Usually our old school CPU isn't able to perform well in high resolution + high end card due to the old architecture. If decided to get a PCI-E base card, might consider any Geforce 8 series or ATI 4xxx series.

Get another mobo for S478 and meanwhile prepare yourself to get a LGA rig? Your P4EE will be wasted if run on cap ayam brand mobo.

@ravewar,keep the 865P chipset with you. It is a far far better chipset than VIA one.

QUOTE(ravewar @ Dec 14 2009, 09:55 AM) yeah...the intel 865 board has lotsa pic slots....and able to put in additional PCI sata ports... Just get a network can and plug in and you still left 4 slots for additional PCI cards. Your main purpose of your rig is to become a HTPC? Which type of casing are you going to use then?the jetway VIA chipset mobo has a very small footprint and very compact...simple design...good for HTPC applications....but that's about it...hmmm... seems like the 865 is still a favourite for P4 guys aaaa.. QUOTE(powerwoot @ Dec 14 2009, 11:24 AM) The resurrection from the grave! I summon you to come alive! alive! Good to hear that, can use the rig as torrent machine then.haha the revival of my s478 rig after years of R.I.P in the coffin. Now she is alive and kicking. On your new RAM,are they relabeled RAM? All OCers are using Intel chipset mobos Added on December 14, 2009, 12:47 pmNew KVR rams arrived, sadly all Kingston chips |

QUOTE(fylon @ Dec 16 2009, 11:12 PM) Was look around in the forum, found that most of the seller were selling at 275-295 but i got mine from nic (1 of the local seller in my place) which cost me 265/pcs. So loot two unit at the same time. The price is shooting up soon. Can get constant writing speed on the HDD which is considering fast. This the 1st time I turn over to Samsung bro.. But I keep that two f3 for storage purpose. A little bit of waste. Haha! Yea! Is darn fast! Get around 100mb/s constant for copying files into this fella. And another good thing is, this fella quite cold. Even in loading, hardly to feel to heat when touch it. QUOTE(Jcsy @ Dec 16 2009, 11:36 PM) for those who installed Win7 on S478 New script to check on the reboot time? I will need to reinstall back my Win7 then to try out.whats your reboot time? nobody post in here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1204074/+40entry30621602 |
