Guys, face that problem too. So movie even is 1080 but it still consume high CPU usage. Reason is, the movie is not encoded with H.264 but instead other format. Tested with quite a few movie that i loot from edmin, the result is, som movie only take less then 10% of the cpu usage but some can spike up to 30%!

No really ray, I believe is the codec problem. Some of the codec is no supported by the hardware decoder(GC), CPU will only help ifself on decoding the movie. So there comes the high CPU usage.

QUOTE(DataCabbitKSW @ Jul 8 2009, 11:24 PM) All Pentium 4 chips are 64-bit, but can still operate 32-bit instructions. Core, Core2 and i7 are also 64-bit. Recent AMD chips are also 64-bit. Unless you go all the back to really old Athlons. Pretty misleading in this part. NOT all P4 are 64bit ready. Only P4 5x series in LG775 socket then Intel implement x64 instruction set into the chip. Link your source here for pointing all Pentium 4 chips including S478 are 64bit ready . |

@Edmin & Jcsy
So the conclusion is, pagefile dont really boost up the overall performance but (at least) it helps on logging down errors that cause by BSOD for the ease of debugging right? @Mooneyes What a big lost there man.. |

Jcsy, what is major in ur Degree? IT does have quite a few numbers of categories.
It seems out topic already, but still i wanna point out something. My 2cent MCSE or whatever cert it is, they do have the own existing purpose. People take it cause they need it. And ur right, most people now knows how to operate and administrate windows these day because windows is too common and almost everyone use it. But, do they fully know and understand what is going on behind the windows? What is their architecture, the kernel thingy? I believe none of the normal windows user can explain or really know about that, beside those who take the professional course. Also, we are just mentioned about MCSE only. Bear in mind that, MCSE were part of MCP. And there are still some other courses like MCA, MCPD, MCTS and etc. MCSE might common or garbage like u said. But i dont know the rest were garbage too. Dare a speech, how much do u really really understand and know about Microsoft Technology, Infrastructures and their Architectures? We're not talking about the Windows or OS here. But the technology like BizTalk server and Microsoft Tuxedo server, hows the TPM and ACID works? It might be old and outdated, but anyone really understand how these thing works in the background? Believe only those who taken the course before then can answer. Technology is growing day by day and thats the reason for MCP program exist. When come to technology, nothing is garbage, new thing were actually developed from the old one. I'm not microsoft fanboy. and I'm not trying to cover the products but in facts somehow thing exist is because there are needed for a category needing it. And this are not just point purely to Microsoft cert, but to others as well. Anyways, it is always better to have extra value added cert rather then just a plain degree. Just not just for the sake of better looking on ur CV with extra cert but also u had gained the extra knowledge where others might not have. Just like a piece of art is always looks better with frame. As for my self, i had taken ProCurve ONE Module, but my work were all deal with Cisco. P/s: Apologized for my word if it sounds offense, but this is my point of view about professional course. |

Lol.. Just something to point out too. As i believe everything has its own purpose, just wander does people realized it or not. I myself were majored in computing, more or less im touching on something related to MCP. Not much la, but at least know what the hack is the Tuxedo main frame. |

Its better to know more rather then know less. That is why people used to said, learning has no end.
Work is life time thingy, u'll never know will u stick to ur current job until u got retired or not. Or maybe in the next few years, u might hope from ur current field to another where it required extra knowledge. Just like everyone know how to drive a car, but not everyone knows how to repair a car only the mechanic or people that study about car the know. Same theory, for those who had take professional cert knows more and know what a product can do. Pardon my word Jcsy, i felt that ur message more likely cover on ur own profession only which i think it is not really applicable to everyone fren.. Everyone here has their own job scope and they know what they need to get involve at. What it is not important to u, doesn't means that it were not important for others too. IT is just a big picture of all IT related stuff, there is still alot of branching inside of it. Each of them required different knowledge. My point of view is just not focus on our own profession only but instead the whole picture of the purpose why there is course like this exist. |
