anyone know how to output my vaio's audio to home theater system? cos when i use hdmi output to my lcd tv, it only works with the tv speaker not the home theater..

btw, my tv has 3 hdmi input and home theater has 1 hdmi output

What TV are you using?

Your TV got audio out a not?

Your Home Theatre got audio IN or not?

samsung lcd tv.. hv 3 hdmi input only, no output. home theater only has 1 hdmi output no input. however, my tv has component audio out and home theater has audio in. but it is in stereo even i opened a dts enabled video..

you only have one choice, which is to connect your lappy to the TV, then from the TV, connect the wire from the component audio out to the audio in of the HT.

Basically, that's the limitation when you connect a lappy to a TV. You can't get 5.1 or virtual 7.1 ch surround sound. This is the reason why people choose to built an Intel Atom based HTPC (has Optical Out).

IIRC, your laptop is Vao NW right?
Its running on Win 7 64 bit, so yeah. its normal. 2GB is the min requirement for Win 7 64bit.

so there is no other ways of doing it to get 5.1 surround sound using hdmi? like using splitter or other hub
*
Actually there is. You have to find a home theatre which has HDMI IN. IIRC, theres only one model that has this in Sony Bravia theatre line up.

nolah.
If you observe those chips on a Kingston RAM, you'll see the chip has "Elipda" printed on each and everyone of it.

Anyone using the X series ? I bought the model VPCX117LG - reported batttery life up ton 7 hours but I am only getting about 4+ hours only when browsing. This is the 128GB SSD model

We don't know what is the standard that Sony use to measure battery life. Its like car manufacturer claimed mileage. We will never get to it, but we can get close to it.

Just got the S today. happy.gif

Okay. First of all, for those who is annoyed by the ultra low brghtness of the screen, here's a solution.

Press "Start" > type in "VAIO CONTROL CeNTER"

then in Vaio Control Center, select "DISPLAY"

in Display, uncheck "Adjust brightness automatically"

Screen brightness can be set as desired from here. happy.gif
The sensor now only works for the backlight.

As for the battery, I'll investigate later. My theory is that it is to make removing battery easier. gonna test this theory later.

And, my space bar doesn't squeak.

The speaker is still considered as "VAIO standard" to me. Not too soft, not too loud.

As for the battery, it doesn't bounce. It slots in beautifully and no "spring" effect.

Now waiting for Vaio F to arrive. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(CyberKewl @ Feb 16 2010, 09:37 PM)
hi guys, happy cny..just asking on behalf of my wife, her sony vaio cs-32g since day 1 has this strange issue where it keeps on turning on by itself in the middle of the night (spooky)..i've tried checking everything from scheduled tasks (none causing it) to bios settings which could trigger anything (none found) and also wake on lan...the OS her notebook is using is windows vista..has anyone faced this problem? Everytime she powers up the notebook the next day, the battery is fully drained and it takes a long time before the notebook goes off the POST/Bios screen (I believe this is due to some low battery detection). Otherwise, if she powers it off immediately, then powers it back up again (with the charger on of course), it immediately boots up to windows vista...has anyone faced this issue? or know what is the problem?

Try send to temple for ritual

or

Please send to service center. XD

Perhaps it was caused by a faulty motherboard. Indicate them to check the fan and LCD screen also since this two is the most common problem of the CS series.

This machine is really a hot white chick ... Anyway, I have a Q in my mind. How much I should add if I want to extent my warranty till 3 years?  hmm.gif
*
Depends on the model you're taking. If its the CW25/26, it will be RM 280 for additional 1 year and RM 350 for additional 2 years. If you're thinking to get a laptop and wish to extend the warranty, now is the right time. Some laptops have 'angau rebate' and all extended warranty is on 20% off. All these sweet deals ends on the 28th. smile.gif

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Feb 18 2010, 10:10 PM)
Wow, it was a superb deal from Sony ... the cheapest warranty upgrade I have ever heard before ... drool.gif
*
That isn't from Sony. It was probably from big dealers like Best Denki/Courts/SenQ

Sony only grants a maximum extension of up to 3 years for VAIOs. By 3 years, that includes the 1 year provided when you bought a VAIO. The moment you purchase Sony's Extended Warranty, you'll receive a certificate of warranty extention from Sony Malaysia.

Where you bought your CW26?

330/430 is supposed to be for VAIOs priced RM4,001-Rm 6,000. CW26 is only 3,999.
