QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Jun 3 2009, 04:33 PM) 30 million is quite extravagant if u ask me..but he's young and talented, plus if its chelsea who's showing an interest expect the price to be inflated big time. player plus cash would make more sense..but it'll all come down to kenyon. guess its better for ballack to stay as a squad player rather than leave for free. we might need him during the ACN depending on if or how much we bolster our midfield. rumours abound that we've already snapped up daniel sturridge. sturridge is another good player... hope its true..

this daniel is young but is he good enough to enter the main 11 right away? even the highly rated quaresma only gets to play for our reserves. we need some instant boost to the team's performance!

well actually, i would opt for big impact in our team , not doing player-gardening....
when there is a chance for us to grab the stars, we really should...
not speaking of a glory hunter, just that...im pretty much used to how RA wants to see his team is going... insta-impact.
our squad is good enough yes, but player-transfer is the fast opportunities, instead of circling around the squad with youth-injections of some sort...
just my opinion.

Daniel Sturridge looks like carlton cole. Is he really that good can play in our first team at just 19 yrs old?
I see the news link that Carlo has convinced RA to offer Drogba another 3 year deal??! That's great news.
Now we have lots of spare strikers. What are we going to do with them - kalou, di santo, sahar, sheva (still with us?)

More about Yuri... » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Zhirkov interested in Chelsea, if offer comes in
Russia international Yuri Zhirkov has denied reports that he has agreed to join Chelsea this summer, but admits he would be interested in a switch if an offer comes in.
Speculation had suggested the CSKA Moscow winger was set for an impending switch to the Premier League, having struck a deal with the Blues. However, the highly-rated 25-year-old claims he has no knowledge of any such agreement, and insists Chelsea have not even made an approach for his services.
"I honestly know as much about it as everyone else," he told Sport Express ahead of Russia's impending 2010 World Cup qualifier against Finland.
"I read the papers, listen to the radio and I am genuinely surprised, given that no actual offer from Chelsea exists."
While distancing himself from a switch to Stamford Bridge at the present time, Zhirkov did admit he would be open to a move to West London should a suitable opportunity arise.
"Clearly we are talking about one of the best clubs in the world, who regularly compete at the highest level," he added. "It is very possible that I would say yes. But before that I would have to weigh up the pros and cons.
"To sit on the bench and only get on the pitch from time to time doesn't interest me, not even at Chelsea.
"Moreover, I have nothing to lose (by staying in Moscow), given that CSKA now have a very interesting team who will begin competing in the Champions League in the autumn."

if we do get sturridge, apparently it'll be on a free transfer. one of the reasons man city don't want to renew his contract is because of his allegedly high wage demands. 55,000 pounds per-month to be exact. that worries me..but if he works hard and earns his pay packet at the end of the day, he might just turn out to be a great coup. from the few times i've seen him for city, he's impressive but far from the finished article. the talent is definitely there though. i'd hate to see him push di santo further down the pecking order but both could actually be future replacements for nic and the drog.

Malouda's and Alex's contracts are going to be renewed soon
Malouda has only 12 months of his deal left to run but is expected to get a two-year extension with a pay rise from £50,000 a week to around £65,000 a week.
Malouda struggled after signing from Lyon for £13.5million in 2007, but has won over fans and the Stamford Bridge hierarchy in the second half of the season.
However! CSKA Moscow star Yuri Zhirkov who had been lined up to replace Malouda and today warned he would not be happy to sit on the Blues bench. (It's gonna be hard to convince Zhirkov to come if he's gonna play 2nd fiddle)
Alex is also going to be rewarded for a number of impressive displays this season with a three-year deal that will see his salary increase to £60,000 a week. His current contract expires next year but the new agreement will ensure the defender remains at the club until 2013.

Di Santo will be needed when the african nation cup is on going.. Sturridge we can keep him on the bench and give him few minutes of the game or maybe start for fa and carling cup.. so i guess our striker for next season Drogba, Anelka, Di Santo, Sturridge and maybe PATO ( really hope he join us)

Drogba will be offered a new deal too! Striker Didier Drogba will be offered a new three-year contract by Chelsea. Contrary to speculation that the Blues were not prepared to hand him a fresh long-term deal, one will be put before the Ivory Coast international within the next week. He was at the centre of controversy following Chelsea's Champions League exit at the hands of Barcelona when he confronted Norwegian referee Tom Henning Ovrebo after the final whistle. However Chelsea have been impressed by his behaviour since the incident, for which he apologised almost immediately. Chelsea now believe that it is better to keep Drogba than look for a replacement. Chelsea offer £73.5m for KakaCHELSEA have made a world record £73.5million last-ditch bid to scupper Kaka's move to Real Madrid. SunSport revealed today that the AC Milan striker had agreed terms for a transfer to the Spanish giants in a £62m deal. Kaka had flown to Brazil on Monday to prepare for the next round of World Cup qualifiers while his dad Bosco Leite thrashed out the personal terms with Real. But while all parties apparently happy and ready to conclude matters, Brazil officials announced that they would not be releasing Kaka from international duty to sort out any club affairs. That meant the 27-year-old had not yet put pen to paper on the lucrative Real deal, giving Chelsea the last-minute opportunity to step in. Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti, who is moving to London after an eight-year stint as Milan boss, made a personal appeal to Kaka by telephone this afternoon, asking him not to sign for Real until the two have had a chance to meet.
