You bought from one Utama Sony Centre or One Utama Best Denki? Check again.

or;

That's the magic of business. There could be trillion of shops with different names on different location but in the end, it was all tied up together by a company. That's how the electronic sector earns its money.

Oh I bought mine at Digital Mall PJ, well i haven't extended my warranty yet. But it says that 330/430 is the correct warranty extension. Haha. Well I'll go ask again at some other Sony Centre.
*
BTW, extended warranty can only be purchased on the day you bought the laptop. hmm.gif

my Vaio C36 finally give up barely 6 months using, really dissapointed with Sony. First its fan noise follow by auto shut off within 5 second after I press the switch on button.  vmad.gif  vmad.gif  vmad.gif
*
Did I told you to send your CS to service before? or is it someone else? hmm.gif

Anyway, the noisy fan is a sign of failing CPU fan. You should have send the laptop in to service that time. CS series has an issue with the fan. Go send it to the service center to have the fan replaced FOC.

You ask also from Sony Style. If you're lazy to walk around, call them.

truth be told, it was Sony who got conned by the fan supplier. If you google it, its actually a worldwide issue. Sony didn't make the fan. Sony acknowledge this issue and offers a 2 year warranty for the fan from the date of the service.

The CS series, is by far, the most unreliable VAIO that Sony has produced.

try third party ones?
But now in the market there's lack of lappy sleeve that fits 16:9 ratio lappie. All is still the more traditional ones.

can i say Z? lol jk.
anyway, my old school C series still works, so yeah.

none, the cs was faulty due to parts they use. its the same to the TZ series which has heat issue earlier due to wiring faulty.
i can say the prob was unpredictable. and worry not, the probability to have defect notebook is real low.
*
TBH, yeah... the Z is the most relaible and stable. laugh.gif
Second goes to the SR and FW.

I jz bough the SR model, VGN-SR55GF.. i'm not satisfied with the audio, sounds so cheap. i heard from dell mini, its better, more surround sound.. but no complaint from others feature.

oh 1 more thing, its been 2 times, i fell asleep without turning of my laptop, and the next morning, its like the laptop is totally shut down, as all my open windows in firefox and other are gone, so its not hibernating or sleep. any info bout this?

not to mention, no battery meter at the taskbar!? i think its windows 7 fault
*
SInce you mentioned "just bought", perhaps its the WIndows Update that restarts your computer and all your TupaiApi and things all gone.

I left my PC on whole night all the time and sometimes the alarm clock doesn't sound because Windows Update restarted the PC for me. My MSN which is always connected before I went to bed, is disconnected. Same case.

I am currently looking to purchase the Vaio S series. VPCS115 to be exact. Are you referring to this model?
It comes with the latest Intel Core  i3.

Hope someone can give their comment on this before I purchase it.

Thanks in advance.
*
No worries. The full model name of CS is VGN-CSxx.

The new VAIO line up carries another model name already; like the S is VPCSxx.

Both are different models.

Fan problem.
Send it in for service.
Go tell them to check the LCD for you also.

QUOTE(Miyabi @ Feb 25 2010, 09:47 PM)
just a recommendation,
to all CS users here, go claim the warranty for the fan issues. srsly, the fan issue should be solve by now, just like how they fix the TZ issue earlier..
It can only be solved when all users had sent in their units for service. There are a few CS which is not affected by this fan problem at all.

what do u mean by auto power cut?
*
since the fan is not working, the heat inside will get so hot that the system will simply cut off the power to the system without even shutdown. Untill the temperature cools down, the computer wont boot up.

Sorry, I was too busy with something lately and rarely dropped by.

For those who is encountering difficulties with their ambient sensors and backlights, you can configure the setting manually at Vaio Control Center.
