Bro, you are right, after dowloading the ipsw for the 3rd time, I finally got it right. to you....

Guys, read the beginning of this thread carefully. Follow each step and read those tutorial links provided by davidgary73. Try to use Firefox to download your ipsw. It really help a lot. I've pwnage my iPhone 2G to OS 3.0 and restore my contact, photos, apps and songs using restore backup function from iTune. No problem at all so far...

Hi all, I purposely post this to thanks davidgary, nokia & all others who dedicates their time in this iphone LYN forum, without u guys; iphone won't be this fun, especially david for his unlocking/jailbreak thread, it was so detail until my friend who just bought an iphone can understand just by reading (which save me from explain to him whole night)...

After update to OS3.0 JB and unlock, i cant import my sim contract..after loading a while when i go to contact is empty have try few times importing sim contact...anyone know why..

hey guys, i tried to update my Singtel iphone to OS 30.0 but somehow it failed to update, and now i cant restore it either, help?

Go to settings>general>network>cellular data network

You can also go to http://www.unlockit.co.nz/unlockit/ via your iPhone safari browser to download a dummy APN.

P.S. The beta OS 3.1 shows that it uses modem FW 5.08.01. Make sure you guys don't update to 3.1 as warned by the Dev-Team.

the things is there's no cellular data netwrk found.
I upgraded 3.0 now my batt drain extremely fast...

I googled about this problem on the internet.

And found the following:

This link says that you can enable it again if you install 'APN Editing' from Cydia. However, some people didn't get it to work.

Next working solution is to update your Carrier files manually using iTunes 8.2 and an ipcc file. Depending on which telcom provider you are using, you can find the ipcc files from here. Instructions can also be found there.

Try and update the ipcc with the appropriate file, make sure it's the ipcc for OS 3.0.

You can choose from:

iPhone_3.0_Celcom_my.ipcc.zip ( 30.17k )
iPhone_3.0_DIGI_my.ipcc.zip ( 23.97k )
iPhone_3.0_Maxis_my.ipcc.zip ( 24.31k ).


see if this solves your problem.

already jailbreak my 2g iphone..current fw2.2.1

You will need iTunes 8.2 to update firmware to OS 3.0.

You will need to jailbreak and unlock the phone again using redsnow.

Follow this guide.

Has anyone only click update fw to 3.0 then jailbreak it with their iphone and later find your phone faulthy?

Cause instead of restore to 3.0, I click update (to not wipe all my apps and stuffs). After jailbreak, everything seems ok to me.

Usually restore might be a better choice... but yea anyway. Anyone doing the same as I am?

i know it is bcoz of the edge searching as whenever i put my iphone near to pc speaker, it has noise meaning to say the frequency is high.
i see no noise if i took another iphoni with 2.2.1 OS.

Furthermore. my iphone (3.0OS) is damn hot whenever charge ! The whole phone gets realy hot whenever charging.... n as said battery runs out real fast....

i'm doubt is a mechnism problem lo...

I had heating problem and battery run out fast when I had push notifications running. It worked fine after i turn off push associated with my yahoo email account.

Which link did you try and download from. The ones on iclarified works as I just tried downloading them.

The battery life on OS3.0 is significantly lower than previous OS.

The email push notification have been set to manual but it doesn't seem to improve the battery life.

Do you guys have any clue?

its quite hard for me to understand all this jb work and thats why i do not update my OS until now...do anybody know where can i find anybody who can do all this technical process for me...?

Try deleting the account and turn off any push notification associated with it. This somehow solved my short battery life problem.
