im kinda confusing now, zz. i dono want to get the offer from uniten or uthm better. zzzzzz.
uthm is local uni, for sure, fees is cheap, but reputation and lecturer, i dont know much bout that uni.
uniten is private, fees is sky high compare to uthm.

which one to choose cry.gif

now my problem is,
1. uthm 11k for 4 years, uniten 50k for 4 years,
2 duration from my hometown : uthm, approx 2hours 15mins, uniten:25mins
3. my gf ( she got offer from um) means tat if i study at uthm, im at jb, she is at kl(most probably her parents don let her to meet at weekends)
4. both oso accredited by BEM. canot differentiate the quality of both uni.

hi hsien

if you dont mind getting PTPTN while in Uniten, i think Uniten is better too smile.gif
Most people who study in local private uni are under scholarship or loan , can apply during your first semester.

UTHM has good reputation among local uni, although the name is not as bombastic as UM, UTM, USM etc, but for me is good enough. I have friends graduated from there (formerly named KUITTHO) now working in big companies with good salary.
UNITEN, as you said, is private uni. What I know about the uni is the school compound is super big and nice, and the fee is 3-4 times more than public uni. My sister studied there, graduated already, working now.

I was deciding between UNIMAS (Electronics & Telecommunications Engineering) and UNITEN (Electric & Electronics Engineering) but my parents have asked me to go to UNITEN as they feel that UNIMAS is too far. I hope this decision is the right one.

i used 2b in same situation here b4 i was goin 4my 1st year degree studies. Dat time i was having struggles deciding btwn Sunway UC or UTHM. Well then @d end i've chosen UTHM.

U see..Private U was always tempting. Nice environment, cool people everywhere, no restriction of freedom to wat u wear, cool field trips, quality education, qualified lecturers, nice delicacies (or "branded" food) etc etc.. Of course don 4get dat u hav2 "pay d PRICE" 4it. dat's wat makes part of d fees so sky high.

Gov U is my choice coz of d affordable fees. My 1st year 1st sem was a total sucks coz im not used 2it. Der was always complaints frm me during my 1st sem. Poor transportation, hv2 walk under hot sun, stupid curfews wif stupid rules here n der, d people there, lousy food etc etc. Well now, i would say i pretty enjoy my semesters here n no regrets choosing UTHM. All the "toughs" mould me to become a strong person. Gov uni do hav qualified lecturers n some pretty good too. d cheaper fees doens't mean lower standard of education. We hav alot of ppl getting into dean list n some president lists2. We oso hav foreign students studying civil so the lecturers will use english 2lecture. d transportation now is way better than my last time. n facilities wise our uthm hav been upgraded during our sem breaks n i can't wait 2c how wonderful it is. Food 1 chinese n 1 indian stall, many malay stalls. Accomodation not bad. U oso need2 take note dat gov uni is more restricted as well. Also, d subjects like TITAS, hubungan etnik, foreign lang, morals r d must subjects. Involving in cocuricullar activities also compulsory2. This train d students to be all rounded n discipline.

UTHM is bot 40mins to Batu Pahat Town. U still can do wateva shopping n other entertainments. Btwn, d pekan also bot 5mins driving distance frm UTHM. u can do ur groceries shopping, stationaries, restaurants etc etc der. Btwn, UTHM has its own kedai runcits. No worries

Hope u can make a wise choice by perhaps making comparison btwn d2. If u chose uthm, im sure u'll adapt well @d end n will b missing it much after u grad. All d best 2u ya. ^_~ cheers

dat url frm kevinlim001 did mention about d "mistake" frm uthm. I admit it's really a negligence which can be avoided. But ppl do learn frm mistakes. like d latest usm case regarding d "technical problem" which is a big mistake2. Still usm is a very good institution under apex status. Same here, i believe uthm is 1 good institution2.
