Hello everyone, I am in dilemma for choosing prepaid or postpaid . hope someone could help me out . (prefer digi, if hotlink or maxis got good plan good price can change too) . also let me know which plan is best for me to choose , thanks in advance for all recommendations

Now I am using prepaid for years and I found that the call rate is extremely high (I am using easy prepaid, but not really utilising it...).

My requirements :
1) 3G data but 50-500mb should be enough, just using whatsapp and search LYN when not at home WiFi.

2) Decent call rate (maybe 15sen/s or 12sen/s or any better one??).
And let me know which plan of telco have best call rate to others telco: Ie: Digi to Maxis , Maxis to Digi .

3) Decent SMS rate to other telco . (maybe 10sen/msg ??)

I will also taking the free talktime and free SMS (like 100 or 200 free) into consider .so plz do let me know also. And is this free call and SMS can be applied on other telco ??

Sorry for lengthy question . thanks in advance for everyone that would help me out smile.gif

start working soon and looking to convert from hotlink prepaid to postpaid. i am not sure if i should opt for a phone + plan or just sim plan only.

i will most likely getting Nexus 5 next month which mean i could go for sim plan only unless it is more worth for me to get phone + plan from telco.

any advice?

What is the benefit of postpaid over prepaid for you? Or is it just status that 'working di means can afford'?

Plan should depend on usage, you don't mention any detail.

4G is a status symbol if your usage is 'only' 1GB. And you're coming from prepaid so your usage can't be much more than that. Does it REALLY matter how fast your speed is except to show off screenshot of speedtest.net app?

You still don't seem to have any clear idea of what you want, how much of it you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it. How to decide? Like this I recommend you just choose most expensive plan, will have more than enough of everything.

I wouldn't ask here if I know what I want. And I really don't get it what need to be show off with 4g hmm.gif

Anyway 4g is really useful unless you just want it for social networking. I might need it for remote session from mobile to home or work places etc

Oh well, let's just forget about it . no point to ask further

Im currently using celcom postpaid plan at rm126 / month with unlimited data. If i switch to digi smart plan 88 is it ok? How is digi coverage these days?? Mainly using phone for calls, sms, whatsapp, facebook. Might consider using wave application once in a while after i upgrade from my bb to samsung. Any thoughts??

Easy, prepaid is like debit card. You need to subscribe manually for data plan (unless there's option to auto subscribe), and have to topup accordingly before that. Exceed in usage (either time / data volume), and you'll be charged HUGE. But if you aware of it, you can plan accordingly on how much you spent each month. So, prepaid is way flexible and less money consuming than postpaid data plan. Some prepaid, like maxis (I think), have an option for you to continue browsing after exceed the volume/time without worry of huge credit deduction, but with reduced speed (64kbps I think).

Postpaid data plan is, well, you only subscribe one time and didn't have to renew each month. Usually the data plan option provide a lot of data volume compare to prepaid. No hassle to topup and renew subscription every month, and less worry about exceed in data usage (because of huge volume, and also some postpaid can auto send msg/email if you nearly reach the limit). But there's a fixed minimum amount you need to pay each month, whether you using the data until limit or less. Also, the data plan option that provide huge data volume usually sacrifices price for call and sms/mms compare to standard plan or prepaid. So, you need to pay more than usual when calling / messaging.

I am looking for a plan with data 1-2gb, with free talk time to supplementary line. Preferably around RM50

In short, both principle and supplementary line with data and able to talk for free with each other. Are there any such plan? hmm.gif

I am currently using hotlink youth club, and its going to expire by 2 more days or so.

Fyi, I am still a student. By average, I am using about RM3 per month. Most plan/package offered >RM30 to be active.

Is there any plan/package similar to hotlink youth club?

subscribe to hotlink365. rm33 fee and rm30 accumulated reload in 6months afterwards and u'll get a year of active validity. now maxis only got one new plan, the #hotlink, call and sms rate is damn pricey but got free 64kbps basic internet. can't subscribe to hotlink365 with that new plan.
