yes, possible. why? since they dont have roots, the soil doesnt need to be there in the first place.. then comes temperature and lighting... they dont need HIGH lighting... but they need good temperature lol..( at 30c they become vegetable LOL)

Is that new hairgrass in there?

i suggest trimming all the old hair grass... down to the soil after seeing new growth.. because the old leaves are just BBA magnets lol..

Use it. then when the green water problem is done, off it. lol.

The only bad thing they can do to a planted aquaria is that they also remove the good bacteria..

Proper ferting. And proper lighting.

How long do you on the light? is the tank in a place where the sunlight could reach?

Allright boss,

What thin black roots?

Drew

Added on September 23, 2009, 1:44 pmAnd for the last time. that is not java moss. It's either spiky or taiwan. hard to determine unless I see it physically

reason : java moss do not form little triangle shapes that looks like christmas trees or fern shapes.

probably nude strands of moss. its the old ones.

plainly because Moss are one of the few types of plants that don't produce roots.

Added on September 23, 2009, 1:48 pmand don't call me 'kor' not suited with me.

Did you let your filter to mature? what filter are you using?

add any bacteria mix?

Drew

Added on September 24, 2009, 1:21 amOkay just saw your picture.

Seems like you need a bigger filter..

and that plant ( the green with white border 1) is not an aquatic plant. it will just turn yellow and melt anyway no matter what you do.
