Same problem with my Maxis Iphone 3GS.
Jailbreak with blackrain 1 2days ago.....firmware 3.1.2 ...everythings went well.....
but after charge up the battery my phone blackout.
now can't even detect on itune ....press and hold home and on ...still can't boot up.
can any one help me ?

How to restore ? can't even detect my phone from itune or PC....

you can try to revive your iPhone via DFU/Recovery mode. you might have missed out on some steps/need to hold on to particular buttons longer.

just saw the thread, really itchy finger planing to jailbreak now, im running on official firmware 3.1.2, im afraid sumtin wrong might happen if i use blacksnow to jailbreak my phone, this is the 1st time doing so... any advise?

if u r on unlocked fw, then thr is nthing else to except make it rain...
if its a locked unit, then u can use blacksnow 2 unlock the phone...
since u said tat u r on 3.1.2, so thr is no worry, just download da tool n make it rain...
rest wud be taken care of
n after tat just get da cydia app...

Are you on 3GS or 3G? If 3G, then go ahead.. All you need to do is JB and Itunes will activated your phone for you.. If you are 3GS, be caution.. As, if your bootroom is with NEWEST ver.. Then, it only support theater JB.. Means, if you phone is restarted.. U can't use it and need to plug to notebook n run Blackra1n again..

im on 3gs, running 05.11.07, gesh in that case i might as well dont jailbreak... dangerous >.< . thx for the info...

Then, u need to check your BOOTROM ver leh...or When, u get your 3GS? because, earlier batch 3GS is with the iboot 359.3

Good question....I am trying to find a link/guide for me.. It is something like this

PUT You iphone in recovery mode.. PRESS HOME & POWER button for 10 second.. then, release your power button while keep holding the home button.
Then, Windows will detect new hardware found.. Got to Windows Device Manager...from there.. Can't remember exactly.... Wait.. still looking for the link for u..

but tat still means if i jailbreak my phone using blacksnow it'll only be a theater JB rite?

bro,last saturday my fren try to upgrade n unlock his i3gs AT&T set, after upgrade to OS3.1.2,he run blackra1n.
till today his i3gs blackout now he want tro send for repair
any idea that i might can help him?

Put your iPhone into DFU mode (how to/tutorial for this step at iClarified).

Then go to Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager on your Windows machine.

Look for 'Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller', you will find 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' as a subitem there.

Right Click and choose 'Properties', navigate to 'Details' tab and select Device Instance Path from the dropdown list box. At the end of this information string you will find the bootrom version, e.g. [iBoot-359.x].
