2009, 06:28 PM) oh forget to tell, im also use nikon D60, just bought past few weeks, huhuhu. lets say around the price of rm3000+ comparing canon 40D and nikon d5000 or even rm4000 D90. in terms of speed the much cheaper canon 40D 6.5fps even beats the more expensive D90 4.5fps. it's a very fast camera considering the cheap price tag. if you want speed at a cheap price take that nikon.. i think that's what ur friend meant to say.my fren told me that if u want to shoot something fast like in motogp or F1, better buy cannon, but if u want to shoot something more colorful better buy nikon, is it true?? got my d60 for rm2000 including UV filter, screen protector and the package also includes a genuine black Nikon Professional leather bag. QUOTE(mixologist84 @ Jun 17 2009, 08:09 PM) wah kent goh u're here too! the f2.8 is not 70-300 afaik. it's AF-S 70-200 f2.8. comes in two colours grey and black. the grey costs a few hundred ringgits more...din know ure into photography. btw askin here abt the nikkor 70 300 vr.. ( the normal ones , not the f2.8 which will make me vomit blood) i am looking into zoom lense for my next lense. just wonderin with the zoom range up to 300 with vr, will the shoot be sharp if lets sayi dont mount it on tripod? sorry for the noobie question, i hv never used or experienced zoom lense b4. purpose of me getting it is for runway/wedding shoots. thanks in advance the 70-300 VRii has a newer VR tech like on 18-200VRii. the 70-300VRii has two switches for VR rather than one one the 55-200VR. It has if im not mistaken active VR which you could turn on in conditions where there are a lot more shake. to be honest wedding shots dont require you to have a zoom lens if you're not taking candid pics. imo weddings pics dont need a lot of candid shots..at least business wise la. the 55-200VR will serve you well enough for candid wedding shots..300mm is a bit extreme for weddings dont u think?. if you're into those F1 racing pics and stuff of that kind, 70-300Vrii will make more sense la.. |

QUOTE(General_Nic @ Jun 19 2009, 10:11 PM) off it has to b big, bigger flashgun is better the major problem here is that how do we know that the one we're buying is the new FIXED version and not the older one. cause the box and flash will still be the same..when u got your Nissin? i tot newer version fixed the AF assist light problem? maybe need to test kaw2 la..but it's easier to test in a completely dark room. test at kedai hard la to know the exact outcome. |

QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ Jun 19 2009, 10:56 PM) i havent use falcon eyes be4, but i owned a Nissin i622... i lik the outcome tat it produced... for me, i think itz a good flash... the oni prob for me is itz too bulky... tried one before..the bulkyness is fine but the weight just isn't balanced on a d60 body..adoii..the camera will point down when we use neck strap..and with my tamron 1750 it seems that maybe i need to change the neckstrap sooner than expected.Added on June 20, 2009, 12:52 am QUOTE(shinjun @ Jun 19 2009, 11:26 PM) Talk about when u get ur gear..I got mine when I'm studying degree which is now. if d60 and below dont have commander built in.. d90 above got laBTW, want to know if want to do wireless flash is it need to buy extra commander? or use pop-up flash by the body? the problem now is how to tell whether you're buying the "newer fixed Di622" and not the old stock? cause there's a lot of old stocks out there for all i now ..
need to test in a completely dark room to really make sure..and cant really do that at shop.. @latias93 ..can post a picture of your D60 with 18-200VR? side view and top view..and maybe an angled view. considering either a new sigma 18250 os hsm or a used tammy 18270 (cant really find any) or a used 18200vr This post has been edited by alpha_company: Jun 20 2009, 05:13 AM |

QUOTE(latias93 @ Jun 21 2009, 02:46 AM) Poisoned, but won't die one lar.. afaik.. price of Tamron 18-270 VC is the same as Nikon 18-200 VR & the price of Sigma 18-250 OS HSM is just a bit cheaper compared to the both.Surely must be longer.. and heavier.. and more expensive.. either way.. sounds scary if I attached the Tamron and Sigma ones to my wee D60 body The Nikon has faster af lock in low light and the Tamron has longer and better IQ (from what i've read). the Sigma has a fast af lock like the nikon and also longer reach 50mm more than nikon. (IQ not sure) so basically tamron slower but has the longest reach of all and better IQ nikon faster but has the shortest length sigma is kinda in the middle with longer reach and as fast as nikon. (IQ dont know) This post has been edited by alpha_company: Jun 21 2009, 07:40 AM |

If you want the best range of all and a really good VR, Tamron 18270 VC is your choice. The VC on this lens is really nice unlike on other lower end tamron/sigma models.
For fast af lock i would say Nikon 18200VR but im not sure how it compares with Sigma 18250's IQ. I'll look into this soon.. |

I don't know what's the problem, I've taken more than 1k pics in M/A mode.. but now only the Manual mode works.. the 18200 is your dad's right? the d60 new or 2nd hand? and do you still have warranty for both? When trying to take pic in M/A mode there is a very soft clicking noise but no picture is taken.. the lens is seated correctly and is clean.. QUOTE(latias93 @ Jun 21 2009, 10:58 PM) Yea.. the D60 is new. The D60 is only about 1 month old (still newbie here!), yes got warranty. Not sure about the 18-200VR's warranty.. since my dad is mostly outstation. I will test my D60 with other lenses first to narrow down the search of the problem.. yeah.. nikon and/or shashinki knows that if anybody can afford an rm2.5k lens...they can sure spend rm90+ for an original nikon lens hood replacement...hehehe.... on a side note, just checked the price of a Nikon HB-35 Lens Hood for the 18-200VR on Shashinki.. RM95.. SO EXPENSIVE for a piece of plastic This post has been edited by alpha_company: Jun 21 2009, 11:15 PM |

QUOTE(project-o @ Jun 22 2009, 12:05 AM) If you are getting a 40D I think better forget about the 18-55mm not good. 18-55IS slightly better. the 40D KIT that's rm32xx has the 1855 IS.... that's how cheap it is. so D90 kit better or 40D kit better?Added on June 22, 2009, 12:07 amAnyway does the problem come with all your lenses or only 18-200 ? If all lenses that means it is a problem with the D60 body if not then it is the lens problem.I had a problem something like yours with my 55-200VR mine was a lens problem sent back to Nikon after it came back it was OK already job sheet says it was the SW Motor problem and they replaced it. |
