@Ray Ehe.. Yea.. Just got my lappy back. Finally get Dell engineer to replace the proc. Recently the weather is suck balls, totally forget about to switch it off before put back to the back. @KahLooN Actually not much diff lo. Most of the time is doing paper work, some VPN & VNC. Just startup abit slow if compare with CD/C2D, other thing works no diff. P/s: Ofcause a little bulky and heavier.

@llutephie Ya ram timing seems to be quite tight. That might be the problem that caused BSOD when u try to OC it. Since ur using HyperX, i bet the chip should be more or less better then normal value ram. But hopefully not BH-5 in it. Anyways, u may try: - set the ram timing to the loosen one, which is 3-3-3-8 / 3-4-4-8. Personally i would go for the 2nd one. - lock ur pci frequency to 66/33 (if my memory still serve me right) - get vdimm & vcore to the default and slowly push it when ur OC get unstable. Usually will occurred after FSB reached 220 or above. (Eg, restart, BSOD, hang @ POST screen)

@Ray Haha.. Never have a chance to play around with Gallatin before. Cant wait to see how it gona performance after OC. Anyways, i always prefer to set everything to untie and slowly tighten it. In that way, we can actually see how far it can do. Personal favor thou! This post has been edited by fylon: Sep 7 2009, 09:46 AM

@AlexLee277 The packing so damn big? Btw, just to tell u the truth.. P4P800-X was a budget board. Don't put big hope by using it to achieved good OC result. But it rocks for normal usage!

Guess none of the mobo manufacturer will provide any warranty for S478 mobo for now. As is totally phased out, so it is quite impossible to get S478 mobo with warranty. Even the shop provide u, it also warranty from the shop itself (well it depend do they still having any stock on hand) and it is limited and shorter period. My suggestion will be, got a used one but good condition type from Garage Sales. Personally, i will go for P4P800, its a good mobo. Quite alot of option to be tweak for OC and it can even flashed to P4P800SE. But if provided if u know how..

QUOTE(llutephie @ Oct 11 2009, 01:40 PM) So maximum of RAM for 478 is 3GB? Either 3.5GB or 3.25GB the maximum S478 platform can detect, depend on chipset. But ideal is 2x 1GB + 512MB *2 in order to unleashed the potential of DC. Were using this setup for few years before i turn to dark side. Never failed me.

@ray Haha.. Actually were looking for my auntie instead of myself. She wants to recycle all the current parts so no point to loot the PCI-E version. I had found one for RM95 in garage sales. Asus P4VP-MX.. SiS chip but should be alright for normal usage. Hows ya gear doing? I was investing madly on storage nowadays. Currently having 2x WD640, 2x 500GB and 74G raptor as main drive. Soon to loot another 1T.. Just too much 1080p, anime to be store!

@V12Kompressor Haha! FYI that price is the lubang price in kch. Oh well.. Kch's kaki used with it already lo. IT stuffs ain't cheap when come to kch. But food is cheap! @dlwl Haha! Raid for storage ah? Way too much for me.. Actually were thinking to get about 74GB Raptor to RAID 0 my OS drive. But after several thought, is better to invest on storage rather speed. As currently i dont do much gaming. Can said is 0% for gaming but 100% of DL-ing and watching!

QUOTE(ravewar @ Nov 13 2009, 07:37 PM) actually u storage guys should get rid of those hdds which have smaller capacity...and replace them all with at least 1tb hdds...min spec... Haha! Bro.. Positive input u have there. But moving the data is the headache.. I believe Edmin can tell u about this! Imagine thousand Gigs or data to be move.. Its all about time consuming!

@KahLooN & shinjite High chance will be samsung chip as most of the gem like TCCD / D43 / BH-5 were came in smaller capacity. But nevertheless, sometime miracle does happened. Pray har it was TCCD! Tight latency low vdimm. I believe shinjite rigs can be pushed more harder with better ram since his porc is an ES, more tweaking head room.
